When I was a kid we would “ride the pipe” at wreck pond. It was good at low tide and around low tide but couldn’t be done at high tide. Some species of fish would come through the pipe and you could see them and dip net them although I think that was illegal.
I remember visiting Spring Lake years ago. I really liked the boardwalk.

Hurricanes Irene and Sandy were truly a huge disaster to “the shore”.
