    Adam Mackey Smith you are correct about sheeting and halyard lines over the solar panels. any individual panel lacking output affects the total panel plan unless you go to the expense of separating the charging on each individual panel. 1 line accross the series of a few cells reduces the solar panel by an incredible amount.

      Dear Wiley!
      Nobody talks about size of the beds!
      I think the beds are too small on this boat!
      The normal bed sizing for me 160-180 x 210-220 cm!
      Ok, i am 193 cm. :-D
      But so strange nobody and never talk about the size of beds! :/
      Maybe you can do this in the next videos! :)
      Best Regards!
      James!

    I would like to see more shared shower stalls in 4 cabin boats. It's something I've often wondered about converting to in an older boat.

      I've rolled back n forth on those shared showers, but ultimately I like the idea. So much real estate invested in bathrooms on modern boats.

    love the no-nonsense layout of things on this boat. seen how space is at a premium on a boat that's on the 'small' side, rather than having a grill and sink on the aft deck I'd much rather see the volume made into one large trunk, to store such things as scuba tanks and a compressor - already have a sink and cooker in the saloon, feet away! HH are smart enough not to duplicate showers - they might consider doing something similar here!

    Nice but the hulls look pretty narrow, none of the beds are walk around so you are sliding to/from the front of the bed to get in/out. Didn't look like there was much closet space either. I like the large windows in aft berths but imagine in the tropics they will get really hot..

    • @kpertsev

    I know I said that I thought I liked the HH, but as stated in another post it seems narrow. Does the 66/77 have the more narrow hulls as well? Or will you comprise speed for luxury on the larger ones?
    One question I have that was asked here is, is there an owners version for the 55+ I agree that I, as an owner, would not like to share my head (get your mind out of the gutter) and have them have their own space away from me.

    Amazes me that most cats have independent heads and showers for each "room". Do builders anticipate that passengers will spend most of their time taking showers and crapping? There's gotta be better design ideas for more efficient use of the space.

    • @megamilyon6111

Some of the best boat designs in the world were spawned here in the U.S.A.

    • @youngwillstopher4113
      @youngwillstopher4113 7 лет назад

      A popular myth perpetuated by Gunboat fanboys, but not true. Nothing was stolen. The company is Taiwanese. The designers are Californian (MM also designed the HH Catamarans.) Take a look through the SA chat forums to really see what Peter Johnstone did to those who trusted him with their cash.

    • @ZoneTelevision
      @ZoneTelevision 7 лет назад +2

      To be fair, the term "stolen" is sometimes mis-appropriated. However, it is true that many (Asian) based companies have seldom come up with their own (original) designs. They often make "knock offs" or copies of just about everything and then undercut the competition. Suffice to say the HH designs look too much the M&M Peter Johnstone's designs which were unique to him and his company. As for being a "Fanboy" there isn't anything wrong with being a fanboy .. you love what you love... But The HH 66 looks very much like a GB 66 knock off. Re using a design then slapping another label on it can calling it "original" is not disingenuous, its a shoddy and immoral business practice IMO.
      Personally I prefer the TAG-60 and Chris White designs myself. . The HH66 looks like a variation of the GB Morrelli&Melvin design is too much of a similarity to be a coincidence.

    there is a reason why the designers left the company - its produced in xiamen - not reliable factory - carbon needs a very special work ethics and professional knowledge ! its not given in that factory - so they moved away - and the entire company was bought by the french - now produced in france the rest of the kind of fake proud crew - including the taiwanese owner - who became simply rich by producing cheap fake leather baseball bags - stayed in xiamen - altogether they produced may be 10 boats - if you look at the boats after 6-12 month the entire gel coating is already broken - details are terrible - and i doubt that its fun for the western people to work in such a slave driven company - simply fake -

      Solar is designed to have the sun shine on them. Even partial shadowing of a single cell reduces the power delivered off the whole row that cell is on.

    • @echtogammut
      @echtogammut 7 лет назад +19

      Those are Solbian SP panels. They have integrated active bipass diodes that minimize the effects of partial shading. You pay a lot more for those panels, but I've seen tests performed on them and lines running across the panel will have little effect on their output.

    • @sergey_sovetsky
      @sergey_sovetsky 7 лет назад +5

      Yeah, definitely stupid design, especially for boat from this price range. These lines must be recessed UNDER the panels, and panels should have hinges - to pick them up if line inspection or replacement is needed.

    • @ricbrook7059
      @ricbrook7059 6 лет назад

      Noticed this myself, cover any cells and the panels performance drops dramatically. Tbf tho that attention to detail or rather the total lack of it shows throughout the boat.

    • @tonynotstated695
      @tonynotstated695 6 лет назад +7

      Seriously?!?! That's your response to Andrew's legitimate observation regarding most every solar panel known to man? And you're in Yacht sales? You do realize that most people who are going to purchase a boat like this will make this and many other observations. You should probably come up with a more informed response meant to address the statement and explain it intelligently without a hint of sarcasm.
      Incidentally, as an electrical engineer dealing with solar electrical designs frequently, I can also add that I would have designed in an air gap between the solar panel and the hull that it's adhered to. Solar panels need to dissipate heat for continued stated efficiency. So, as far as the design and installation of this solar system, I would not pay a penny for it because somewhere down the road, the new owner will have to pay a small fortune to someone to retrofit in a system that actually functions as it should.
      "Scuttle the whole boat" you said in jest. But this one serious flaw makes me wonder what other flaws are embedded within this design and build. I say this with certain authority since I have the means and am in the market for boat like this but not This one.

    Very nice, and only one "Pano" call out, Which by the way what you are calling out as a "Pano", (panoramic) shot is in all actuality just a "sweeping" shot since the lens on the DSLR camera you're using is merely a 4:3 aspect ratio and not 4:1 Panoramic lens aspect ratio not to mention a single frame of panoramic lens has a 160 degree field of view. Meaning one frame of a "Pano" shot would encompass everything visible from the begging of your sweeping shot to the end of it, like the peephole in your front door except with a thinner upper and lower viewing limit.
    You could call it a "Sweepo" shot. That would definitively justify the super coolness of your edgy persona... along with not having to button up your shirt.

    to add this is former gunboat - the company basically was bankrupt in a sense of all people left - unbearable management - aggressive unprofessional - so basically the right for the hull shape stayed - and a little e australian crew tries to carry on simply because the taiwanese owner is paying a nice salary - if you hear them talking or see them at the boatshows you simply realize they have nothing to do with sailing - hard try - yacht production is a dedication a culture - and hard core engineering ! i would never !rent such a boat - uncertified - besides that the design is totally outdated - and very bad in detail - and quality -
    lets see what the french can do with the core idea - not sure if it will be much better -

    Nice boat with great attention to detail. But they lack forward facing seating in the saloon, andl the sheets running through jammers is dangerous in a boat designed to do 20+ knots ( an unfortunate trait of production boats ). So if you want a real blue water cruising cat go custom made...

    For 55' it's cramped, especially in the hulls. So much wasted space in the salon. Too expensive for what it offers.

      美国设计,daggerboard catamarans 都是高速船,船体狭窄,daggerboard占空间,给设计师发挥的余地有限
