Advent is possibly the best thing to happen to HoloEN, at least in a long time. They brought so much needed energy to the whole branch imo

Advent reminds me of Myth in that every member seems like a hard hitter. I think often times the talents forget how much luck and circumstance can play into them being popular, and its not actually an issue with they themselves. Take Miko, who is like usually in the top 3 or so in hours watched nowadays, she struggled for years with sub 10k subs, and all it took was 1 lucky break and her usual work and she skyrocketed up.

Yeah, her first several months were definitely rough. Having several hundred thousand more subscribers and thousands of more concurrent viewers BEFORE EVEN DEBUTING than her senpais in JP who had been doing the job for years prior to her who never took to whining about their sub count on streams to try to garner sympathy just because Gura was significantly more popular than her (for good reason). Poor Kiara.

I can imagine that, for an entertainer, that respect and/or admiration from your peers is different than from your fans.
I think that's true for any job: musician, engineer, writer, cook, doctor, athlete... Your peers know what actually is difficult so when you impress them it hold more weight.
I'm so glad Nerissa joined Hololive. I keep saying, she's the perfect ambassador from KFP to Kiara.
Its always been hard watching Kiara be insecure about herself and her level of success and value, especially during the first year of EN. I'm glad Nerissa joined, too. Hopefully this is a big milestone for her, internally.
This girl is rather high maintenance but understandable, friends like Kiara you have to make sure to take good care of them so they don't feel lonely.

I can't help but relate to Kiara so much, man. She's so misunderstood, yet she's literally the most honest and open vtuber out there. It's rough man. You can have the best intentions, the most respect for yourself and your work, yet you get shut down, called annoying, and get imposter syndrome in the process. What she deserves is someone who sees her worth, a reliable source of the truth and Nerissa is just that for her. I'm happy they found each other

I've always felt bad that there is just not enough time in the day to really get into and support all of these amazing talents. At the very least because of Nerissa I have been seeing a lot more Kiara content lately
Kiara and Ollie are such important (and sadly overlooked) members who bring together so many of the branches of Hololive.
Lots of KFP employees could see Kiara was getting down on herself a lot. It was becoming obvious. And it's great to see Kiara being uplifted.
As someone who didn't follow Kiara so much in the beginning but ended up watching her the most out of Myth, I am glad she got some validation on her impact as a starting member of Hololive EN.

I am on my final year of my PhD rn, and it the beginning I felt so small. None of my peers asked me any questions or thought my input was any good. Then time passes, and you study and train to become an expert in the field. And sooner or later it happens, one of your peers needs your guidance and you can not only offer it, but teach them how to do the work. You can feel their admiration, and the pride on yourself flowing through your veins.
You are a master at this now Kiara. You are one of the top entertainers in the world! And it was about time one of your peers considered you their inspiration. Very happy for you! ❤
Ngl, when i first started watching Myth, i found Kiara to be the most annoying. Time passed and i learned about her previous life and really started to respect her.
Her style isn't one I like to watch a lot, and I hate that I only have so much time in the day, because I have to prioritize whom to give views, so she doesn't get them. But I think she might be the one I admire the most. Her openness with viewers, her support of her teammates, her perseverance, and her willingness to experiment with stream ideas are absolutely worthy.
She's changed a lot and massively improved as a streamer since day 1, it's worth checking her out again.

She does and she doesn’t at times. I think it’s hard for her to wrap her head around her impact sometimes and it’s something a lot of other creators deal with at times. It’s hard to see yourself in an objective or outside perspective sometimes

TBH, Kiara is often... a bit _much_ for my taste, and she was the last member of Myth that I really cottoned to--but all the same, she's got a certain something. She reminds me of a certain high-energy college friend whom I, a much slower-moving animal, liked a lot, but routinely found exhausting. But hey, a lot of stuff in life is like that. You have to meter your dosage. :)

