- Is the LEGACY TARDIS addon still good in 2024 when compared to the newer Rewrite TARDIS addon in Garry’s Mod. I reviewed the old Legacy TARDIS mod in Gmod with a fresh mind to see if it is as good as everyone seems to remember. I went over its groundbreaking features and design, its control system, how old it is - Its 10 year anniversary was very recently - and more. I then compared it to the TARDIS rewrite addon which has its 9th anniversary on August 29th 2023. The TARDIS rewrite is the addon used for all of today's TARDIS mods in gmod that you see, like the: Toyota TARDIS (11th & 12th Doctor's), The Warrior's TARDIS, The Ruth Doctor's and TUAT TARDISes and others.

Doctor Who is a British science fiction television programme produced by the BBC since November 23rd, 1963. The programme depicts the adventures of a Time Lord called "The Doctor", an extraterrestrial being, appearing to be human. The Doctor explores the universe in a time-travelling space ship called the TARDIS. Its exterior appears as a blue British metropolitan police box, which was a common sight in Britain in the 1960’s when the series first aired. Accompanied by a number of companions, the Doctor combats a variety of foes like the Daleks and Cybermen while working to save civilisations and save people in need.
A series of special episodes of the British science fiction television programme Doctor Who will air to celebrate the programme's 60th anniversary. The episodes are written by Russell T Davies, and will be broadcast on BBC One in November 2023, preceding the following fourteenth series. David Tennant will appear as the Fourteenth Doctor before Ncuti Gatwa takes over as the Fifteenth Doctor. Catherine Tate and Bernard Cribbins will be returning to the show in the 2023 specials. The three specials are directed by Rachel Talalay, Tom Kingsley and Chanya Button respectively. Filming moved from Roath Lock Studios to Bad Wolf Studios once Bad Wolf became a co-producer of the series; filming commenced in May 2022, and was completed. Disney has partnered with the BBC and Doctor Who to have Dr Who stream on Disney’s platform, Disney Plus. Disney+ will allow people from many different countries to watch Doctor Who at the same time as the UK. Disney have also given Doctor Who a larger budget meaning the episodes will have better quality and Doctor Who’s CGI will have the same effects as a movie.
Yasmin Finney joined the cast for the anniversary, to portray a character named Rose. Bernard Cribbins, Jacqueline King and Karl Collins are also set to return as Wilfred Mott, Sylvia Noble and Shaun Temple, respectively. Jemma Redgrave is also returning to her role as Kate Lethbridge-Stewart in Series 14, after her appearance in The Power Of The Doctor as the head of UNIT. On 13 June 2022, Davies announced that Neil Patrick Harris would be joining the cast, playing an undisclosed role that is rumoured to be the return of The Celestial Toymaker.
Ncuti Gatwa had previously been announced as Jodie Whittaker's successor after David Tennant reprises his role as the doctor in the 60th anniversary specials as the programme's lead, and many reports stated he would play the Fourteenth Doctor and that Whittaker's Thirteenth Doctor would regenerate into an incarnation portrayed by Gatwa. Upon Jodie Whittaker's final appearance as the character in The Power Of The Doctor, she instead regenerated into a form similar to the Tenth Doctor. This character, portrayed by Tennant, was confirmed to be the Fourteenth Doctor, with later clarification that Ncuti Gatwa would actually portray the Fifteenth Doctor. Ncuti Gatwa’s 15th doctor has also had his companion announced as Millie Gibson playing Ruby Sunday live on Children In Need.
On 24 September 2021, the BBC announced Russell T Davies would return to Doctor Who as showrunner, after having previously acted as showrunner from 2005-2010 for the Ninth and Tenth Doctors. He will succeed Chibnall for the show's 60th anniversary in 2023 and beyond. Davies will be joined by the Bad Wolf production company, which was founded by former Doctor Who executive producer Julie Gardner and former BBC head of drama Jane Tranter. In October 2021, it was announced that Sony would acquire a majority of Bad Wolf. Bad Wolf also took over creative control of Doctor Who beginning with the specials, allowing the BBC to focus on establishing Doctor Who as a global brand. The new era of Doctor Who is being labelled as RTD2 as it is Russel’s second era of Doctor Who.

Gosh these were the days. I used to run a gmod server called Doctor Who Online which had loads of fun addons! Ran it for along time and had a large steam group dedicated to it.
Back then we didn't even have discord or anything yet my server was consistently popular! Good times for sure.
Actually, in the beginning there was only one legacy TARDIS, and the other legacies were copies of it with changed models. The rewrite addon was started for many reasons, and one of important ones was the support of extensions :)

I remember when the legacy tardis came out back in the day when I was obsessed with gmod as a fan of Doctor Who it was amazing I watched venturiantale’s tardis gmod videos over and over when I was a kid good times
I love the legacy TARDISes. Not only because im a man that adores the old feeling to everything but also because the legacy has some special feel to it. The way they designed makes them look more safe and atmospheric to me than the rewrite ones.
They do have unique atmospheres that you don't really get these days as most TARDISes focus on realism which I do miss a bit tbh.
Fun fact there is a sonic screwdriver mod that one of the features is to call in the legacy tardis.

So actually, the legacy versions of the 1963, 2005, 2010 etc all weren't made with the legacy tardis at the time. They were actually the original versions rewrite extensions which were turned into legacies for 'The Doctors Server' in May of 2016, they were exclusive to the server until a community member ripped the assets of the server which was a cause for it to be shut down in July 2016, eventually they were reuploaded by Para (with permission) which is how we have them today. So really, anything you compliment or admire about the 2005 - 2015 tardises are just admiriations of the original versions of the various rewrite extensions.
The only genuine legacy tardis is the one called TARDIS (legacy) in the entities list.
P.S That legacy isn't even the original either, the very first TARDIS addon was made by a guy called cookiemorph, it was a crap addon tbf and Dr Matts soon took over, but it had a lot of influences over the features that would be included with the early legacy (such as the sonic being able to summon it). Thanks for letting me know about all of this, it's very cool to know the history of it all! also I was aware of Cookie's version but had never used it or ever really seen it outside of Venturian so didn't really bother going over it but I plan to do a proper in-depth history of Gmod Doctor Who Addons video at some point so I will definitely talk about it there so thank you again

If you are talking about the exterior I used then I'm pretty sure it's the Edwardian exterior, I will update the google doc when I get a chance
How did you get the Clara memorial exterior?
You should just be able to hold c or whatever your key is to change skins and select the body groups and find it in there
