Incredible. Jeremy Spencer at his greatest. Not even upstaged by fantastic Peter Green. What a slide guitar player Spencer was. Thanks for posting this.
If only these three great guitarists & musicians, Spencer, Green and Kirwan, had kept their sanity. What amazing music they could've blessed the early 70s with.
ONE OF THE BEST EVER. I saw Peter Green's FLEETWOOD MAC several times at the Fillmore East in NYC back in '68-'69. Triple threat guitar band for sure, Peter Green, Jeremy Spencer and Danny Kirwin...give me a break, man........far out.
Please ... PLEASE.... with Danny passing away ....release the whole performance here. It’s one of the few recordings of all 5 members of the REAL Fleetwood Mac
Back in the 60s when I first heard a Fleetwood mac record, it was the first time I'd ever heard electric slide guitar, I've always dug Jeremy slide playing & singing, I like to sing it at times aloud while working..
This is why Fleetwood Mac are so loved - because they are one of the very few bands who not only swapped musical genres - but played them beautifully too. Deep South Blues to West Coast Californian soft rock 🪨 that’s quite a shift ! To do that so seamlessly took a lot of raw talent - which they had in abundance of coarse. Cheers 🥂
I used to practice to this album in the 70's in my living room to get the blues. The whole album is filled with all the traditional blues rhythms and grooves. For those who want to get that in one album check this one out. Can't remember the name of the album but it was their only double album. Thank you Fleetwood Mac for your interpretation of American blues. Helped me a lot.
AND Danny Kirwan. Very, very underated and forgotten bluesman. And Mick was probably the best drummer you could find for a blues/rockband,steady as a rock. Same goes for John. This is the original "supergroup" if there ever was one. I´m afraid we will never hear a group as brutally good as FM ever again. =(
Agreed. Danny and Jeremy are really my favorites in the early lineup. And the Kiln House era rocks. Jeremy and Danny together in Purple Dancer is just awesome.
He put out some decent non-blues songs on the Kiln house album too. He could've really slotted into the 50s retro of the 1970s. Shame he became a child molester instead...
Those chords were Elmore's signature. Then each song evolves with different intention, different rhythm, different solos. He was great at that. Plus, listen to The Sky is Crying, Goodbye Baby and others. The man could play the blues, and that's all that matters 🎸
He Joined the family and ruined what could have been a great career. However people like me who grew up in the cult grew up hearing him sing religious songs a lot so there was that. He also was well known for his drawings in cult literature for kids.
Well, I've got both his family albums on cassette. They're not so rare on vinyl but sure are on cassette. His post family blues CDs , however, are just awesome, such as Precious Little and Bend in the Road. I think he's got more, but can't remember which they could be.
Nice performance by Jeremy. However, this is not from Amsterdam 1969, but from the Njardhallen in Oslo, Norway, november 3, 1969. The footage taken from the "Early Years" DVD I presume?
Brilliant playing from Jeremy Spencer
One of the Best blues bands EVER
An amazing era for Brit. blues, and these guys led the way. Thanks for posting
Anything showcasing Peter Green and Danny Kirwan is an immense privilege to hear.

You need add Danny kirwan too

So much talent in one band!
The best ever we missed this in our life time I am sure they must be making it up there.
Love the music 💙💙🎤🎸 Great Blues 💙🌟💙🌟💙🌟💙🌟💙🌟⭐️💫
Brill band wish they were all still here.
I think I’ve remembered what music should be like. Thank goodness we still have access to this.
Absolutely fantastic
Love Jeremy Spencer's Elmore interpretations... and what an amazing backing band!

New Fleetwood is pop crap
Two separate bands

Jeremy Spencer on the slide guitar, the always intense Danny Kirwan, and of course the great Peter Green. Enjoy
damn all you hear is "peter green" but jeremy spencer is awesome as well

@@sgdeluxedoc LOL "the Kiln house era" wasn't very long. Was it even 6 months?
Kiln house is a decent album. Needed a couple more tracks though.
que guitarrista .jeremi ... que lujo esta banda .. peter ... kirwan ... que banda...
Бриллианты , на века,.
Nice seeing Jeremy playing a Flying V.
ThordunnHeat only one person played it better! ALBERT KING!
Danny kirwan was awesome. Too seen an early incarnation of him here
Wish the camera work was better but happy these performances are available!
I love the good musicians
Very much in the style of Elmore James 👍
Jeremy is influenced by Elmore James...the king of the slide-guitar

Indeed. Thank you for the correction.
....le hacen un gran homenaje a Elmore !!!!!!
He lived in the shadows, such a shame .
Elmore 'possessing' a Brit... thanks you Lord !
cats sure laid it down as genuinely as any other

Elmore James :)
It's been all downhill for Fleetwood Mac after this...
For the blues fans..
Jeremy may be a one trick pony, but what a trick totally nails the blues
He put out some decent non-blues songs on the Kiln house album too. He could've really slotted into the 50s retro of the 1970s.
Shame he became a child molester instead...
You obviously haven't heard Spencer's discography to say such a thing.
Also like to see Madison blues.
Did all Elmore James songs sound alike? This sounds exactly like "Dust My Broom" just different lyrics.
Those chords were Elmore's signature. Then each song evolves with different intention, different rhythm, different solos. He was great at that. Plus, listen to The Sky is Crying, Goodbye Baby and others. The man could play the blues, and that's all that matters 🎸
he is abit like chuck berry uses the same structure and riff for alot of his songs, there are songs that are diffirent too though
All these early Fleetwood Mac vids show John Mcvie high AF….
He Joined the family and ruined what could have been a great career. However people like me who grew up in the cult grew up hearing him sing religious songs a lot so there was that. He also was well known for his drawings in cult literature for kids.

I knew Jerry in Lichfield in the 60swhen he played in a band, with the Charles bros John and Ian,good days.
Looks like McVie has popped a few pills beforehand.
A shame the cameraman wasn't smart enough to back off out of the closeups.
I PREFER JEREMYS SOUND WHEN HE PLAYED THE BIG GIBSON SEMI ON THE BLUES JAM IN CHICAGO RECORDED AT CHESS STUDIOS. DONT LIKE THE SOUND OF THAT FLYING V.
Alfie Henshall it actually sounds amazing dude
