Every time I see one of your videos I get the urge to watch all Stargates through without a minute of sleep. :D But for real, intelligence is a difficult thing to measure. There are so many different types of intelligence.
true that and there is a lot of valid criticisms on IQ tests like - we can only measure some types of intelligence, you can improve your iq by doing more tests, the tets are very specific so people with lower education naturally fail, they need to be interpreted by a psychologists so that persons bias will affect your score and most importantly, its actually meant to track the mental development of children and isnt a valid tool for adults at all. HOWEVER if you have a high IQ in one area (measurable) there is a vey high chance you have a high IQ in other areas as well including those we cant measure. Exceptions would be autistic people who usually show an "atypical intelligence distribution" meaning they are absolute genius in 1 or 2 areas and average on the rest. Personally i did many iq tests (and being autistic) and my overall IQ was from 128 - 141 depending on the test but i got a language iq of 190 yet a spacial awareness iq of 100
Rush is by far the most develop character in SGU, he is the equivalent of Baal in my opinion. You love to hate him at first, but later on you kinda understand why he was so hard on everyone else. On a side note, can we just agree that Robert Carlyle is by far the best person cast for a Role in SGU. I never was too keen on Lt. Goddy2shoes (Scott) or even Chloe, although in her case I soften a bit more towards her near the end. Out of all the scientific entity in SG, aside from McKay, he is my favorite by far. And before someone goes out to the barricade, I will consider that Carter is more Military than scientific, one of the best scene in SGU involving Rush is in S1EP5 when for the first time Destiny goes into a collision course to a star to recharge, where he embrace death. I just love the scene where he realize that it make sense that Destiny would recharge in the most abundant source of power in the universe considering the time spent in space (I don't remember the time frame like 100 millions years or something). Anyway great character review. And here an other one, why not do one on Gen. Georges Hammond, RIP Don S. Davis. And I would really would like a full breakdown of the Goa'uld empire for their first dynasty up to when the Tau'ri reach the stargate.
Actually, Young was was the one that released Rush from the Nakai; he didn’t escape on his own. This was an intriguing action considering that Young marooned Rush on an alien planet in the previous episode. Don’t get me me wrong, this is an awesome video but Rush did not escape on his own. I always thought that the fact he went on to save Chloe (before realising her imbued potential) showed his before humane side. Robert Carlisle’s portrayal is fantastic and the character is awesomely faceted. I often wonder what he could have done if seasons 3+ would have been green lit.
Rush was right from the beginning and the Crew did not recognize it at first, because he is a difficult character to work with...but still, he was right... If they all were thinking before doing stuff, they could've got along from the start...but no, selfishness first...typical humans - stupid
@@skyserf Did both parties agree to someone having sex whilst using their body? That happened at least once and almost happened again until Eli brought up the only time in the show that it wasn't their body.
Mike Vasquez It might have been poor judgement and bad taste but it wasn’t really the same as rape. One of the consequences of rape would be the psychological effects of being forced into the act against ones will. The hosts wouldn’t have remembered the encounter. I don’t recall the times people had sex while using the stones. Was there an instance where someone didn’t tell the partner they weren’t themselves?
@@skyserf Yes, there was at least one instance when the connection got broken while having sex. In was in one of the early episodes - that's how they awkwardly discovered that the connection gets broken briefly, when destiny transitions to FTL or back.
Rush was a character that SG had never really had. It had smart people. It had genuises. It had Machiavellian character's. But Rush was the first Sociopathic Genius. He had the intelligence charisma and the casual disregard for other's wellbeing. He never accepted other's as equals he just told them what they wanted to hear so he could do what he wanted.
yes i think rush is art. Now we had the smart guys, Daniel, Carter, Rodney...id kinda like a comparison of those with rush. Id attribute Rodney to be actually smarter than Rush, Rodney also has the bigger ego but Rodney, despite being a dick, lacks the "coldheartness" that is often neccesary in desperate circumstances
Rush is probably my favourite character on the show, slightly ahead of Young and Eli. I don't think he is a malicious person, I think he actually values human life and the lives of his crewmembers, but I do think that he is ruthless and pragmatic to a fault, meaning he will not hesitate to sacrifice the few to save the many.
i think rush always ha the greater good in mind and is willing to sacrifice a few lives for the benefit of mankind. Actually Young should be able to appreciate this after all him being a high ranking military officer he definitely had to sacrifice some of his men to achieve a mission himself.
Rush is always full of him self. The whole reason he gets in danger and they are losing lives is because he assumes he knows better than everyone else leaving him to either get people in trouble or himself needing to be rescued by Eli usually Ord someone in the military.
Rush was a great character and brilliantly played by Carlyle but I still didn't like SGU, it was too much about politics and conspiracy and not enough about adventures through the gate
Almost pronounced Glasgow correct. It's Glas go you don't say the W Glasgow = Glass go =Glasgow. No disrespect to you I enjoy your videos I just cringe when people say Glasgow who are not from scotland as they almost never say it correct.
@@TheStargateGuy Sorry if I came across as an idiot lol. Anyway don't you upload videos anymore? If not thats a shame pretty sure your the only good youtuber for star gate content. If you've ran out of stargate content you can cover maybe do lore videos on other TV shows like the expanse or star trek or something? Anyway I subbed to you if you do videos in the future. Going to watch the rest of your videos as i'm currently watching Star gate SG1 for the 3rd time now, and will probably watch Atlantis and universe again aswell. The shows are classics.
I've always been so disappointed SGU never caught on and was cancelled so early in it's run.
Plot twist:
Rush was placed in stasis at the end of season 2 and is dreaming of the enchanted forest and him being Rumplestiltskin.
Woohoo another video! I miss universe and what it could’ve been.
After stargate universe, he became one of the few once upon a time characters that I liked!

Robert Carlyle is a great actor in BBC anything he does! I loved him as Dr. Rush and later as rumplestilskin in once upon a time!

The use of the communication stones in SGU was very creepy and at times, downright rapey.
Why do you think that? Both parties usually agreed to use them.

My top 5 favorite characters of stargate includes Rush
He's an utter MadLad. That's who he is.😁👍

Rush, I just love him. And only I want to see (and hear!) a fully modeled Pegasus gate in Stargate Network demo?
Good vid on such a bad guy lol. congratulations on 9k brother!😎👍
Rush is always full of him self. The whole reason he gets in danger and they are losing lives is because he assumes he knows better than everyone else leaving him to either get people in trouble or himself needing to be rescued by Eli usually Ord someone in the military.
Plot twist: They never woke Dr. Rush out of stasis because the Destiny crew doesn't trust him.
I'd like to think that Dr Nicholas Rush was based on Dan Winter
He was a condescending, pompous egomaniac.
Rush is a genius but Eli and Rodney is smarter than him.
Rush was a great character and brilliantly played by Carlyle but I still didn't like SGU, it was too much about politics and conspiracy and not enough about adventures through the gate

Thanks Jai, just goes to show how much time I have spend in Scotland. :)
