For them, there are no superior race, all are equal. West Malaysian should learn from them. This is what our sultans always mention but nobody listen. Religious party should never be allow in politic. You allow religious party to play politics, you get racist issue that never ends.

    Betul-betul salute Abang Jo.
Yes, it's not fair to put blames to only vernacular schools and UEC that creates divides when we know the fact that there also many other decentralize schooling streams. We have to thank our forefathers who fought for vernacular schools and it's important in cultivating the understanding of unique cultures, traditions and languages. That is why till today no single country with multi races can emulate the success of Malaysia. Just pick any neighboring countries. Due to homogeneous culture, they can never experiences the diversities such as multi festivities of different races like how Malaysian do. In Malaysia, every races enjoy celebrating every festive season. Many Non Muslim embrace Ramadan by fasting together. There are so much more examples that I believe we all can relate to.
Having said that, I do think that there are still much more initiatives Government and Education Ministry can do to improve Malay language proficiency among the students from vernacular schools. They should also introduce co-curriculars/programs/activities between national and vernacular schools to promote nationalism and togetherness.
"It is the similarities that bring us together, but only the differences will keep us together". This quote should resonate with many Malaysian like me who has friends of all races and religions from various background.
