I absolutely love the character design on the album cover. It's like every woman protagonist from every early 2000s survival horror game combined into one. And the music is also killer! If you had told me this was from an actual video game soundtrack, I would had believed it.
@@cursedjamcosplay Hey! Thank you so much!! ❤️ I love old school survival horror games, so that's what i wanted for the cover of this album. I'm also glad that you enjoy my music man! ❤️
A mix of different woman from different Survival horrors that are classics : Jill Valentine from RE3 for the eyes/attitude, Ashley from RE4 with a bit of Regina from Dino Crisis, but also Fionna Belli from Haunting Ground & Fatal Frame girlies for the overall look/coloring.
The PS1/PS2 survival horror era always had the best eerie atmospheres, that at the same time made you uneasy and comfortable. There's no way not to get immersed. 💿 ShymNoiz, congrats on your ost, keep on the path brother.
Love the album, all my favorite games osts rolled into a great soundscape. The character on the cover art is 10/10, she needs to be in a survival horror game.
It's interesting how, for example, Akira Yamaoka was clearly inspired by Portishead and maybe NIN also (at least i see a lot of Trent's "tricks" in SH soundtracks), and Trent and early NIN was inspired by Coil, David Bowie, etc. What "roots" Portishead has - i don't even know. And then there's stuff like this that is not ashamed of its inspirations but it's not just these "inspirations", of course - as everything before it transforms, evolves with each "iteration". Anyway, looking forward to enjoy soundscapes and grainy echoing beats.
No he was inspired by Skinny Puppy, fuck NIN. Skinny Puppy is the real shit man. cEvin Key and Akira are literally IRL buddies btw. and Yeah Coil argueably invented Dark Ambient in the 80s. Before Lustmurd.
@@MagnitudePerson i mean, i like Skinny Puppy, don't know about "fuck NIN" part tho. The Downward Spiral is one of my favorite albums, and, as i wrote, i personally see a lot of TDS especially in Silent Hill 3 and 4 OSTs, in terms of sound design and composition-wise: sound design is very musical and abstract, unlike something like End Position by Street Sects (who are actually borrow a lot from Skinny Puppy), where sounds represent things that these sounds actually are, if this makes any sence, where in TDS sounds make a specific texture that connect you with the meaning on a contextual level, and as a composer Trent is minimalist, i would say - he likes simple, but emotional pieces, and, i think, Akira Yamaoka does too. I think that you just prefer that one thing over the other, which is completely fine, but it wasn't my point. One artist that you don't like could be an influence to some artist that you do like.
Was getting ready to be disappointed at a lack of guitar driven title/credit sequence.. until The Otherside came on and it really felt earned. Great tunes, keep it up.
The fact that you can create a whole game from controls, the graphics, the story, and the gameplay all in your head from just listening to this music tells you how well the music is designed...truly hit the spot with everything. Personally "Home" made me tear a bit, felt like some long lost Main Menu theme that just gives you some deep gut feeling. Beautiful work🙏
For a fan of dark ambient/trip-hop and ps1/ps2 survival horror games like me this is truly a gem. So inspiring, what an immersive world you've created. I can hear and visualize so many different games into one and feel all your passion and work. I want to play this game so bad but I can't cause it doesn't exist.
