I am a seasoned keyboardist,I played a kawai today and I thought yamaha was the end all for keybds but I was mistaken. The kawai collections is the one of the best Ive ever played from a standpoint of being close's to the real thing.
After a couple of months' searching for the best and most suitable digital piano available, suddenly and unexpectedly a Kawai MP7 turned up in one of the websites for used instruments. I eventually managed to buy it yesterday.☺ This time good luck seems to be on my side, the piano is in "like new" condition, so now I'm a really happy pianist. Thanks Kawai! NB: Originally I wanted to get a MP11 SE, and a brand new one, but in these virus-stricken times and economic recession that has proved to be impossible.
Both MP11 and MP7 have Virtual Technician feature. BUT! MP11 has 10 parameters, MP7 has 9 ones. Which one is missing? Brilliance is missing in MP7! Why they have excluded this parameter? And how critical it is? I don’t know. Any thoughts? P.S. Some people complain about Grand Feel action in MP11. They say it is too light. That’s make me worry, because I don’t like light keyboard actions. I prefer to practice on quite heavy keyboard actions.
+KAWAIeurope Hi, thank you so much for your detailed video. I have 3 questions: 1/ Did you notice a difference between MP7 and MP11 when it comes to nuances and fine details in your playing? On another video, it seemed to me that MP11 was more subtle, as if there was more steps and variations for each key. Was it just an impression? 2/ Through MIDI backing files and MIDI IN connection, can we play the sounds of the MP7 from an external MIDI player? 3/ If point 2 is possible, can we mute the action when we do that, so that we can simulate playing without interfering with the MIDI backing file? Thanks in advance for your reply.
Hi, the reorder doesn't have quantization. Choir and Pipe Organ sounds are existing of course. There are 256 sounds in the MP7. Please refer to the sound list in the manual on our websites.
Help Is the mp7 the successor of the mp6 ? Other question : does it have drums patterns ? It sounds really great ? What is the différences between mp6 and mp7 ? Thanks
«Is the mp7 the successor of the mp6 ?» - Yes. «Other question : does it have drums patterns ?» - Yes. 100. «It sounds really great ?» People say Yes, but you can evaluate it by your own ears. The MP7 has 32 of the best MP11 sounds, but MP7 has 256 sounds in total. The main difference is of course the action. MP11 offers real wooden keys using our GrandFeel action, while the MP7 uses our RH2 plastic keys action used already for ES7 as well.
KAWAIeurope I just played a Kawai MP10 at my local retailer and fell in love with the keyboard action. However, I think the MP7 features are more suited for my needs. Can you please try to explain how close the keyboard feel & response is compared to the MP10? Is the key weight very similar?
KAWAIeurope I see it wobbles sometimes. I want the most stable keyboard stand for MP7. Can you recommend something? Price is doesn't matter. What do you think about K&M 18950 stand? You use this stand in your MP11 demo with Asuka Matsumoto and MP11 completely stable on it. But that is for MP11, I don't know how this stand will be for MP7, because K&M 18950 has depth 395 mm and MP7 has depth 339 mm. Is that problem or not?

I want upload a demo of the drum set.
Nice!
Dear kawai,
Can I please get this unit for free. I have always wanted a premium keyboard. I hope to get an email soon.
Thanks.
Isaac
did you get it?
:D
Lol, the definition of "worth a shot"
Question, can you adjust the key action on the MP7? Love the Polyphony:-)
You can set several Touch Curves, but you cannot mechanically change the weight. No DP can do that.
I'm thinking touch response?? Sorry for the illiteracy about name of :-)

Does the recorder have quantization?
Does it have choir and Pipe Organ sounds?

Can anyone suggest me what kind of amplifier suit best for this digital piano?
For the most realistic sound look at a small pair of studio monitors e.g. KRK Rokit series. Around 5" should be big enough.
bought one yesterday
+Roland Rhodes Thank you!
does this instrument has SMOOTH SOUND TRANSITION?
+Kapil Rathod Yes, the MP7 keeps sounding as long as you hold the notes even after switching a sound. The next Note On will use the new sound then.
+KAWAIeurope ohh that's the great! really this instrument it 100% in its own!

+andy verdugo It does, and it's pretty damn good!
+Jim Fisher thanks
Very nice. Anybody know what keyboard stand that is?
Never mind, found it. K&M 18810 Omega Table-Style.
Correct!

Mine doesn't wobble, well maybe a bit, but if it does I really don't notice it when playing.
