Thank you so much. Without your amazing work, I, and millions of others, would know nothing about this wondrous river! Not even that it exists. I’ve never heard of this river before in my life, and I’m 66 years old! I know it’s incredibly hard work, photographing and sharing the unbelievable beauty with the rest of the world, but from my point of view, it’s worth every second. What a truly amazing world we live in!
The Dusun people are not headhunters. They were and are farmers and rice planters. The Dusuns, also known as Kadazans in some areas, are the natives of Sabah. The name Dusun is still used by the natives in a few small areas, like Tambunan, but those natives living in such places as Penampang, Papar and Inanam are now called Kadazans. The change of name was done during the time of Donald Stephens, before North Borneo was renamed Sabah. There are other natives in Sabah. They include the Muruts and Bajaus. The Dyaks of Sarawak and Kalimantan were headhunters and they did help to fight the Japanese during WWII.
Thanks for the video and information on an effort to save the Pygmy elephant,s (My favorite) and the Clouded Leopard ( which I thought was already extinct).
I loved what she said, that who else is to take care of the animals besides us, great to be a Vet, such an honor to be able to do it in the wild. My hats off for these brave men and women. ❤️❤️❤️❤️💯💯💯💯🙏🙏🙏🙏
@@kimberlyharper6182 indeed. Wonder if since they take care if such large crops why they couldn't maintain a coridor somehow for the elephants to travel thorough. Maintain some food for them while trying to essentially guide their migration.. maybe its a dumb idea I dont know anything about it but seems possible.
I love the video, like I love all nature documentaries, but please in a next video either make the sound of the voices louder or kill the music completely. Now the voice is hard to understand. Thank you.

@@dongnavarz4608 , let's see who will be having a nightmare. Latest as in June 2023:- 1. June 6th - Paris Court of Appeal had set aside and annulled the previous Paris Court (lower court) ruling awarding the heirs of the defunct Sulu Sultanate. 2. June 27th - Dutch Court of Appeal in The Haque had dismissed a bid by eight descendants of former Sultan of Sulu to enforce the arbitration award by Paris Court (lower court) ruling, and dismissed an attempt to seize Malaysian Petronas assets following the Paris Court of Appeal decision. 3. Paris Court of Appeal also imposed on Sulu €100,000.00 (Euro currency) to be paid to Malaysia as legal cost. 4. Mean while in Luxembourg, a second attempt to seize Malaysian Petronas assets had been filed in Luxembourg Court due for hearing in September 2023 after the first attempt was dismissed. This will likely be dismissed too following the Paris Court of Appeal decision. Malaysia had spent around RM32m, equivalent to about USD6.6m to deal with this Sulu claim cases in various European courts in Madrid, Paris, Luxembourg and Netherlands. Apart from the €100,000.00 Sulu has to pay to Malaysia as legal cost, Malaysia is planning to sue Sulu for compensation for the loss of RM32m spent. As for now, Sulu has to pay €100,000.00 to Malaysia as legal cost. The amount is considered big since one claimant of Sulu Sultan had once said in a video that Sultan of Sulu (defunct) was the poorest sultan in the world. Definitely Philippines will still be dreaming and will not worsen to be a nightmare. But the eight individuals who claimed to be heirs of the former Sultan of Sulu who brought their claim in various European courts, will surely be having a nightmare, having to pay all the legal costs. And further more they will be having a nightmare to pay compensation to Malaysia when Malaysia sue them.
That was a sad sad look on that elephant’s face as he closed its eyes. What is wrong with humans? We can’t even live in peace within our human race. These animals are the ones that are suffering and it is getting worse. Humans see this being done worse and worse every time we watch shows like this one. The shows that are getting made are frequent and the land that is being used up are more acreage than what was shown ten years ago.
And often some try to act like some tribes are pure and innocent like the indians who would behead shrink heads scalp and some were cannibals. And had cruel forms of torture and other punishments.
All nations/ cultures/ ethnicities have both abhorrent and stellar aspects in their history... Europeans, ( the Inquisition, Crusades, 3rd Reich) Japanese and Vietnamese who also used cruel tortures, the United States with their history of medical experimentation and abuses of various minorities, ( these systematic "programs" actually inspired Nazi Germany's T-4 and mass sterilization programs.) Incidentally, Native Americans did not scalp during pre- Colombian times - they learn this from the French! Also, in the U.S. Islamophobia spurred an outrage against polygamy - but the #1 practicioners of this is a branch of the Mormon Church - where 12 year olds are forcibly married to 50+ year old pedophiles! I totally agree with trying to stop the deforestation, actually desperately, but then I can feed my children. It’s such a balancing act!

I got to do a 3 day stay on the Kinabatangan in late 2013, it was truly magical. We finally spotted 2 orangutans on the last day.
