El-P fucking devastated Sole on this track - but I have to admit, Sole's original diss track was pretty funny when he made fun of El-P for using the word "indelible" too much. I always noticed that when I listened to "Funcrusher Plus".

@@sdp026 if you are a fan of EL-P for 20 years and never heard of Indelible Emcees, you can’t call yourself an EL-P fan, seriously, not trying to be funny here, I mean if you listened to Funcrusher Plus indelible Emcees are on there, If you listened to Lyricist Lounge, Indelible Emcees are on there, and then just recently on Billy Woods new record EL-P shouts indelible again with the track featuring Breezy Bruin, who is also part of Indelible.

I remember when "Dear Elpee" came out I remember thinking El-P can't come back from that. Then El-P went ahead & committed verbal homicide on this track & using Sole's voice from that phone call was just the nail in the coffin.

I agree BUT I think people still talk about this diss because it's classic. Sole came hard on "Dear Elpee", albeit totally paranoid, but El-P served him his own ass here for sure.
I totally agree though, both of these dudes have done tones of shit to advance underground hip hop. They both have expansive back catalogues that are dope, and they're both still making amazing music to this day. Both men deserve props for that.
I really really like Dear Elpee. And aside from not being too familiar with his solo stuff,sole has some of my favorite verses on the Deep Puddle album but this track and El are just superior all around. Obviously irrelevant now but everyone has to choose their favorite attack. But then again as a Co Flow fan I may be biased or maybe it's the phone call lol "I wanna be doown!" With co flow too

I will say Sole has had great shit. Bottle of Humans is an incredible album.

To the best of my knowledge one of Sole's earliest releases was called "The Record that got Co Flow Scared" in the late 90s, maybe pre-anticon, then came the phone call and this diss, THEN Sole released "Dear El-p"
