    So you can you HSK holders in a normal cat 40 spindles? You can you them both in the same spindles? Or do you need a specific type of spindles?

      Never mind lol. I see now you need to have a hsk spindle . To use those holders

      @@drogers0033 Differences are in the spindle taper, ATC arm and ATC pots.

      While these are slightly older studies, the two links below both have great write-ups on why and how HSK has greater rigidity. It's also important to note that, in most cases, we are looking at the much more common standard style of CAT holders, versus BIG-PLUS style holders. BIG+ has the benefit of acting like an HSK holder in that there is dual contact between the taper and the flange, which is the chief cause of the additional rigidity.
