The metro to Vynogradar was supposed to be opened in 2021 (and plans for its construction have existed since the end of the 70s. Hah. Line 5 in Kyiv should be on the left bank of Dnipro river, connecting orange, red, yellow and green lines. Line 5 will be of light-blue color. There is also a plan to build tram/metrotram instead. But no real plans for that in the nearest future. Only a tunnel under railway is under construction right now, but it won't be used by trams in the nearest future.
Not so much skipping. The first planned line 5 (light blue) was planned to be on the left bank, but the idea was scrapped in favor of a tram line (only the northernmost part of it currently exists). Much later another idea for a new line 5 appeared (yellow), which is the one you see on the map. Some people didn't get the memo that the light blue line won't be built and assumed that the yellow line is line 6, but in fact there are no plans for line 6.
Before they planned sky-blue line 5 Levoberezhnaya which seemed like a wise idea as city on the eastern bank of Dnipro is densely populated, stretched and narrow, perfect for metro line, but I guess it's no longer considered

Great video, even as a Kyivan, I wasn't even aware of stations like Hertsena (aka Zahorivska) or Berkovets. The M6 is unlikely due to the City Circle line now under development as a part of Kyiv City Express projects. The M5, which is suppoed to run along the left bank alongside the planned Kyiv City Express lines (S-Bahn), which also makes it slightly inefficient. I also noticed in your video that the stations at the end of the M4 in Troyeschyna-Vyhurivschyna are slightly different to most plans I saw on the web. What sources did you use when doing that line on the map?
The light blue line is not planned anymore, instead there are plans to extend the rapid tram (light rail) from Troieshchyna all the way south to Osokorky. As for the Troieshchyna metro, I think that's from the 2040 general plan of the city. Now that we have 3 separate general plans I have no idea which one is valid, a quick Google search shows that the 2020 plan is valid even though its deadline is over. Anyway, this version of metro to Troieshchyna will not happen, originally it made sense because there were plans to construct housing in that region but the court didn't allow it because that's a nature reserve ("Троєщинські луки"). So it's not clear how line 4 will end in that region.

Там на карте нарисовано построят метро до Берковцов и Троещенского кладбища, зачем тянуть метро до кладбищь. Если протянут метро до Дарнцкого вокзала, тогда по чему не построить метро дальше на ДВРЗ. Короче есть вопросы по расположению новых станций.

I have a few comments as someone who is from a suburb of Kyiv. First, a lot of these planned stations will have to be renamed. Their project names don't fit Decommunization laws, sometimes also Derussification laws. For example, Ploshcha Peremohy will probably be Halytska Ploshcha (as the square was renamed accordingly). There's no way that almost useless stations like Promyslova and Telychka are gonna be built before metro in Troieshchyna. The entire line 4 is often called "metro to Troieshchyna" (even though that's not the only point of the line), just because that maintains the hype for it. Now, speaking of metro in Troieshchyna itself: it's definitely not going to look like in the video. That plan assumed that the currently empty area (projected stations Tsvietaievoi and Pukhivska) will have new construction, but apparently the plans to build on the land were ruled illegal by the court because that's a nature reserve (Troieshchynski luky). And finally, the names for all the stations on the yellow line (supposed to be line 5, not 6) are unknown, the original proposal of the line did not name any stations. Overall though, the video is good, it shows the expansion plans mostly accurately. There's just one extension missing - phase 4 of metro to Vynohradar, which is supposed to go to Old Vynohradar and Vitriani Hory, though I see why it is omitted, there plans do not clearly outline where the station(s) will be located.
Some names are off, like "Druzhby Narodiv" is "Zvirynetska" now, and "Ploshcha Peremohy" might be named "Halytska Ploshcha", because the name of the square where the station would be located was changed to the historical name Halytska square But thank you a lot for this video ❤
Could you please make Warsaw next? Last year, plans of constructing 5 metro lines until 2050 were released by the city, so there are definitely a few things to cover, even with just two lines currently. You can also add the WKD and SKM lines, since they serve as basically an overground metro for the suburbs but also parts of the city not serviced by metro. Also after you’ve already done Warsaw, Budapest would be nice as well

None of the M6 stations have any approved names, most were made up by someone (no idea who) but they're not official. I think the City Centre name originates from the idea to build a new government quarter in Telychka but that's probably not happening. Meanwhile M5 is not planned anymore, it was replaced by light rail in plans. And looking at newest plans of M4 I can find, option 2 seems to be more popular (which I think is good, the only problem is it's unclear how the line will end).
Good but some proposed stations have different names due to decommunization/derusification of different places. You named Varshavska right, but there are other different proposed names of proposed stations. Bucharest would be interesting to compare. Starting in the 1970s and being half the size of Kyiv, it has built already 5 metro lines, the 6th under construction and starting the 7th (although most of them are shorter). Also Sofia which has 4 lines now (actually 3 and a tail), but navigation there, compared to Kyiv, is stupid (or rather non-existing). You stand on the platform and you can't see which way to which stations.

Они ездят со скоростью метро, встраиваются в автодорожную инфраструктуру, не занимают много места, почти бесшумные, на порядок дешевле и много других плюсов. Думаю, что из всех городов СНГ только в Москве имеет смысл развивать метро, потому что на 13,5 млн человек важно развивать все виды транспорта, иначе город встанет и нельзя остановиться на чем-то одном. Мэру пришлось потратить чудовищно много сил на перестройку всех транспортных потоков от переноса производств до развязок за пределами города, чтобы убрать лишний транзит и маятниковую миграцию. Это триллионы ежегодных вливаний, чтобы просто выйти на темпы ввода по станции в месяц. В случае с трамваем это будут уже не триллионы, а миллиарды и можно вводить трамвайную сеть гораздо быстрее. В СНГ станции глубокого заложения, поэтому это не дешевое дело. Даже Питеру трамвая более чем достаточно
Разница в том что метро будут строить дальше не при зелёной петрушке, а при нормальных людях. Потому что кое-кому головой надо было думать, а не слушать так называемых "друзей".

