Without farmers what would we do? You guys are amazing. Up until I retired a few weeks ago I worked in retail. Why? because I love people. I got to meet so many people that came back time after time to see me to buy what they needed. They told me I knew my stock and would never try to sell them something they didn't need or wouldn't suit them. Many became friends over the years. Trust is a big thing. If my back hadn't become so bad with all the standing then I would still be there. I miss the people.

You’re right. The people we’ve become friends with are really special to us. It’s a great lifestyle. Thanks for watching.

Chuck I’m new to you channel but I love what you do. I’m a first responder in Greensboro, N.C. and my retirement plan is to do what you do. I’ve started my own channel so I can document our growth. Keep up the good work.

Love your videos Chuck! Community is an overused word and though I am not terribly religious, to me this is more of a fellowship. Whatever word is used to describe the group of people who enjoy your videos and regenerative farming in general, I am happy to be a part of it!

Why i worked where i did ? Because i was screwed by the united states education programs.
Being Dyslexic and not one of them had a clue on how to help me learn. They blamed me a child who was clueless to what was wrong. Told i was stupid and lazy, ended up pregnant at 16. Fortunately i was able to survive despite the education system. Fought for my Dyslexic son who now works for the Mayo health Systems. And i retired at age 60, only issue was medical coverage Obama care sucks for 4 more months.

You and Sandra are great at what you do. Education, commentary and provide a glimpse into a world (small farming) that the majority of Americans will never see, understand, or appreciate. That is how our food actually comes to the table and the challenges, hard work, and commitment--necessary for that to occur. You also provide inspiration to those who are motivated to start our own small scale farming operation. Someday the primary work "job" will become monotonous and will come a time to move on to greener pastures. However, the farm will always be there--providing family, freedom, food, and fulfillment. Thank you both for what you do.

I’ve actually been asking myself why about a lot of things this year. It’s sorta strange you put this out. I used to say the reason why I done something was for money but the older I get the more clear it is that money isn’t everything. And nowadays my why is something deeper and more important which has led me to a point that I’m completely changing career paths. The business I’ve successfully been running since 2008 I’m walking away from into something more rewarding in the end. We’ve been farming and building a customer base for the last few years but in 2024 we plan to hit it full steam ahead and hopefully I can be here full time.

Keeping the freezer full. We have enjoyed learning from your videos and many others. We have stopped buying meat (with exception to a steak here and there) over the last whole year. Pork, rabbit, , lamb, chicken, goat and duck for days. 6 pigs on the hoof for when we get low. Thankful for the ability and blessing to be able to do it. It is very hard work but very worth it!

I've been looking at this and other channels for guidance. Just about to have my first batch of piglets born in an environment which my animals love. I move them through the bush, they are amazing animals and they are clearing my place as they go. Whilst this batch will be sold off as feeders, I am working towards supply via abattoir and direct selling in future. The sense of purpose I get from this and not my day job is my WHY.

I noticed the hens bunching at the back of the chicken tractor and was reminded of an innovation I saw that I thought looked good, but have never done. They mounted a piece of bailing wire spanning the shaw on top of the bottom side support about 6 inches from the back of the shaw. This way the wire gives the chicks a nudge before they get the back brace.

Chuck, I have been a professional paper money dealer for almost 30 years. We live on 150 acres and raise chickens, manage about 80 beehives, and raise Nigerian Dwarf goats. We home school our three youngest children and I often lose money being out on the farm vs my office. We farm and do what we do to show our kids how to work, how to provide for a family, where our food comes from, as well as the blessings The Lord gives us all. We are in Camden, where Katy lived. I enjoy you and the Boss Lady! God bless you both. Amanda

I do what I do for satisfaction and challenge! I have learned much from you and the biggest thing is I will never get meat in a store again. We have just gotten the ability to buy off a truck from a local farm and they will also come and deliver our order. There just is no comparison .