Ollie loves everyone and puts them on a pedestal, which makes it harder for Kiara to take what she says as a confidence booster. And sure, I think Ollie considers Kiara her kami oshi nowadays, but she didn't join Hololive with Kiara being one of her favorites. Nerissa is a true KFP in every sense of the word and has been following her as a fan for a long time, and now stands together with her as a peer and as her equal. That's what makes all of the difference.
I don’t think that means Ollie is forgotten it just means she really appreciates Nerissa especially since Nerissa has been a long time KFP. Kiara was incredibly kind to Ollie not too long ago so it’s not like she’d forget about that, plus there’s really no need to bring up any comparisons it’s really strange to do so

ngl & tbh, whenever kiara gets a bit high maintenance about her numbers &or popularity, i always get turned off by that talk & idk if it might just be me, but i totally get where she's coming from & i don't blame her, its imposter syndrome & the numbers gives her anxiety about growth & her worth, ppl like her & calli have it ingrain in their heads, its why their workaholics & why they want to grow, more then anybody & make a name for themselves & i respect that, its just a matter of, if they can get that growth, which is very unpredictable for them, especially nowadays, it either, it will happen or it doesn't, its why everything won't be enough for them, like for kiara, even tho their are ppl who know how much she puts in to things is incredibly high, like, she is one of the most eyes on & praised members in EN, we have calli & nerissa as proof, & now ollie, & i kinda wish kiara understands that a bit, like, ya'know, just cuz ppl are aren't focus on her a lot, doesn't mean they don't care or are ignoring her, its just she's very niche & different from the rest of EN, why do you think ships & bottom left where her strongest image, & still is technically to this day on the low, its cuz over seas ppl really like that stuff, ships for example are technically NAs Idol culture, but regardless, going back, she still is respected & praised for her skills by many ppl in chat & holomems, chat & holo's will always tell her she is doing great & amazing but will always think other wise about it, which is wrong of her to think that, but i will say, i am glad she does have members like nerissa to help realized that more cuz lord have mercy this girl can't understand something that praises her lol

I get where you're coming from and I imagine she does care for her fans n all that however... The fans, and I don't say this trying to hurt anyone; are just a number essentially. I can't imagine thousands of faceless names can stand up to one who is part of the job, the industry. One who is, in a sense, on the same level as her. One who's partial reason to even join in the first place was to meet her and tell her these things y'know.

Yes and she literally says in the clip how she appreciates the kindness of her viewers too it’s just a different type of appreciation that a fellow hololive member can give her since it’s a peer giving her that validation. She obviously appreciates the fans she says it in this same video
I really don't get Kiara's psyche. To objectively be on top of the world and still feel like she's at the bottom is utterly bizarre to me and seems outright unhealthy. I worry for her because in the inevitable future when she has to leave Hololive behind (no matter how far away that is), will she spiral from not getting the absolute pinnacle of attention, affection, and adoration that's still not even enough for her now? I really, really hope she's able to conquer her demons one day and stop downing herself so she can realize what she has and how special she is before its too late.
Unfortunately, imposter syndrome is incredibly difficult, and even down right impossible to fully get rid of. This is especially prominent for people in the entertainment industry. A lot of girls in holo suffer with it to a degree, some worse than others. 3 of the Myth girls, Gura, Calli, and Kiara have it especially bad.
I imagine she's got a bit of imposter syndrome. If you're familiar at all with her irl past life, you'll understand that she's had a rocky journey to get to where she is right now.
That's the thing about low self-image, you can't rationalize it away. There's always that little voice at the back of your mind going "but you *know* you're not good enough, right? You *know* this success is undeserved."
This is one of the reasons why she talks about her numbers - it is a source of anxiety for her, no matter how respected and liked in the community she is. That niggling feeling that she's not good enough will always be there, especially after what she went through when she was younger and her rocky debut months.
Its also probably why both Calli and Kiara are workaholics and barely take breaks. Why Goomba got so burnt out, and likely why Mumei shields her talents behind the character. It is rough being a person in the public eye - even as a minor celebrity like the Holo women are.
I am glad that Kiara has a Nerissa on her side since Nerissa's love language seems to just be saying she loves her people (this is just by seeing her interact with Advent and Kiara). She repeatedly calls the twins her girls, Biboo is practically family now, Shiori gets the 'I love yous' all the time, and Kiara gets it too. And of course how she talks about her family. Kiara and most of the EN girls need that.
Imposter syndrome is incredibly common. How one copes or resolves this conflict is what could be destructive/constructive. It is also a direct result of being in a high motivation/work pace environment where comparison with one's peers eg. workaholic Cali, produces additional stress as the individual feels they are either missing out or being lazy in comparison.
Some individuals also require more personal attention eg. hugs/hands on shoulders/personal talks especially when faced in foreign/high stress environments. The most common analogy I can express is if a patient is hospitalized a family member calling vs showing up for a few hours to chat has vastly different impacts on patient morale.
All in all it is a basis of personality, mentality, situation, and background likely not a matter of narcissism as I believe you are alluding to but rather loneliness from a lack of personal affection and high stress.
