Great video, Adam! It's obvious you still have very strong feelings about this movie and the role it played in your childhood and beyond. Sounds like school was not a positive influence on your formative years, of which I can relate. Like you I still remember the excitement I felt leading up to the night my uncle took me to see the movie. I remember the anticipation I felt and the little, innocuous things I did during the day before it was time to go to the theatre. It was a magical time.

Thanks so much for your kind words and comments. I really feel sorry for those who never had a chance to have the movie experiences that we did all those years ago. This video was meant to serve as an example that movies can have a far reaching effect and touch other areas of our lives. I don't know that I would have survived those lonely years if I hadn't had the movies to keep me excited and invigorated. Appreciate your chiming in and sharing your thoughts.

Adam, you and I would have been great mates back in 1st grade. Kong 76 still captures my imagination and I’m 54. I remember saving my money to buy a book about the movie from Scholastic company that sold kids books in school.
Another thing we have in common is we have learned from the critical errors of our fathers. I have always made it a point to respect the private property of my children. They are 17 & 14 and we have the best relationship.
Thanks for sharing your story and affection for this great movie.

I completely agree that we would have been great pals back in those days. I'm the same age as you so it was the perfect time to experience the movie when we did. I'm glad someone else understands both my love of the film and the damage a narcissistic parent can do and our willingness to not let that cycle repeat. Thanks so much for your comments and for watching the video. Nice to meet you.

Where did you get that Studio Canal version. The cover looks different from any one I can find.

I actually got it from a place called Orbit DVD located in Asheville NC. I ordered it online so I would check. They may still have some available.
      Thanks for commenting and watching.
