I want to remove the power supply for audiophile purposes. I want to use a clean iFi iPower adapter, would this be less noisy ?

Do you still have the Cisco switch? I just got one for Hifi use.

@@matthoyle2344yes I even added two other switches. Strangely enough network switches have sound characteristic, possible becauses differences in PSU’s are noticeable. I have the Meraki ms220-8p and Netgear gs108, all characteristics work cumulative like powercord combinations..
If a streamer loads the whole track or even album in memory doesn’t matter in precieved sound quality. Meaning this whole trick is still noticeable even with a pc with Ramm and SSD memory etc..

@@cagmito76Yep, that is the name of the device. You will find it in my Switch Mode Power Supply Repair series as well, where I explain what the functionality of a MOV is.

@@cagmito76You will see how fast you can learn this stuff. Luckily SMPS are not so complicated when you get familiar a bit with the way how they work.

The 8-port version from the 2960G series is my personal favorite exactly for the very reason that they are completely passively cooled, and make no noise whatsoever.
The issue of trying to mod the fans on a switch from any manufacturer is, that the ASICS produce lots of heat, and the switch will not be running stable. Since the 1U form factor allows only for tiny fans, those tiny fans need to spin at thousands of RPM to push some air.

Excellent. I think you said watts and wattage instead of volts and voltage?
(You do know the electronics so maybe is just your pronunciation).

If you point out at which minute, I can go and check whether I was just saying the wrong thing. It happens to all of us.
