4 Night Canoe Trip From Floodwood Pond Through The Saranac Lake Wild Forest, Fall 2023

- Logan takes a best friend Daniel who he served with in the Army on a 5 night canoe camping trip. They start on Floodwood Pond and end on Lower Saranac Lake. The fall color change was in full effect, the Adirondack weather was typical, the food was more than expected, and the memories were so amazing the next trip has already been planned for 2024. Everyday was an adventure full of paddling, site seeing, setting up camp, making fires, cooking food, and catching some great fish.
Another nice trip! I always look forward to visits with friends I served with in the Army.

I served in the army too 87 to 90. was in Fort Wainwright Alaska . I can't wait till my spring trip Mother's Day weekend. will you guys be up there that weekend? 7 day of pure heaven .
I served at Fort Wainwright from 83 to 86! Nice place to serve and lots of great memories.

Nice trip! My wife and I are looking forward to getting our new canoe into Saranac Lakes this Spring. Can't wait...although we're due for a bit more snow tomorrow. That may have been us flying over on our way into KSLK for a lunch stopover. We do that often.
Thank you! The Saranac Lakes is one of my favorite bodies of water. The views are great from a canoe but I’m sure there spectacular from way up above. Anytime I cross paths with a fellow canoe tripper it’s always awesome so hopefully it happens one day. I feel like catching fish is just paddle with my lines wet and hope I’m lucky enough to catch one lol. John is a fish magnet so I just follow him. No love lost for a AF vet in fact I would say your smarter than me lol. AF is the way to go.
Started at Floodwood,over to Little Square,i know every site on that pond. I've spent countless hours fishing there,one of my most favorite places to be. I've got to hit Saranac & Folensby Clear pond...just a beautiful area. I've got almost the same set up,Old Town Next and rather than your beautiful Cruiser i opted for a Prospector,only because it holds a bit more gear. Appreciate the excellent video guys,and thank you for your service. Maybe we will connect one day,be really cool getting Jay in on a trip to Little Square...keep those videos coming. It really is a beautiful area. I have yet to go anywhere in the ADK and not enjoy it there’s something really special up there. My only complaint about the Cruiser is that it’s not the greatest for holding gear, but it cruises lol. And there is no seat better than the Next and that canoe is a tank I’m never worried when paddling it. It was a great honor to serve, thank you. I’m glad you liked the video and we’ll certainly keep trying to produce better ones on our future trips. It’s a small world hopefully we cross paths at some point. First of all let me say thank you for your service Logan, I'm a Vietnam vet myself. The outdoors played a big part in my getting back to semi normal, lol. Another great video as usual, if you ever want a great spot for a family camping trip check out Rollins Pond which is behind Fish creek its my favorite campground by far.
