Space Quest was my favourtie out of the Sierra adventure games I still have the CD's of the remastered versions. I use to love police quest and Kings Quest and Quest for Glory as well they were all great
Cool memories. I was just 6 when they released it. My dad bought it and he helped us playing it. We played a few games of Space Quest and Police Quest. Wow. That's long ago.
fun fact. you must both pick up the unstable ordnance AND put it back before going to the sewer. if you pick it up after going to the sewer, the game is unwinnable, even if you put it back, because a sequel police shows up to laser you unavoidably. On some versions of the game, this second check is missing, and you can get it and keep it then, but on the version i played, putting it back after the sewer wouldn't save you, and you'd still die.
1:04:06 - "Over 12 Gigabytes in length". We all had a good laugh at that in the early 90's... and now that's smaller than most modern games. I can't even imagine what 12 gigs worth of 3 1/2 floppies would look like.
The powerful Quad-Quark's lights come to life Time and space bend under the fibrillations of the time Riptransfluxer Your adrenaline and stomach reel when the hyperbolics hyperbolate And finally...finally... ...nothing much happens.
One of my favourite details was always the computer game discount bin. Those parodies were excellent, and I loved that they took a poke at LucasArts with it. Kind of funny, though, that 12gb was seen as a science fiction-like amount of diskspace for a piece of software... most games I play today are larger. :)
I always believed that the manager of Monolith Burger so insisted that the burgers be made his way because he ate every single one that comes off the line as soon as he received it.
😂 so glad I found this. This was one of my favorite games growing up. All I could remember of it was trapping the energizer bunny to get the battery 😂😂😂
i tried for months with my brother to get past the darn hamburger making stage. never made it. how does it end. i loved this game then hated it. so much fun. so creative.
I had this game on Amiga 500. Way back then, this game could use VGA color palette with 256 colors. Amiga could only use 36 colors so this was the turning point that Commodore was no more superior in graphics and sound. Amount of disks were huge on both systems. Multimedia CD´s became little later.
@thunder636 That's simply Roger Wilco from Space Quest IV arriving in the Time Ripper. As seen in this very same video, he has to travel back to Ulence Flats in Space Quest I, so that cameo from the Space Quest I VGA remake (which was developed after Space Quest IV) is supposed to be him arriving at that instance of time. It doesn't match pretty accurately with the Space Quest IV events since in these you travel back to the Space Quest I AGI original version, but still it's intended to be that.
callmechia The voice over artist, Gary Owens, who did practically every baritone TV voice over you ever heard in the 80's and 90's. He also was the voice of numerous cartoon characters over the years. He was the most prolific voice over actor in history. And he just died this year.
The powerful quad-quark drives rev to life. Time and space bend under the fibrillations of the time-rip transfluxors. Your adrenaline and stomach reel with the hyperbolic hyperbole, and finally.. finally... nothing much happens. That must not have been a valid code. Try again!
Can anyone tell me what happens when wilco from space quest one buys the robot and just after he leaves the time ripper show up can someone tell me what happens or tell me what video I can watch it thanks
@ 1:043:45 , Kings Quest 48, over 12 Gigabytes in length. Lol that's nothing by todays standards. Titanfall is what 50GB? Well I suppose if they had of kept making Kings quest by the time 48 came out it would prolly be over 12 GB.
Wizzard Oo my bad @ 1:03:48, there is a Kings quest 48 game box and theres a line in the description which says its over 12 Gigabytes in length. Was just making a joke about how large games have gotten and how IF Sierra was still around and they kept making Kings Quest games, the game probably would be over 12GB in size.
***** If you mean it serious, there is no "probably over 12 GB" really. 12 GB is extremly big for a Point and klick adventure.I don't know when Kings quest 38 should came out, but if it would be 2D i could be very likly under 12 GB.If they kept it oldschool it could even be under 5 GB. Which is still much more than back then.
I was maybe 4 or 5 and Dad just finished playing this game. It was dinner time and I found myself scared to get off the toilet because I thought that limping metal bowel head zombie Fack was behind Me...😂🤣🤦🏾♂️😩😎😭😏 Good times!!
Space quest is a fine example of what happens when you let zany writing play a bigger role in the story telling than amazing graphics. It's immersive in a different and very rewarding way.
@freeflymonkey There was no way to win the hamburger stage, you just needed to earn enough credits to buy the code book from the software bin in the electronics store........if my memory serves me correctly
Well, there is no way to win because there is no victory condition. You just keep playing and getting buckazoids. All the player really needs to do is earn enough for the code book.... and the pocket pal PC if the player is "unfortunate" enough to not pick that up from the beginning.
I got through this game once with a walkthrough and then the second time I played it this damned game just didn't play fair and NEVER let me escape from that dome without being shot. When you're doing everything the walkthrough tells you to do and it still insists on killing you, that's when I knew it was time to say goodbye to this one for good. Pity because you could have some real fun by hearing Garry Owens narration programmed for comments when doing something ridiculous.
I've never played this game. This is a good commercial. Reading other comments, these ARE amazing graphics, but they're not the photorealistic Unity dazzlefests millennials like you are used to.
How!? How in earth can someone like this game? It's a pathetically bad adventure with a lots of "action-scenes", random dying and endless saveloading. The worst.

