    So relaxing to walk, and very informative without any need to speak.
    I wanted to try this technique with a much smaller "stone" (although in this case I'd be using a round glass charm). Do you think this could work on a very small scale?

  • @LubchoMacrameJewelry
    @LubchoMacrameJewelry  11 лет назад +1

    Hi,
    well, you need to be quite patient with macrame and for sure you will get better with practice. I didn't use any special knots at the end, just regular double half hitch and tie it as much as you can. It works better with polyester waxed cord. Good luck. ;)

    I want to thank you first off for such wonderfully informative and detailed videos...awesome! Secondly, I see conflicting supply items for micro macramé...some say to use .5mm S-Lon Beading Cord and your supplies (and many others I've seen) call for the 1mm size cord; for a beginner is the 1mm better? Does the S-Lon Cord (.5mm) create a much smaller piece? I hope to hear your thoughts. Oh, and do you have any recommendations for sturdy work surface? Is it best to get the macramé boards or use (as you have) clipboards? Sorry to be such a novice, I really want to learn this art form and not quite sure where to start. Perhaps you might recommend a good book maybe? Thanks again! Happy New Year!!!!

    • @LubchoMacrameJewelry
      @LubchoMacrameJewelry  9 лет назад +2

      Renee Mcclain You are very welcome and thank you =) I always use 1mm, I think it is just the perfect size and much easier to work with, especially for beginners. I think macrame boards are very nice to work with, I would recommend those =) And for the book, I don't know actually, I found some in our library, but they are all in Slovenian language. Happy New Year to you too! =)

    Hello,
    This is the best tutorial on this subject i have found. Thank you so much.
    I have attempted this technique though and got bad results :( i'm amateur and i know my knots will become more consistent in time. But i could never get the finished result tied around my cabachon tight enough. Do you use a special knot to tie it in at the end? you seem to be able to pull the knot tighter even after having done it. Or is this just a feature of the cord used?
    thanks!

    hello. wonderful tutorial. however, every time i try to tie them around the stone, the bottom is always to big for the stone and the top fits. do you have any advise on this problem?

    • @MappingAmy
      @MappingAmy 10 лет назад

      helloo, thank you for the turorial. I am having the same problem as Daniel... The outside where the double half hitch was made always ends up too big for the stone, and the inside, almost too small =/ It's also very hard to keep the surrounding cord exactly parallel to the inside cord since it becomes very wavy in the making process.. I've tried keeping the loops further apart as well but when it comes to wrapping the stone, still the same problem.. hmm

    • @LubchoMacrameJewelry
      @LubchoMacrameJewelry  10 лет назад +1

      Hi, thank you both =) Well, hmm, I must say I don't have this problem. Maybe sometimes comes to this when the stone is not very symmetrical? Or if you don't tie all the knots the same tight... I understand the second line with the double half hitch comes a bit longer and this is the one that needs to fit perfectly to your stone (so that it doesn't fall out) and then you adjust the upper line... You make more space between the knots all around. But it really shouldn't come the second line so much longer. You need to be pretty precise, while knotting. Good luck! ;)

    • @MappingAmy
      @MappingAmy 10 лет назад +1

      Thank you for replying! Indeed the second line needs to be the right size, which is tricky to measure, as this will change depending on what cords you use. I've realised that I can make two extra knots on the first line for each folded cord and then both lines will be equal. Many thanks and happy knotting!

    Im new to macrame and i would like to do a bracelet like this...but how many cords do i use in total? And do i measure my stone?

    • @LubchoMacrameJewelry
      @LubchoMacrameJewelry  9 лет назад +2

      Esther Mendez Hi =) Well you just have to try it. When you think you have enough cords you put them around your stone, then you see how many cords approx. you still have to add it or remove it, simple as that.

    • @katiemacormic7685
      @katiemacormic7685 9 лет назад

      +Esther Mendez enough around the stone but not to many either otherwise it'll fall out. Same w/ beading

    • @heatherwatson8273
      @heatherwatson8273 8 лет назад

      +Esther Mendez Hi remember that the cords are folded in half when you attach them to the top cord. I don't measure my stones and just add another one or two cords on at the end if I need to. Take your stone and roll it along your work you should only be able to roll the stone over once, so on the side of the stone use a marker pen or a piece of sticky tape to mark your start line which also is your finish line, then roll the stone one complete turn on it's side or edge, if it completely turns once from your start mark to finish at the same mark, you have the right size, other wise take off strings or add more which ever is needed, now pull the cords together to enclose the stone and tie the first two knots to completely enclose the stone. Remember to stop the video so you can catch up and restart it when you are ready.

    Hello I am sharing a message from fellow beaders who have come to find out that there is a person who started the following website: ......... enjoyhandmade.com ..........and is taking videos from RUclips, posting them on her website without permission, changing wording around and taking credit and collecting money from those videos. I know I have seen a lot of videos from the people that I subscribe to on her website and don't know if you/they have granted permission, but thought you might want to know what is going on if you did not grant permission. For more details you can check " beading4perfectionists" channel who brought this to my attention
