My wife and I just got back from at trip to the Iberostar Grand Rose Hall. We chose it in part based on this video. What a great vacation! The hotel was wonderful, the room was outstanding with a comfortable bed and the staff at the hotel were friendly, attentive, and accommodating. The food was delicious with several dining option. This trip was for our 20 year anniversary and was amazing! Thank you for your great informative videos!!
For many years we went to the Treasure Beach area on the south coast. Not all inclusive but much more inexpensive and getting to know the locals was so much fun. They even remembered us when we would return the following year. Rustic, great places to swim, quiet and very nice folks.
Jamaica's tourism and hotel sector has definitely grown. I first visited in June 2005 when the currency exchange was 67 Jamaican Dollars to 1 American dollar. Those days are long gone. I found that out when I visited Rose Hall Hilton back in March 2013 for my sisters wedding. Prices have skyrocketed. It is still my favorite place to visit. I've gone to Montego Bay, Ocho Rios and Negril four times. Wonderful fun time with each experience. The food is always good at Scotchies, Margaritaville and most Jamaican places that serve jerk chicken. We will be going back for my sisters 10 year anniversary. Most likely staying at the Rose Hall Hilton. The All inclusive package was ideal with 7 onsite restaurants, lazy river, onsite beach. It was wonderful.
Planning to go there with kids, looks beautiful. Was wondering if they have always food options for kids (picky eaters) like regular chicken tenders and fries and Mac n cheese.. can be in the most wonderful resort but if they don’t offer those few staples for the kiddos, can’t enjoy and mealtime becomes a mission impossible 😝 originally was going to do Hyatt Ziva ( hv done the Cancun one) and I know they always hv those options for kids but wanted to try Hilton rose hall.
WOW ... Awww boy there is something about Jamaica that's always impressive me every time I visit .. wow such a wonderful little Island👍😊😄👌 . the last time I been there I visited " the Bahia Principe Hotel 💜💜 ". that was one of the best 2 week unforgettable vacation moments in my life Totally so so soooo Epic😊💜😄👌👍.

PP: Passport Pages thank you !!! This video definitely made me even more excited !!! I felt a bit guilty about the splurge but I think it’s definitely worth it !
If you must do a All Inclusive do, The RIU Palace Tropical Bay Resort on Bloody Bay in Negril..if you want to hang with the locals stay on 7 mile beach. Look into The Negril Treehouse. I stay for 7 weeks at The Treehouse and I go solo. They all keep a watchful eye on you so don’t worry. I leave my beach bags on my chair for hours and it’s always there when I return.
What resort would you recommend for a group of people all in their early 20s? I’m going to Jamaica in January to celebrate my 25th birthday and would like to be somewhere that’s relaxing but has a great nightlife.
Thanks for the video! I wasn’t able to celebrate my 30th birthday the way I would’ve liked because of the pandemic. I’m in the process of planning a trip to Jamaica or Mexico for my 31st bday
How would you rank Royalton Blue water? We are looking to go June next year & this hotel looks fabulous with the diamond package. Moon palace was also on the list but looking at nearly £2000 more & didn't look much more for the money
Ok so Im not sure what area or city I want to go to yet , I’m looking for a nice resort on the beach ( which I’m sure their all are). It don’t have to be TO fancy , I just want to be somewhere that isn’t to far from the Jamaican people if that make any sense. I Wana be close to the local stores and spots to explore and embrace the culture. Any suggestions?
One correction on Iberostar. The lazy river is at the Suites not the Grand. Yes the Grand guests can walk over to the Suites to use it. After staying at Iberostar 5 times I have to say save your money and stay at the Suites. You get soooo much more there. Unless you want a very quiet laid back boring vacation then stay at the Grand.
Best Stay..The Negril Treehouse. Best Dinner...Best in the West jerk chicken, save your soul St Mary’s church, best lunch Auntie Jamaican patty’s. All in walking distance on 7 mile beach.
It's a special birthday next year and I'm thinking of taking my daughter to Half moon or Excellence she likes a relaxing atmosphere but with some night life in the evening, what would you suggest please.
How old is your daughter? Kids under 18 aren’t allowed at Excellence so that might be a factor for you. It’s also a bit more low key and quiet but Half Moon would have more to do. Both great options!

Great reviews.... I've been to Iberostar Grand, Suites and Hyatt Ziva and Zilara. Although the Iberostar Grand and Suites are very nice.... the Hyatt Ziva and Zilara are the best all inclusive resorts I've ever been too. Top notch. Ziva side for families and Zilara side for adults only.

Hi Vanessa, I appreciate your recommendations. This is my first time seeing your video. Are you a professional in the travel industry or simply a traveler giving us your opinions on these locations?
We are a group of friend (5couples) training to Jamaica soon. Trying to decide between breathless (because we like the rooms better but has no beach of its own) or Hyatt Zillara (because I’ve seen it come up alot as a top resort). Which of these two resorts would you pick over the other and why please?
I’ve personally never been so that’s why it’s not on the list, but I’ve heard good things, especially about how each room has a balcony. Just beware that there are a lot of families with kids next door, so if you’re looking for quiet, that might be an issue
I’ve stayed there in 2015 and am heading back in October. If you’re looking for a large resort with dining options and a quiet atmosphere I highly recommend. If you want to do activities you must drive, there is no walking. Roughly 90 minutes from the airport. For the price point compared to competitors it’s got a big thumbs up from me.
Bahia is not the best... I'd recommend Royalton or Ocean Coral Spring over it...staff isn't great, food is up and down, it's huge so it can be a pain to move around but it's on the cheaper side so many people still go... another great option is Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton

I visited W/O in 2018 and I'm going back for Christmas an Newyear. It's a beautiful resort an most importantly has the vibe most resorts lack in Jamaica.
