Thank you for uploading. My parents used to have this playing in the car on the way home from a long day of sailing and I would fall asleep in the back seat, the youngest of 4 kids. Perfect reminder of simpler times. ❤️🙏🏽
"Theater of the mind" indeed. I love how these tales require the participation of listeners, adding their imagination and experiences to bring these programs to life. More interactive than any video game or virtual reality gadget ever designed.
I don't remember this episode of CBS Mystery Theatre, I'm surprised it ran as long as it originally did, I used to listen at night 9-10pm on Denver's 850 KOA in 1973-75
I high school we would take our dates out and park out in boonies, break out the beer and listen to mystery theatre. This was in 1963, guess that would never happen now days.
Remember hearing almost all of these when I was younger...Hard to imagine being entertained by just spoken words these days...but back then it was just the thing.
"A House of Cards" could've inspired Fallout, including Vault-Tec. Wow. Just like how Veldt (forgot which programme it's from) could've inspired the holodeck from Star Trek
@@aneveningofoldtimeradio found out at the end of the story. Harrison Bergeron and Kilgore Trout are Vonnegut characters. Puzzled and startled me a bit.

You did a great job on the background. The tv module, is great. As well as the images through the window.
Thank you!

Harrison Kilgore cruiser? Vonnegut write the first story?
Martian Sam was written by Ernest Kinoy 👍
