Sea of Tears Dillinja Remix then. You heard it here first!
I really hope that happens. As long as he doesnt do a 'Fast Car' to it!
A tune I only revisit every decade or so as it’s almost too much. Genius
Such an amazing tune
The fact that Dillinja is on here is crazy, he really is one of the quietest guys in the scene
But the loudest tunes!
Brixton's finest!! The music does the talking. I've gotta say those Valve Sound System raves were epic!! We religiously went to Mass. If you know you know 😂
Valve were my best raves. Too loud they we’re giving out ear plugs 🔊🔉🔊🔉
@@marvinclarke2014 Exactly!!! The sound was like a military onslaught. It took me several days to recover. Big up you know!! It was crazy!! Something hard explain unless you were there.
Good for him, let your art speak for you. Too many love showing off but whose tunes fade as fast as their habits
Please do a part two with Dillinja and have him talk more about his music process, what equipment he uses, and bass techniques and overall drum processing, he’s way to elusive for such a giant. Get it done Goldie.
Bet its about to drop. Remember the 'edit' part. Thx Robert! Sic vid!
Dillinja is my fave producer. You can never tired of his sound.
same here
4 sure 💯
His Capone tracks ❤ most, but all Mr.Francis Tuneage can't fault. From the Edam to the Darkness.
Just Warming Up
Da buddha of blue note.."Violent killa" smashed out blue note.. groove rider had to wheel it back 5 times. That sub bassline.. hurt enough man 🔥🔥
TOTALLY! That Eskimo rig @ the BlueNote was serious. Low ceilings made it even more intense. Imagine if we had a time machine......
Woah them BeatS. Militant SLAMMER 😍
I have certain pieces of vinyl i'm super proud to own. Things like Kemal + Rob Data's Encryptor, Goldie's Manslaughter, Bulletproof's Nephilim remixed by Konflict, and Technical Itch's Stack 3 remixed by Hive.
Violent Killa destroys all of those. Nothing quite like it honestly.
me, sitting here, american born, 1997 trying to live out the blue note experience vicariously through the stories
Great place. Hoxton had some goodnights in the 90s. It was a great place for music throughout the 90s early 2000s.
I feel the same way, sep 10 years earlier. Was a kiddo through the 90's. The shadow of my youth. Only heard it going through UK through the airport, teleportin through to the motherland in Euro. & through the cracks on Jamaica NYC. The music of the Timeless.
thank you for this Goldie. Dillinja is the don...and we all just love to hear from him!
Very possibly my two biggest inspirations just having a casual chat reminiscing about the good times and planning for the future times to come. I feel blessed to get to listen to this. Thanks for the upload Goldie and thanks for the dedication you both put in our scene. So much respect guys.
Literally was just talking to someone about the Blue Note days and in particular the club culture back then; finding myself on the dancefloor next to Goldie and Dillinja. Where else, as a young, impressionable teenager, obsessed with the scene, could you be absorbed in this sound surrounded by your idols. I then pop on to RUclips and found this video. Thank you Goldie! This is super inspiring to hear!
I've seen Dillinja and Lemon D in Berlin at the Icon Club ( unfortunately got closed due to hipster snowflakes that aren't even born in Berlin... )...
Both were late, looked hungover 🤣 but still done their thing. I was underwhelmed but of course happy to see one of my favorite producer of the time..." The Angels Fell " still remains one of the 25 best Tracks ever to bless vinyl.
What an experience!! 😎
WOAH..DILLINJA NEVER DOES INTERVIEWS !..WICKED..SEA OF TEARS RE-TOUCH..MADNESS..RESPECT !
Dillinja needs to make a cybatron part 2 !!!!! Same vibes New tunes
Brixton Mass was a killer!! Days of recovery after them nights!! Back when DNB ravers religiously flocked to Mass. Bless the Valve Sound System era!! RIP Brixton Mass and The Fridge. Respect Dillinja you consistently built classic after classic!! Miss those days!!
