- 🚢🌊 Welcome to Our First Day at Sea on P&O Iona! 🌊🚢
Hello, travel lovers! I'm Steve, your guide on this incredible journey through the stunning Norwegian Fjords aboard the magnificent P&O Cruises ship, Iona. 🛳️✨
In this second vlog of our series, join us as we embark on an exciting first day at sea filled with exploration, adventure, and unforgettable moments. Our journey started from Blackpool, Lancashire, UK, and we set sail from the Southampton cruise terminal on 6th July 2024.
🥞 Morning Delights
We kick off our day with a hearty breakfast at “The Quays” on deck 7, followed by our daily ritual of a strong double espresso at “Vista Cafe” on deck 8. ☕🍴
🚶♂️ Exploring the Ship
Our day is packed with activities as we tour the impressive P&O Iona. We take a sneak peek at the “Oasis Spa” on decks 5 and 6, and the “Oasis Gym” on deck 5. Unfortunately, I could only capture some parts of the gym due to privacy concerns. Next, we explore:
“Anderson’s Bar And Library” on Deck 6
“Ocean Studios” on deck 6
“The 710 Club” on deck 6
“The Limelight Club” on deck 6
“Art Gallery” on deck 6
“Headliners Theatre” on deck 6
“The Avenue Shopping” on deck 7
💪 Fitness and Fun
We squeeze in a 45-minute workout at the “Oasis Gym” on deck 5, followed by a fun session at the “Golf Nets” on deck 19. Gemma and I had a blast trying to hit the target!
🫖 Afternoon Tea & More
In the afternoon, we indulge in a delightful afternoon tea at the “Epicurean” on deck 17. Although we wished for more savoury treats, it was a lovely experience. 🍰🫖
🍷 Evening Elegance
We then head to the “Crow’s Nest” on deck 17 for drinks, and later to “The Glass House” on deck 7. The highlight of our day is the “Celebration Night” where we dress up in black tie and evening dress. It was our first experience of such an event, and we absolutely loved it! 🥂
🦞 Gourmet Dining
Our evening continues with a special dinner at the “Epicurean” on deck 17. We enjoyed a sumptuous meal of lobster, making it a perfect date night. 💑🍽️
🎧 Nighttime Fun
We cap off the night with a silent disco at the “Skydome” on decks 16 and 17, followed by more dancing and drinks at “The Club House” on deck 8.

Was great meeting you two on our P&O Cruise, always great meeting new people, we were blown away by your RUclips adventure, your doing incredible things and should be very proud of your success. Thank you for the comment and praise, I’m just at the very beginning of my RUclips journey and have lots to learn, one of them is not to get to tipsy at a silent disco! lol, I was not going to put up this part of the video as it’s embarrassing ha ha but then I think that would not be allowing people to see the good and the bad ha ha.

Yeh keep the silent disco part it’s fun and allows people to get to know the true you. Your correct, showing our vulnerable sides the mistakes we make on camera and the embarrassing parts we don’t want others to see we make on camera ha ha, but your correct, it’s good we leave these parts in. At the beginning I would retake the footage until I got it correct, now I just leave them in, it’s who I am, not perfect in anyway shape or form. Looking forward to watching some of your RUclips adventures, I will definitely keep in touch. 👍😀🛳️

I was in two minds about posting the footage of the silent disco as I was very drunk and I was embarrassed after watching it, I was in tears of laughter after watching it, but then thought would just leave it, I feel I might get some nasty comments coming my way after the disco ha ha, I feel I’m coming out of my shell more, I’m still very shy in front of the camera. Ha ha thank you for your comment and watching my vlog, I’ve learned a valuable lesson, don’t drink to much at a silent disco, I now know not to sing or attempt to sing when wearing noise cancelling headphones! Ha ha 🤣
Love all the information you give on your videos, would it be possible to do some without the fish bowl perspective please it really gives a distorted view.
Hi Kathryn, thank you for your support and watching all my vlogs. It really does mean a lot. I know what you mean about the fish bowl effect, it’s not great, I was and still learning. On the P&O Cruises vlogs I’ve not used this effect. This effect comes from using my Insta 360x3 camera and I now only use that camera when on excursions. But when I do use it I’m altering the camera views so this should not happen anymore. On the two vlogs for P&O Cruises that have gone up there is no fish bowl effect used which is much better. Great feedback and you are 100% corrrct. 👍😀🛳️

Morning Karen, that’s put a big smile on my face, it’s a special moment when you do something that as an impact on someone’s actions, let’s just hope you enjoy your cruise ha ha. I know you will and once you have done your first ever cruise you will wonder why you didn’t do it sooner, it’s a magical moment stepping onto that cruise ship and it’s very difficult to contain that excitement and you will both have big smiles on your faces. The fish bowl effect as sailed away on its last cruise ha ha

Just come back from the same cruise. It was great but hated the dress-up for Celebration Night. Just don't see the point.
Hi, thank you for your comment, dry grateful, hope you had a fantastic cruise. That’s what great about a cruise, you do the things you enjoy doing and miss the things you are not so keen on. We enjoyed the experience, this was this first time we have dressed up posh as a couple for 14 years, it’s not for everyone. There was lots of people places you could still drink and eat if you wanted a more casual affair. That’s why i love cruising. Thank you for watching my vlogs 👍😀🛳️
