Love this song. Actually heard it for the first time at the end of the Timothy Treadwell documentary, Grizzly Man.

Don was a great Western artist and a true cowboy poet. It's great to introduce him to the channel. By the way, he's originally from the Garden State, but he made his way out to Texas when he was still a teenager to experience the cowboy life. 🤠

Don Edwards is a renowned cowboy/poet, who's work is archived in the Library of Congress. Thematically this song reminds me of an old Kirk Douglas modern day Western called "Lonely are the Brave". Sadly even today we are losing more and more of our woodlands and more and more wildlife are being displaced. Sad, beautiful song thank you for a great request sagebrush and a great reaction/rating Don.---#UTRCM

First time I’ve heard of him. I really like it! Perfect song for the mood I’m in this morning. Great request and reaction.

I couldn't wait to tell you that Don Edwards was from NJ, a hotbed of country music. I met him in Colorado where he was playing in Michael Martin Murphey's West Fest. I didn't know he was from NJ at that time. He had such a smooth voice, very Western sounding. Ralph Emery on Nashville Now always compared him to Marty Robbins. A well-deserved rating and a thank you to Sagebrush for bringing him to your attention.

If Don's songs don't resonate with you, you have no soul.