The Bluenote days...if you were there drop a comment! legendary. Still have the vinyl by Goldie & Dillinja, Salute
Was there, am still there, will always be there
D&G dnb legends
Dillinja describing his philosophy of making tunes in the exact way you would imagine 🤣🤣🤣
Dillinja is a fucking don, especially loved his early jungle stuff like lionheart, sovereign melody etc
Dillinja is and always will be or my car stereo... I play that shit load and proud in Geneva, Switzerland.
Mad Respect to Dillinja, quiet Sigma male but his Creativity is incredible, no flash, no empty words, just Originality and deep person.
Dillinja on Sea of Tears!!!! Dude, the mind boggles already. Tear the tears!
Preemptive comment that anyone who down votes this conversation just don’t deserve to understand it.
Big up Dillinja.. a true pioneer! Who you never hear saying dumb ish like I started Jungle,
The GOATS of DnB
Still groundbreaking today
Mind-blowing every time
Last artists I saw throw down a set right before the pandemic was officially announced was Dillinja and Respect in LA. Glad I got a chance to drive up to the city of angels to hear his epic set. Dillinja is one of the goats 🐐 Thanks for this interview Goldie 🙌🏽
*at Respect
I bought Timeless whan it came out, i was blown away,...Jungle Dnb Sound of that 90´s is really Timeless,....am getting back to that vibe now in my own music creations,....Thanks Carl and Goldie for your presence and inspiration
This music is a feeling - so many want to know how man made this etc etc, we just felt it, bass heavy, drums heavy, and the musical / science element in there, working in sync. HipHop tbh, hiphop slapped. DnB don’t slap anymore, the Jungle resurgence however…. And mainstays like Paradox / Equinox / Sci Wax label etc . Music with feeling.
It’s not rocket science - put yourself in the ting.
im a massive fan of dillinjas work there is just something special about his drops and the way the drums compliment the bass rather fighting it. hopefully he will release a new album i need that fix of some old and new styles of dillinja.
You heard his new remix of UrbanDawn - Come Together?
Instant like before watching. Legend!
Legends!
King and Professor talking ... :)
Legends, bless ❤️❤️❤️❤️
off the record
^_^
❤️
Love this.. learned a lot and can hear the love
when Goldie says off the record lol
Dillinja mentions at 17:12 that Kevin (aka Lemon D) still has his studio next door; are there any updates on music that he's releasing?
Yeah. That was nice to hear. I always wonder what Lemon D is up to. Love his tracks.
🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌👍
For me heads started with terminator I loved that track when I was getting into mixing. Thanks for the insight lads great to hear some raw detail. Big up to you both 👊
👍
Nice one fam!
just how can a presale be sold out
unexplored terrain -
First!
Originality can't be planned. The second one try's to plan out true expression it becomes a gimmick.
No video?
Think Dillinja is clearly too busy being an absolute badman to give a lot of interviews
first
Dillinja was a good producer but I and quite a few others lost a bit of respect for him when he slagged off a new producer for making mistakes on his Twitter. Nobody starts off making perfectly polished tracks at the beginning.
Ah. Must have been a sort of frustration towards the average level of music these days.
We lack a shit filter.
@@xanderpills I also produce so sending demos is always a worry for new producers starting out but how people respond is always telling and you will make a judegement based on that.
He was laughing at the levels on the track which is an easy thing to rememedy with simple advice. He also chose to do it on twitter instead of direct email.
Its just unfortunate some people in the business dont come across very well but its really down to them and it ruins their rep.
DNB is known for having dodgy players.....
@@harryhill8543 I hear ya. Not only DNB, but rap, man. Most problems I ever encountered were with rappers.
@@xanderpills yeah was big into rap in the 90s but that business is horrific. Even Jam Master Jay was a coke dealer. The stories on DJ VLad etc make me pleased I have nothing to do with it.
I know guys who were big in DNB and basically got violence leveraged against them to sign over a popular track.
Also if you have read the DJ Rap or Jumping Jack Frost books you would probably cross the street to avoid these people if you seen them coming lol
When did this happen?
We should recognise none of us are infallible, we’re all humans and make errors of judgement in the journey of life.