Absolutely adored this game. Gary 'Space Ghost' Owens voice narrating your adventure was simply the greatest.
This was my favorite game during my childhood. I did so much weeding and lawn mowing to buy this game. Best Sierra Adventure imo.
I still have the 3 1/2" floppies!
The smell of grass recently cut is in my imprinting too
I played the Amiga 500 Version in 1991😉. I remembered that the Amiga Version had 6 Disks
Space Quest was my favourtie out of the Sierra adventure games I still have the CD's of the remastered versions. I use to love police quest and Kings Quest and Quest for Glory as well they were all great

My favorite of the entire series THANK YOU SO MUCH AHHH MEMORIES!
Hey, keep your hands off yourself. This is a family game.
That's rated teen
Holy shit i'm having INSANE flashbacks....
I can remember what mouse I used and the smell of my PC
Me too
I will always love this game. Still one of my favourites.
RIP Gary Owens
Gary Owens isn’t dead 🤣🤣 he in da the new movie comin out call “back on the strip” wit my boy Kevin hart and Tiffany haddish fine azz
@@stevesharpe3370 thats a different Gary Owens its not the same person

That would be 8,534 floppies. If you stacked all these floppies in one tower, it would be close to 92.5 feet tall.
Are you the fun guy at parties?

....you're already there...
"Okay, you now have the Unstable Ordnance. Remember, it was YOUR idea! Good luck."
That must not have been a valid code. Try again!
This is the later version that for some reason removed the Radio Shack from the mall...
Sierra Adventure games were awesome! Not a lot of things give me the "feels" but these do. :D
I LOVED This Game.... It frustrated me to no end though....
me too! I never beat it. got close apparently lol..
Requires MCGA, CGA, VGA, PGA or TA-RA-RA-BOOMGA! Cracked me up!
pj0t XDGA?
Lol 12 GB for a game in the future ha!
Very good

25:45 The labian sector of Space Quest II, really?
I always believed that the manager of Monolith Burger so insisted that the burgers be made his way because he ate every single one that comes off the line as soon as he received it.
So the burger place can't find employees (49:37) and all the electronics are delayed and sold out (1:19:44)? Sierra predicted 2022!
😂 so glad I found this. This was one of my favorite games growing up. All I could remember of it was trapping the energizer bunny to get the battery 😂😂😂
The game where most of the future is spent inside a mall...
I believe that IS the original copy protection...
i tried for months with my brother to get past the darn hamburger making stage. never made it. how does it end. i loved this game then hated it. so much fun. so creative.

1:02:35 I love that Loom reference!
Type in: "Ways to Die" there's one guy here, MrWhitman, who does most of the ways to die in these old games.
@thunder636 That's simply Roger Wilco from Space Quest IV arriving in the Time Ripper. When that fucking zombie caught you tho..... Countless pants were pissed.
Where are the 2 guys from Andromeda?
I don't know how to find the Adlib soundtrack as played in this longplay, please help me!!
Pretty sure this narrator also does the latter of the Larry games, 6 and possibly 7?

this is a good play through, but when I play I lick everything lol

@00:42:14 I love the Quest for Glory theme here. :3
can anyone tell me after u get fired from the buger shop what would happen if u go back in
Can anyone tell me what happens when wilco from space quest one buys the robot and just after he leaves the time ripper show up can someone tell me what happens or tell me what video I can watch it thanks
They were giving this game out when it was new if you switched to sprint to long distance ah the good ole days.
C.D. Romberg?
OMG! i love this game! I play at return from school in my little room :) no problem no thought, and a lot of imagination
@ 1:043:45 , Kings Quest 48, over 12 Gigabytes in length. Lol that's nothing by todays standards. Titanfall is what 50GB? Well I suppose if they had of kept making Kings quest by the time 48 came out it would prolly be over 12 GB.

Lmfao this part is what made me start reading the comments. I knew it would be mentioned. haha but yea, shit 12 gigs in the day was HUGE
talbond The new King's Quest game (the throwback one done in episodes) is over double that size ;) lmao
They are teaming up again to make a new game called SpaceVenture. successfully funded by kickstarter, but I think you can still donate !
I was maybe 4 or 5 and Dad just finished playing this game. It was dinner time and I found myself scared to get off the toilet because I thought that limping metal bowel head zombie Fack was behind Me...😂🤣🤦🏾♂️😩😎😭😏 Good times!!
soundblaster?
I barely know her!
Did it have speech or has this been added?
This is the CD Version. The floppy version didn't have speech
They are making a new space adventure.
THe Graphics were the absolute bomb back then :D
Why do they talk? I can't remember talk.
Then you probably played the floppy version and not the CD remake.
i wanted to see the different deaths. this is more like a walkthrough
Finally i can say I have done a longplay...haha. At least i would consider it one even though i commentated through the 2 hour process of it
@CoreyD1086 , I would actually pay for a game like this, but another bad sequal to some EA-game; not a chance.
Space quest is a fine example of what happens when you let zany writing play a bigger role in the story telling than amazing graphics. It's immersive in a different and very rewarding way.
That burger section looks really annoying!
a 3.5'' circomcision needed to play Where in the world is Hymie Lipschitz LOL

daje minus za to ze nie ma napisow dialogow po angielsku, w poprzednich czesciach od 1-3 byly napisy dialogów a tu tylko napisy narratora sa włączone
No, the trick is more trial and error than is worth putting into a 3 hour game.
37:25 hot
D: Well at least a very long Let's Play haha.
i Wonder if there would ever be a SIM SIM SIM? a SIM SIM SIM SIM? SIM SIM SIM SIM Societies?
What I mean he buys a ship then buys the robot then travels to space then the time ripper shows up
LET ME GO BI..ERH..WITCH lol

lol, boom
Lol SIM SIM
How I disslike that robot and zombie, pests annoying pests!!
1:02:40 - wow guys from Sierra are such an arseholes. Loom was awesome. Much better than any of the Space Quest.
Ugh, Sierra games are fucking awful. Seriously, beating this without a walkthrough seems absolutely impossible.
An okay game, but totally lacking the charm of SQ 1 - 3. I always thought that this could make an interesting movie under the right direction...
JW3HH
Have chris pratt play Roger Wilco
Jesus. Roger's voice acting stinks as much as I had remembered it.
