This video will demonstrate how you can measure for, un-package, and install a typical horizontal blind purchased from a home improvement retailer, such as Lowes or Home Depot.
The shortening portion of this video is only suitable for cord-operated blinds, not cordless blinds.

Things you will need for the repair:
• Scissors
• Flathead screwdriver
• Drill with a Phillips bit and a drill bit set
• Tape measure
• Needle nose pliers
• Lighter

Could you explain how to tell the difference between ladder strings and lift strings? Thanks
The ladder strings support the front and back of the individual slats. The lift string often goes through the middle of each slat. This diagram will help: www.fixmyblinds.com/identify-your-part/wood-faux-wood-venetian-blind-diagram.html
Can you do this with blinds that have tapes rather than strings?

No, you can't use this process for shortening cordless blinds.

How do you fix/replace cord that lifts blinds from bottom once the cord/string breaks?
Hi Carole - When you want to raise or lower your blinds, do you pull on strings or do you just push/pull on the bottom rail? I need to know how your blind operates before I can let you know if it is repairable or not.

Can you show me how to trimmed down width from 180cm to 154cm? Because my window's width is 154cm but I can not get exactly size
I'm sorry, but we don't have any videos showing how to cut down blinds.
Better to just order blinds that fit. These look really similar to the Blindster blinds which are custom cut to your measurements at a fraction of the price.

what if you have no frame/wood box around you window?

How do you lower and raise the blind it ain't working on mine
Hi Dean, To raise and lower the blind, do you pull on strings or do you push and pull the bottom rail? Once I know how the blind works, I can help troubleshoot the problem.
@@fixmyblinds hi its a string. in the instructions it says pull towards the left to raise or lower to what height you want then pull string to the right to lock it into position. For some reason this isn't working on mine

@@fixmyblinds hi there I've figured it out now lol. I think the strings were jammed, I moved the slide backwards and forwards put the blind back up and it's working now lol. Thankyou for your replys not many people want to help lol.

Hi Gino - Horizontal blinds are made up of slats that lay horizontally. Even though they raise up and down, they are still called "horizonal" because of how the slats rest. It's the same thing for vertical blinds: they are called vertical because the slats hang up and down vertically.
