The Hayabusa hasn’t had any engine upgrades for many years now and the GSXr1000 has upped their horsepower to be comparable to the Hayabusa. 10 years ago the Hayabusa would smoke the 1000cc.

The GSxr didn’t beat it. The hayabusa came past the gixxer. The lighter bike always gets off to a faster start and then the bigger bike comes past it.
