I just got a Kyosho Blizzard Trail King today and updated my firmware on my Radiolink RC4GS and your video helped make controlling the Trail King so much easier. Thanks for this video info !!!
@@TheTankRC however one thing I can't figure out is when I turn the controller wheel right, the Blizzard turns left and vice versa....How do I fix that so that when I turn controller wheel to right, the blizzard turns in that direction ???......NEVER MIND, I figured it out, just switched channel one and two around on receiver. Now turns in direction I want.
Nice, that`s just how it works on my old Heavy Metal Tank and the old Blizzard with two different type of MSC you drive it like a car with the old stick controller or a pistolgrip.
I started with the rc6 and stepped down to the rc4. I just didnt see a need for 6ch. I honestly enjoy them both. I did experuence mild glitching with the the 6 and never could figure it out tho. Not one issue on the 4. Good video!
@@TheTankRC I have not. I feel it could help and plan to do so. However for the moment with the rc4gs v2, they work great with both the drag race car and my crawlers. The fiance operates the same radio now for her rigs as well.
I've just used a gt2 flysky and a V-TAIL mixer from an rc plane, its a simple radio that let's the mixer do all the work on an old rc called the Taiyo Scorcher 6x6 and its a cheaper option, the mixer only cost $10👍
Great vid! Liked. Perfect setting. How long have you had it? One of my motors fried after 3 runs. Looking to gear down w BLW1 but great hobbies said this pinion set is discontinued. Have you modified the gearing? I bought metal tracks for it and it's VERY heavy . Kyosho parts supply is pathetic.
Saw your video and ordered the same radio and receiver. They'll be here today and I'm going to install them immediately. Will this work with the stock receiver that comes with the RC6GS?? Mine is coming with the R7FG.
UPDATE: I was able to set up the radio on my Blizzard FR. I also figured out steering dual-rates and it helped smooth out steering. I'll do some testing and update you with a good setting for this. Finally, I'm sad to report that the "cruise control" feature of the firmware update will not work properly when you are set up with ST and TH mixed.
@@flavordave7312 I am glad it worked out for you and i completely did not check the "cruise control" fetcher, But I can see why it would not work due to the mixing
So I was able to get out between rain squalls and do a little testing. Dual rates on steering seems to work well at about 75%. That slows steering down when traveling at full throttle, but still can do donuts at low speed.
Any suggestions on how to set a winch ? Right now it's on a switch #5 I think . It's easy to hit by accident . I was wondering about putting it on a button but not sure how or if it would work
Switch B or C on the radio link or three way switches you need to put the winch there and when the switch is in the center position it won’t go nowhere. The switch B or C is the one right over the steering wheel
B is the one I have it on . I didn't know if they're was a way to put it on d to turn it on or off or something . I have hit the b switch before and pulled hook through the bumper . Didn't end up well . Lol thank you . I learned about 4 wheel steering from another one of your videos . Helped a lot with a crawler I'm putting together now . Thank you great help
Make sure both Channel 1 and channel 2 has no trim or different throttle curves on it. If that does not work you might have something binding the track on one side and it causes heat resistance, or maybe one of your motor is dying and it's weaker
@@TheTankRC I just installed brand new Hobbywing 1060 ESC's and new Traxxas Titan 380 18T motors. I also installed wheel bearings all around and each wheel spins free with no bind. I also have no trim settings or throttle curve, all those are default set. So I am scratching my head on this issue
@@picsmedia Did you install one Hobbywing 1060 ESC or 2 of them? You have to drive 2 motor and if you do it with one ESC on one ESC it might be the issue
@@TheTankRC two 1060's all wired the same as stock. I checked chain tension in front and even belt tension....Basically when I slightly pull trigger throttle forward, the right side spins while left doesn't. The left then begins to spin after I pull throttle trigger further more. So when I have it on the ground driving around trying to drive straight, it's pulling towards the direction of the right since the right spins faster than the left.
That is strange, on the stick radio you won’t notice that as much because you control the throttle on both sticks but on a pistol grip it might be a different issue. Looks like you’ve done everything to troubleshoot so I’m not sure how I can help you with this trouble. The next step if I was you I would swap the ESC‘s on each motor and swap channel 1 and two and see if the trouble follows the ESC
I'm done running Mt Blizzard for the year, I only run in the snow and spring is coming on in northern Illinois. I'm in a little suburb just outside of Chicago heading west.
VERY HELPFUL! Even for those of us on different transmitters. I can confirm this works with a DX5 Pro.
That would be good to know, keep me posted on the result.
@@TheTankRC Yep, tested and works perfectly. Thanks for putting this up!
Cool, thanks for the update
Thanks, just getting into RC and 3d printing a Rover and was trying to learn how to set everything up.
Glad I could help
I just got a Kyosho Blizzard and I love it. Will order a RadioLink RC6 now thanks to your tutorial. Much appreciated.
Thanks for watching, and I like that this could help you
@@TheTankRC Received the RC today, followed your instructions and all is working brilliantly. Only now the snow is gone ....
@@hessenvan9317 I am glad it worked out for you, and I am sorry I cannot control the weather…. LOL 😂
The more I use the radio link the more I like it

I am so happy to hear that it was helpful, this is the main reason I do these videos to help out. Thanks for watching and your support.

Awesome how to Frank! Very nice man! That Blizzard is cool! 👍😃👍
Great video! I'm about to build a tracked rover and will follow your instructions. Thanks...
Great information and video my friend
I am glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching the video and you comment.
Awesome video 🤩🤩👍
Nice u got blizzard running again
Yes, just in time for the snow storm.
just got mine and works with stock esc and motors and the plow and thanks for this video
Awesome I am glad it helped 😀
Nice video that will help a lot of people
Love my rc6gs v2. If you use id seed you can control multiple trucks from one radio
nice how to video and installition
Cool tank! You would like to see my homemade 1/5 49cc RC car!
Awesome thank you

Hello, great video. How can i change the steering direction when i turn the wheel from right to left? In my opinion, the direction is the wrong way.

Hi nice video, what Voltaje are your motors ? can you send me the link if you know what motors are you uisng ? thanks
I am using all stock electronic. I did not upgrade any motor or ESC.

I haven’t seen one of those since I was a kid. Do they still make those or did you just find it on eBay or something?
Oh they still make them this is the new version is the 2.0

Are you able to do this with a ESC that has dual motor outputs?
Yes only if the ESC has independent dual motor control outputs
@@TheTankRC thank you!
