    Corporal, I'm a 67 yr old (VN ERA vet, never in country, European duty due to MOS, i.e Pershing Missile related). Of all your vids I've watched, this one has got to be listed as my #1 favorite. Teaching a youth, assuming your son, is one of the greatest things I have seen you do. Trust me, at my age I know what I'm talking about, the memory you and your son will have of days like the one creating this vid will bring a smile on your faces in the years to come. Cherish them. One other thing, maybe you could let the young man join you in more of your teaching vids. Would be great for all of us to watch and learn from you as you pass down your knowledge not only to RUclipsrs but your off spring as well. I say it that way because you may have a girl as well. Keep up the outstanding work your doing.

    Good show Dad. The only thing I would add to both rope bridge and knot videos is the fact that the butterfly knot puts far less stress on the rope than other knots, making it the best knot for mid-line connections.

    Thank you--great tutorial. Would this work long term or would it kill the tree over time?

    • @FallLineJP
      @FallLineJP 3 года назад

      You wouldn't want to leave ropes exposed like this for a long period of time, the UV light damage will eventually break them down.
      For a more permanent solution, I'd go with steel cable. You'd want to be careful not to damage the bark and would probably need to redo the anchors occasionally to avoid damaging the tree long term.

    that is very easy to say!! Say to one person that he/she must cross a very wild river or when that water is freezing cold!! Have you thought about that? Even when it is not possible to cross it whit a boat. What if the distance is more than 50yards or when you are alone? What to do when there is no anchor point at the other site? No trees only rocks or open field? Suppose you are whit 10person, the first must swim, 8 people can across whit that bridge but the last person not because he must stay for loosen everything and then? Also, swimming? I also see that you are pulling at that rope, I suppose that you never can have it stretched strong enough, so why don't you use a snatch block?

      Mike Moore
      I tried learning it that way frm another YT channel and I had to do it multiple times to get it right and remember it, but then forgot after a couple of weeks.
      Seriously, I watched this video once, sat on a couch with a meter of paracord and got it right the first time and every time since then.
      This channel is weird, like it makes you remember stuff. I think that's because it goes right into application and then reinforced with repetition on every other video.
