It’s unfortunate that GGG was avoided throughout his prime & was robbed of his career defining victory in the first fight against Canelo. All respect goes to GGG. In all honestly it was a wonderful business move for him. He potentially walks away with 45 million, won’t be judged on the fight as he’s 40 years old, is still the unified champion at 160 & didn’t walk away with much damage.

GGG is still a warrior even as a 40 year old. He displayed what he was able to, and still went the distance and had a few good moments in this fight, but definitely not enough tonight. Those punches that Canelo landed on him would’ve taken out anyone else, just not him. Respect.
40 years old, going 12 rounds! This itself is a win in my book. Great fight, congrats to both. Canelo was better in this one, clearly faster, took less damage as well.
GGG can't pull the trigger anymore, he needs a couple of rounds to wake up, then lets his hands go more, but can't do it consistently. It's very common for aging fighters.

Most experts assessed that GGG won the first fight. Lets say Canelo won the second ignoring the controversy. Canelo and his team didn't agree for the trilogy immediately. Called GGG a B grade fighter after the loss ducking him. Waited 4 years until he turned 40 years and used this fight as a redemption after a loss coz the world knows what the name GGG means. And that's why Canelo gets even more hate.

As a hard-core fan, I was interested in the fight, but I understood that GOLOVKIN was WAY past his prime. What pisses me off about DAZN is that having said that PPV was dead, now they are making subscribers pay additional money. The hell with them!! I'll see the highlights Sunday. What question everyone should be asking is why CANELO choose to fight GOLOVKIN 4 years after his second fight. GOLOVKIN is 40 years old. Too much wear and tear can take a toll on you!

Canelo said that he would knock out Golovkin, but this did not happen. Golovkin looked very good in his 40s. His reflexes, timing, jabs were very good. There were moments when Canelo staggered.

Since the separation of GGG from his coach Abel, everything is over, because until now the new coach who trains GGG has not given any result and I do not think that age is the reason because he still has incredible ability and stamina so far and no boxer has it and GGG remains a legend forever

Have always admired canelos skill and body of work in the ring however the trilogy with ggg will never sit right with me. Their first meeting was not scored in earnest. Which in turn leaves doubts about the second fight scores because it was so close. This third fight proved nothing.
I'm a fan of both fighters and happy that they fought eventually however I feel they could have had a more meaningful conclusion had the first fight happened even just 2 or 3 years earlier than it did.
As a ggg fan I'm disappointed that the casuals will only see the loses. As a canelo fan I'm disappointed the hardcore fans will know he took the fights too late. To me at least, I still don't know who the better fighter is

G was a killer in his prime from Rubio till Lemiuex (started slowing a bit after DJ) .. when he fought Canelo in the 1st, wasnt prime G but was still killer KO Undefeated Champ .. he was favored to win by TKO considering Canelo was moving up to 160 and Canelo just boxed and brawled G on that 1st. G won alot of mid rds by default due to Canelo gassing but G was missing alot .. alot. People just went with the forward pressure style, Lampley commentating and blind Letterman card .. Def 118 110 was ridiculous but 115 - 113 or 114 114 for eiither was fair .. 2nd fight, you crazy Canelo went straight to G Mexican style just like he ask and pounded away. G did good in the latter rds off the backfoot but Canelo def won that one on straight will. The 3rd .. both clearly showed there both pass their primes even tho Canelo is younger, dude is not the same fighter when he fought Chavez all the way to Golovkin. Canelo slower, less defense, less punch output and just relies on single shots to produce KOs ... He beat G cleanly those 8 rds but G fought back like champ, going out on his shield and make it good at the end.
Conclusion, a Prime G would hands down give any Great of 160 a run for there money .. He lost to Canelo 3 times in their trilogy. (skills, toe to toe, punch output). 👏 Both guys are Kings and Made of Steel 👊
As a Canelo fan, I couldn’t agree more. It almost feels like we were robbed in seeing who truly was better by the first fight already being a little late and then the scoring being suspicious. That ruined the whole trilogy for me. I think both fighters are truly equal and are two of the best we have ever seen in boxing. I would always lean to Canelo being slightly better but that’s just me being biased. But I tip my hats off to both they’re amazing.

Canelo is a type of fighter who fights for legacy. I hated him before because I thought he was just padding his fights and dodging Triple G. But as I thought, it was his management's decision, not him. He settled it on 3 fights, way pass Triple G's prime, but still, he fought him hard. Judge Moretti is the only good judge, he scored the 3 fights, the first one he scored it for GGG 115-113, the second a draw 114-114, the third one 116-112. by far the best scorecards were by him across the 3 fights.
I wanted GGG to win but I agree, I had it 9-3 Canelo. GGG won the first two fights though.

Let's congrats both fighters. They fought well and clean. So happy that nobody is hurt and they go home safe. GGG is the real champion for me and we all know no matter how much you believe you are young, your body shows the real truth. I would love to see GGG vs Charlotte brothers and he may call it a day.
