- 1KZ-TE Fuel pump adjustments to increase pickup and better throttle response which will increase your economy. A small 1/4 change will make your ride more smoother and better. I want to make it back to previous setting just turn the adjuster back to its old position if required.

Thats the Spill control valve.... It controls the fueling pressure and volume.. Make adjustments accordingly cuz it can cause the egt to rise and damage the engine..

I have a prado with 1kz engine. The first time diring the day it's always difficult starting. I tried to take some knowledge from youtube video's. I saw your video. Some others regarding fuel pressure regulator en some to clean up the solenoid. I am a little confused what I should do to fix the problem. For sure I know that there are fuel issues, the vehicle does not generate enough power. And it has bad start. Please advise.
sounds like injectors mate, my surf had the same issue where when coldstarting it would start very roughly, just needed new injectors.
Hi, could I ask what would cause a loud mechanical knock? Checked the crank amd rod bearings. Found nothing wrong. Noise is so loud at idle it trips the checked engine light for setting off the knock sensor. Cleaned injectors, added good fuel lubricants. Noise sounds like it's in the lower block area or in the fuel pump area.

There is a crank sensor down on 1kz just down to oil filter . From left tire you can see it. Just change that crank sensor. I also go through that noise. When you will change the sensor it becomes quit and perfect while throatling

Hi Ammar, I have recently bought a 94 model 5 door Land Cruiser with 1KZ Turbo engine. It is giving me ~6KM/Litre average. Fuel pump has been repaired, nozzles/atomisers have been checked and tappets have been adjusted but no luck. Any advice how to improve fuel economy?????

Check intake manifold and valves, what sizes of tires do you have? Check the compression and turbo pressure.

Mera geniun solenoid kisi electrician nay nikal liya tha us per hilux pickup per mane bohat bagai gari even corolla 1.8 ko muree ki taraf jaty hoye mane agy nai nikalny diya. Jab say wo solenoid lost hoa tabsay gari bath gye hai civil solenoid kisi say laker lgaya hai but apne jasy kiya us say meri 1kz ki pick wapis hojygi kiya.

Hello. I subscribed. Can you tell me please. I have same Vehicle and just had new cylinder head fitted. But now when i start up is sooty smoke (unburnt diesel) on take off motor is sluggish and smoking. On road is Ok. Can you tell me what to look for why sooty smoke and no power on take off please. Maybe mechanic made error?? somewhere.

Hi I liked your video. Do you know what Causes my 1KZ-TE not to accelerate after been sitting for some time. and I put new battery in the truck. It started and runs, but accelerator will not accelerate. Thank you.

@@kumbienyekete3567 Rat chew of the wires to throttle position sensor. I got a TPS on ebay reconnected to the wires and truck runs fine.

Hey iam Ace i've prado 3l diesel the it uses kzte motor has got starting problem when cold or hot ,injectors are new and glow plugs but if I spray quick start it kicks first time,and sometimes the engine just cuts off when u r have stopped
Check basics,
spill valve control relay.
Egr valve(looks like spaceship) sometimes its stuck.
Had Intermittent stalling before I cant start at all turns out my spill valve control relay is shut check my video on my channel cheers
Stupid question: I increased the boost. Do I need to turn the fuel up here to match the increased boost? Is that correct? 99 Prado 1KZ. Factory boost at 10psi, increased to 14psi. This is my first diesel, I have experiance with turbo petrol cars. Thanks all. Cheers from Botswana.

Any thoughts on what will cause rough idle and the engine idling at 1000rpm? When I press the idle up button it jumps up to 1500.
Possibly airleak in one of your vacuum hoses or fuel hoses?
did it realy solved you problem, dont get me wrong but the way ur engine stars it show sings that it has gone weak, i use to own a surf, do reply friend still fan of diesel moters.

I completely screwed that nut anti clockwise until it couldn't go anymore but I still have bad fuel economy when all other parts are okay. Let me know what to do.
Did this cause any problems turning the screw anti clockwise all the way?
@@shaemarsh7665 I didn't find any problems. Power is still good and the morning start is still pretty okay for a 30 year old engine.
The fuel economy around the city is still 5km per litre. Highway is 7km per litre. My radiator fan clutch is locked though.
Could buying a good aftermarket fan clutch improve fuel economy around the city by maybe 1km or 2km?
Be really careful increasing the fuel supply on a diesel. Running a diesel rich is like running a petrol motor lean. Big bada boom.
This is spill control valve.. it will increase EGT which not good... Its better to sort out other things before fiddling with SPV not advisable at all.

hi, i have same engine, It smokes white or grey when cold start, or after few hours engine been off, I checked glow plugs, glow plug relay, water temperature gauge, changed fuel filter, before I pull the injectors out do have any Idea what cause that smoke, its only smokes for five minutes.
Sounds like un burnt fuel.
when you say you have checked your glow plug relay, did you check what voltage you have coming out when the glow plugs are on?

What cause a lazy take off for my 1kz te surf
I need your help I cleaned the solenoid for 1kz and the vehicle could start . It cracking but cant start . No diesel comes to injector nozzle. Need your help
Double check all plug on the injection pump. Same thing happened to my 1kz
You have damaged your sp valve. It is solenoid, so it is usual coil with wire, something happend with it. You cam take multimeter and ring it to the body,. If it has ring that indicates that you damaged the coil, if no ring you should check viltage that come to connector from ecu.
Same with my 1kz , the car was running ok , only the turbo was oiling. the cars has been parked for years. I bought new turbo , serviced the car , changed all the filters but no diesel to the injectors. What can be the problem

shifter cable ka problem ho skta hai ya phr check kro sensor waghra ka issue na ho
Will this make black smoke come out of the exhaust?
If you turn on more diesel then it will give you black smoke. If you gradually turn it 1/4 of clockwise and check by driving it for 3 to 4km and notice. If your rig is fine then keep it there or reduce the diesel spill value anti clockwise 1/4 and again drive for 3-4 km. You will in the end find the good optimum position to where to set it. One thing make sure you air filter, fuel is clean. If any other question feel fee to ask.

how was it before doing this adjustment?
Pickup was very laggy and burning more fuel because i had to push more throttle.

Its because you have moved it more anti clockwise, Move it back clockwise only 1/4th and then try again. If it starts ok if not turn 1/4 more clockwise and try.
