  • Executive Outcomes was a South African private military company (PMC) that operated during the 1990s. Executive Outcomes was known for providing military and security services to governments facing internal conflicts or rebel insurgencies. Their highly trained personnel, including former members of elite military units, were involved in combat operations, training local forces, and providing strategic support to their clients.
While the company achieved military success in some of its operations, it also faced criticism and controversy for the use of private military forces in armed conflicts.

The problem with EO is they broke the 12th commandment:- "Thou Shalt Not Make Important People Look Incompetent"

EO will never be replicated in today`s environment. They were supreme and not recognized for what they were. Blackwater come close, however they had different missions with very different type of people and standards. If the world wants a new EO, there are some very few people in the league of Eben Barlow today. There are plenty of high rated NGA today, but the brains, knowhow and personnel in sync is not here today.

Wait for it, you just need a situation like that of SA in the 90s. If a professional army disbands a large chunk of it's forces including trainers and special operations you could have the manpower and then it will only be needed an entrepreneur like Barlow. Although it's true that Barlow stated that part of the success was due to economics. The payment and salaries EO employees had at the time was enough to live well in SA and most african countries at the time, those 2k -7k dolars were enough to buy a farm or a large state back in the day, that is a huge factor.

Yes?... Guess again. Do you think that we stop learning? People like us never stop observing. Necessity is the mother of invention.
Even Australia now has a PMC.
No doubt we will get all the bumber stickers too but it matters nothing when government fails in security, we thrive.
Trust me, Eeben and Erik is not done. We are just getting started.

BTW, the name “Executive Outcomes” is a pretty douchey name, but pretty badass at the same time. However, EO was doing legitimate work until Papua New Guinea. And sometimes the only way to pay was temporarily granting resource rights.

To be honest, I actually trust Eeben Barlow and Executive Outcomes in the assurance of world peace than the UN -whom in my humble opinion and despite their task as being "peacekeepers", has an agenda of their own at another's expense.

This is what people miss in the gun debate. The UN deploys thousands of armed men in conflict zones around the world, and they get ran over every time. But mercenary groups with very limited budgets and significantly less manpower, achieve results in weeks. There's a huge difference between waving a gun around and actually being able to use it. If a Navy Seal went rogue in Texas for example, he will still take out a huge number of people regardless whether they're armed or not.

Easy to achieve “results” when you aren’t bound by rules of warfare and diplomacy.

Strategy is everything. That is why EO thrived and still does. Eeben is a master strategist. That is his foundational skill. Not that he is warrior, a mercenary or anything else. He is a strategist.

If UNITA fell in such a short time against a small trained group confirms it was all SADF back then who did the fighting.
