I'm with your mind, that they should build some with 700+ ps. But don't know how many they will sell to make it rentable. All big companies think like that.
This is is the first tractor over 550 hp with a CVT transmission The TMS made your test a lot simpler during testing. I have seen photos of a Fendt 1200 articulate. I loved your video series
What i would really like to see, was Fendt to revive the Fendt Trisix, put in the Fendt One Cab, give it a 5-700 gallon steel fuel tank, and put that 790 horse engine in it. On either 800 duals or maybe LSW 1400's. I think that would outpull anything!
10:25 I think the reason in this case is the Vario transmission. It currently is rated for the power of the 1167. They might have to make the transmission beefier for more power. I hope they will do, otherwise this would be wasted potential.
Cooling is the biggest problem Cooling is the limiting factor in almost app big tractors. Your average big tractors will use 20% of its fuel just for the fan at the front. Increase power and you'll increase heat generation; not linear, but exponentially. They'd need a different, more efficient way of cooling the engines. Just increasing power would mean (if we assume they somehow find the room to fit bigger fans/higher rpm fans) overheating, exponentially more fuel consumption, more wear and tear on components, like the transmission you mentioned, and less efficient power usage. The Fendt 1050 for example is the most efficient big tractor on the market at the moment in terms of how much of its power he brings to the ground. Increasing power, while staying the same weight would also drop that efficiency down. So more power is just ... Super inefficient in every possible way
AGCO makes a wheeled 4wd , it’s not painted like a Fendt , but could be and I’m sure it wouldn’t be hard to make a quad track. Had a friend that had one on dirt pans , it would outpull the Deere’s. This was a few years ago it had a Cat 18 liter . He got rid of it because service was to far away, but they liked it.
I wonder if the 700hp+ horsepower barrier hasn’t been crossed because of drivetrain durability concerns/issues. That’s a lot of power in a power shift or Cvt transmission. Although the mining industry has much higher horsepower and payload equipment…. Be interesting to hear an ag equipment engineers take.
@Wayne Creek Land and Cattle Co. So what weight will stick over 800/900 hp to the ground, and he isnt going to drive it 8 hrs down the highway,,, theres a limit here for sure, and I think they're at it if you're not transporting it on a truck/trailor with ridiculous permits, US or CA... There's a California channel they just use an D11 to RIP old orchard groves,,, insane the permits to move the tractor, blade is off they just RIP like 3-4M deep in old Orchards... Cali is odd too, just gona say that... Oh and a D11 is a 35L, not a 15L LOL, think the 3508 weighs 17k alone... different class of power for sure...
Hey Mike thanks for this series of videos it was awesome to watch and your options I'm still old school I know if it doesn't have tires it's a bulldozer on tracks LOL.
The reason for the hp cap is after treatment. I had a conversation with a paccar engineer from the tech center and he said the higher the horsepower, the harder it is to keep the after treatment from face plugging and over loading it. I asked him if they were going to increase the MX13 to a 15 liter to compete with the cummins ISX15 and his response was “HELL NO”! And then he explained. I’d bet Fendt and the other manufacturers are in the same rationale.
It no problem, Fendt uses the same 16,2 L MAN engine in their combine harvester, it puts out 790 hp there compared to the 670 hp the same engine produce in the MT 1167. Both MAN and Liebherr makes even larger Diesel engines that nearly produce 1000 hp and are used in the large combine’s and forage harvesters from Deere, Fendt, Claas, Krone.
@@12345anton6789 combines and tractors have different demands. Combine demand hp; and are easier on transmissions. Tractors need to hold together from more wear and tear

I don't know why Agco discontinued the 900 series 4wd tractor, that thing with the way it was built and how heavy it was they were finally getting into the Big Bud territory. You put tracks on and nobody would be able to keep up with it. You forgot there is a site glass on the oil reservoir for the cooling fan for the engine. The fan is hydraulic driven and has its own reservoir and pump....
Agco never had any luck in the 4wd articulated tractor market, just look at the Agcostar. Take the iconic Massey Ferguson 4wd, don't give it to Massey dealers, don't paint it red and call it a Massey, paint it silver, offer no 3 point hitch or even a pto option, didn't even have the strong Massey axles, I could go on but it's depressing
@@Zero01k I would love to see the challenger tractors painted Massey red. Let the Massey dealers sell those large tractors. I'm with you 100 percent. Massey is one of the largest tractor markets globally, it would make sense...
@Wayne Creek Land and Cattle Co. Absolutely not! The 1050's engine/cvt match is a greater disapointment. I have seen it decreasing speed and almost stall ... Let's wait to judge better the 1167 , when pulling heavy draft loads.
Not only friction would damage the track and all its components, one of the "bad" things about tracks are all its small and moving components that need to be re-design if we increase engine power (power transmission, weight distribution, more robust and efficient components).

@Wayne Creek Land and Cattle Co. Absolutely not! The 1050's engine/cvt match is a greater disapointment. I have seen it decreasing speed and almost stall ...
Let's wait to judge better the 1167 , when pulling heavy draft loads.
@Wayne Creek Land and Cattle Co. Let`s wait till the real hard work results...
Can enough friction be created between the drive wheels and the tracks to hold with a 700 hp engine?
They all drive off rubber lugs on the inside think they are worried they would rip them off if they make too big of a jump
Not only friction would damage the track and all its components, one of the "bad" things about tracks are all its small and moving components that need to be re-design if we increase engine power (power transmission, weight distribution, more robust and efficient components).
Didn't Agco made you a sweat deal to keep it 😉
I wouldn't want a "sweat" deal.
The Fendt shows 663 HP with power curve of 670
Its advertised at 673 constant HP on the configuration site - agco.bigmachines.com/config/tractors/track/fT1100VarioMTSeries?persist=true
Did Brian get a new semi to pull his toy hauler?
I don't think so he had it a a hopper last winter.
🔝🔝💪👍 Fendt 😍
How about big Bud tractor
They haven't built a new one in 30 years.

Yes, there's a brand new one, a 525/50 and it showed up at the Welkers farm, check their latest video [ Our Crops Are Destroyed...], scroll to 18:45 ......... 😂😉
@@ytfan3815 Yeah, that'll pull an 84 ft drill. Maybe 8.4 ft
@@lynwessel2471
Agree or not, it's awesome, he made a beautiful Baby Bud, ... just like Don Campbell's John Deere 9630 - 1/2 scale. 😃 👍
Hi Mike! I know we're a month plus behind, but how are your crops doing currently? Just watched Welker and sounds like they got moisture, but also hail.
It’s absolutely junk in Saskatchewan. I’m central and more west they already disc stuff in cause it wasn’t gonna make it. Central east is ok but won’t be the best crops.
Agco got a Challenger mt700
You sound like Lance Stroll. I know - Canadians. But still.
Really should have taken 4640 or 4650 out. Woulda put them all to shame.... lol
Fend 1167 adios😭😭😘🇮🇹
Where is the Quadtrac?
they don't have a quad track.
I would be willing to bet Mike Mitchell’s farm. Most of the higher horsepower Case IH Quadtrac’s could out pull any other brand name. It’s the claim to fame from Steiger years to current…
They obviously can’t or he wouldn’t have got rid of them
@@realredditstories420 Mike compared the Quadtrac with the 9RX. Both have their own (dis)advantages and one advantage of the Case IH was pulling the Bourgault better than the Deere did.
*sad fendt noises*
