An afternoon when time stood still Insects, metallic insects An afternoon when time stood still A thousand elephants changing course in an instant Swelling and rippling like a river Flowing high with cresting waves Clouds form and reform in a strong wind Never stopping in one place An afternoon when time stood still Sliced time, time womb Children play in a forest of feathers Endless movement and change in a seamless texture Diving with a falling vortex Nothing ever happens twice Floating with a rising vortex Nothing ever happens twice
Oh yeah! Always a great day to discover a here-to-for previously unseen (@ least to me personally) video by imminently listenable artist Sakamoto. This video has really made my day; & I sincerely owe the uploader my thanks & praises. Gems such as this one are too few & far between. Thank You!
thank you two mr. sakamoto ryuichi is a famous japanese musician, actor and who used to being appeared across-the-board. you all surely know merry christmas mr. laurence which he dedicated music and presence. the movie itself has a deep meaning in cultural encounter in WW2 . this track is not so famous though it has to me, a profund meaning of lif.
Yeah, he's one of my favourite composers! He should have won an oscar last year for The Revenant score, but he was disqualified for collaborating with multiple people. I also love a lot of the solo work by his YMO bandmates Haruomi Hosono and Takahashi Yukihiro. All three of them did great work in YMO and solo as well.
@@vampyrelycan99 The Bara-Can is 71 yo now. But I think he’s become so Japanologified (it’s a word. Look it up) that he’ll live into his 90s. I hope so. Japanophile. Lyricist. Educator. Humanitarian. @@Torahboy1 Pete is a different kind of "gaijin talent/personality" legend. Pete has simply become part of the 80s J-music cultural scenario and is inseparable from that. If unfortunately something happens to him that means the entire 80s J-music culture equally go down the drain, which is sad, as many younger generation of audiences don't know how to cherish those good old (music) stuff...... It's one of my favorite promo videos and one of my favorite songs of his. Is the out-of-sync part at the end intentional? It makes me feel slightly dizzy.
I DL'd it from someone else on yutube, but when their video disappeared I figured I should upload it. There is another version of this on yutube under the Japanese character title.
Hey I think that was me :) I had uploaded it a while ago from a Chinese website after another person got taken down haha then my youtube account got taken down also lol. Either way I just wanna say thank you so much!!! :)
@@kaguth Wow. I first saw this on RUclips in 2006. I don't remember the name of the account that uploaded it, but for years and years I couldn't find it again until I randomly remembered some of the lyrics, typed 'em into Google and bang, here I am.
Happy 40th anniversary to this album. I still have my original vinyl from 1984 and I'm listening to it today.

Rest in Peace Ryuichi. You were and will always be the greatest.

I always thought I had good taste in music. Confirmed again.

No, it's just that the original clip is a bit out of sync with the album track but I put the track over it for quality
Just put myself on to this I'm fuckin wit it tough tho. Knockers.
