- A large crowd for a street “takeover” event did more than just disrupt traffic Saturday night in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood.
According to the Seattle Police Department (SPD), officers responded to the event around 10:30 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Western and Elliott avenues. A department spokesperson told KOMO News around 150 cars and 500 people were “in and around the intersection.”
“I had no clue. It just kept going high RPM like roar roar, so I didn’t come out because I ain’t the type of guy who wants to go out and participate in type those types of activities, but you know I did hear the noise,” Nathan Jackson told KOMO. He lives in an apartment, just steps from the intersection where drivers were doing burnouts and spinning donuts.

No arrests made 😂 seattle is a joke
Apparently 151 cars is the minimum threshold for arresting people.
Another attribute to the dystopian nightmare that Seattle is.
150 cars
No arrests made…
Maybe they will come later. They have before so keep your eye out and watch your back.
what a great city. a shining light for wa state.
I’d much much rather be in Seattle over many U.S. cities and regions.
@@wjkseawhy?
@@Solideogloria00 You must not live here or even visited. I can’t imagine asking why.
@@wjksea you’re right. I would not want to visit that city. Some people I know have left and many others say bad things about it for the chaos that goes on there apparently
Great policy choices.
They don't vote policy in Seattle, they vote color and that color is Blue.
That new aquarium looks awesome. Near the space needle are large complexes for bio science research. Trash will be attended to along the way.
Any LEO knows how to solve this issue but are not allowed for political reasons. Only a matter of time before a vigilante takes action.
Maybe it is being dealt with and you don’t know it. The people who make the difference take the time needed unlike the trolls who think it should happen with the flick of a wand. Tax exempt church business is not the answer to the problem.
Seattle is a liberal democrat run city.
Any questions?
thanks bot
Washington getting what it voted for.
What did it vote for? A rapidly improving water front? I’m not sure how much Seattle voted for Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, HuLu, Facebook, Google, but they are all here suffering this hell scape of increasingly more walkable neighborhoods with traffic calming, awesome views, great air, increased green planting and bike trails.
@@wjksea and the worst fentanyl homeless crisis in the country
No arrest? This city for real? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I thought SPD and City Council had a plan? What happened to special task force? So they couldn’t put someone on the ground in all that time recording all plates? Why not have vehicles come in silent and block off all streets over a period of time and slowly move those vehicles in and tighten it around them all and CATCH them all? Get with it YOU have ruined the city with your sloth
Do you ever actually visit the city? I walked to the sight where the cars were. Hard to see the rubber marks. Then I walked down town. Over heard some young guy comment to his co-workers who were in town due to work. One said “I can’t take pictures “ another said, “oh because your wife gets jealous “? Yep… their wives get jealous when they come to a city on the rise that’s beautiful and isn’t being pounded by floods, tornadoes and extreme temperatures.
Hum oh Seattle you defined the police and these q have no consequences.
R.I.P Murica
R.I.P. Russia and vast areas facing an angry planet.
That annoying guy in the intro
And you just paid your cops more. Maybe you should’ve just hired more cops. And made sure they got to a street take over before it got to five hundred. Are you kidding me. This is horrible police work. wtf?
Dying city. If you want change, you need to vote. We have a bad voting record in this state. If you want change, you’re gonna have to vote and you’re gonna have to vote differently and vote many of these out!
Build a wall?
Dying city? Ha, when did you actually witness anything? This happened between Amazon and Ballard.
Its quite apparent many have lost their humanity some how 🤔
Including the people reporting this
I’ll continue to vote blue. The more people try to make this a political issue the more entrenched I’ll be to recognize this isn’t a political issue. It’s definitely a sick society one and I’d have to add the observation of nearly 40 years living in this city. Where has this anti-social trash moved in from? This wasn’t what it was before big tech entrepreneurs blew in and overcompensated some and displaced others. Looks like something MAGA Boeberts kids would engage in for sure. Yes, law and order. Disappear this trash then disappear any enablers in the form of family, friends and apologists seeking forgiveness. Is that not liberal?
I’m over here in Tacoma and this simple would not be acceptable here. The police department doesn’t do what they should in Seattle. These are punk kids trying to be hard. And how in the hell can 150 cars show up faster than the police can break it down. Sound like the police don’t want to get dirty and do their jobs. You’re telling me that there were no cops on patrol who saw this starting.
Your want to entrench is exactly what politicians desire. If there are people will vote for you regardless of what you do, why try to do anything useful for them?
Currently, the seat of the presidency boils down to a groups of wealthy people (the party) pulling the threads to make certain individuals (in the party) more profit and basically doing nothing for the people at large.
Personally, I'll offer my vote to whoever has a stronger or more realistic plan in mind when looking to tackle the issues I care about. I don't vote on color code. And I don't believe any one political party is perfect. I think that voting on color code is what is bringing us to ruin. Not enough people willing to swing towards people running that actually care about trying to improve things.
@@bleachknight90 , I walk downtown Seattle frequently. I’d say there’s no reason to mess with a good direction. Look across this country and region. Seriously examine the stats. Seattle is on track. The pandemic really messed with systems and people. The new norm hasn’t coalesced.