В Киеве есть огромный район Троещина. Там проживает сейчас 360 тысяч жителей. И метро в этот район было запланировано и появилось на схемах уже в 1980-х. Но власти упорно его не строят, каждый раз придумывая какие либо причины и отговорки Зато собирают голоса избирателей перед выборами, обещая эту ветку метро. После выборов, забывают о метро на очередные 5 лет. - А сейчас чиновникам вообще легко оправдываться т.к идёт большая война, забирающая все средства. А жители Троещины, всё также мучаются, выезжая с района в основной город, по одному единственному мосту, на котором всегда пробки.

The deep stations were also very clever because they were built during the Cold War and could be used as bomb shelters if anyone dared

That plan assumed that the currently empty area (projected stations Tsvietaievoi and Pukhivska) will have new construction, but apparently the plans to build on the land were ruled illegal by the court because that's a nature reserve (Troieshchynski luky).
And finally, the names for all the stations on the yellow line (supposed to be line 5, not 6) are unknown, the original proposal of the line did not name any stations.
Overall though, the video is good, it shows the expansion plans mostly accurately. There's just one extension missing - phase 4 of metro to Vynohradar, which is supposed to go to Old Vynohradar and Vitriani Hory, though I see why it is omitted, there plans do not clearly outline where the station(s) will be located.
Some names are off, like "Druzhby Narodiv" is "Zvirynetska" now, and "Ploshcha Peremohy" might be named "Halytska Ploshcha", because the name of the square where the station would be located was changed to the historical name Halytska square

Really nice video! Can you also do the evolution of the Athens metro?
Could you please make Warsaw next? Last year, plans of constructing 5 metro lines until 2050 were released by the city, so there are definitely a few things to cover, even with just two lines currently. You can also add the WKD and SKM lines, since they serve as basically an overground metro for the suburbs but also parts of the city not serviced by metro.
Also after you’ve already done Warsaw, Budapest would be nice as well
Loved it! The lines and their colours are similar to the São Paulo metro system in Brazil.

The video turned out to be quite interesting, this is what I have been waiting for a long time, a high-quality video of the evolution and future of the metro of my hometown. As for the future, there are names that were used for the names of stations, mainly from the names of nearby streets, which were renamed since the beginning of the war. M4 has 8 such stations, and M6 has 3, and one of them is "Siti-Tsentr" (City Center), I would like to know more about this version of the station name, since this area is not the center of Kyiv. I also want to note that in this regard, the M5 is missing, or the Livoberezhna (Left Bank) metro line, which should have been here.
And the most important thing I wanted to say concerns the planned M4 to Troyeshchyna. The thing is that there are 2 options for M4 routes to Troyeshchyna, these are along Prospekt chervonoyi kalyny (Red Viburnum Avenue), which runs through the center, and the second option along Onore-de-Balʹzaka (Honore de Balzac street), where the high-speed tram runs to the Kyiv City Express station. Why are there two options?
Option 1 is cheaper, because the tram can be replaced with an overground metro
Option 2 is more expensive, because there is no space on the surface for it, so it must be laid only underground, but this covers more residential areas

None of the M6 stations have any approved names, most were made up by someone (no idea who) but they're not official. I think the City Centre name originates from the idea to build a new government quarter in Telychka but that's probably not happening. Meanwhile M5 is not planned anymore, it was replaced by light rail in plans. And looking at newest plans of M4 I can find, option 2 seems to be more popular (which I think is good, the only problem is it's unclear how the line will end).
Good but some proposed stations have different names due to decommunization/derusification of different places. You named Varshavska right, but there are other different proposed names of proposed stations.

Bucharest would be interesting to compare. Starting in the 1970s and being half the size of Kyiv, it has built already 5 metro lines, the 6th under construction and starting the 7th (although most of them are shorter).
Also Sofia which has 4 lines now (actually 3 and a tail), but navigation there, compared to Kyiv, is stupid (or rather non-existing). You stand on the platform and you can't see which way to which stations.

Я думаю, что для городов менее 8 млн населения лучше подойдет хорошая трамвайная сеть. Они ездят со скоростью метро, встраиваются в автодорожную инфраструктуру, не занимают много места, почти бесшумные, на порядок дешевле и много других плюсов.
Думаю, что из всех городов СНГ только в Москве имеет смысл развивать метро, потому что на 13,5 млн человек важно развивать все виды транспорта, иначе город встанет и нельзя остановиться на чем-то одном. Мэру пришлось потратить чудовищно много сил на перестройку всех транспортных потоков от переноса производств до развязок за пределами города, чтобы убрать лишний транзит и маятниковую миграцию. Это триллионы ежегодных вливаний, чтобы просто выйти на темпы ввода по станции в месяц. В случае с трамваем это будут уже не триллионы, а миллиарды и можно вводить трамвайную сеть гораздо быстрее. В СНГ станции глубокого заложения, поэтому это не дешевое дело. Даже Питеру трамвая более чем достаточно

Зато собирают голоса избирателей перед выборами, обещая эту ветку метро.
После выборов, забывают о метро на очередные 5 лет.

А жители Троещины, всё также мучаются, выезжая с района в основной город, по одному единственному мосту, на котором всегда пробки.
