    I'm 5 years into it now,it is amazing sleep,my military wooby prevents cold butt.i do use the end hammock pillow to put under my knees.Usually one blanket is enough.i used to wiggle and toss and turn,but not anymore with the hammock.I love people's reactions when they find out I sleep in one as well as their faces as they see how much space I have in my room.Definately a great lifestyle change.Thumbs up here

    About the size. I sleep in a tttm double hammock and have tried a smaller one and I'm almost 5'2" but I think a wider hammock is comfortable if you want a more comfortable option and are planning to sleep in it a lot. In my experience it's also easier to find the best angle when the hammock is wider. Great video!!!💪💪🌼

    Cheers Roy! Very useful information.. I'm going to covert the V-berth on my tiny 25ft yacht into extra storage for longer passages, so this gives me more confidence to make those changes. The other thing you said about controlling sleeping heat I'd never thought of. I always boil in bed especially on hot nights and of course, that's from the mattress, so I should be able to regulate that a lot better.
    Take care!

      @@MrDeanDog91 If you see at 5:25 in the video, the cord takes a bit of the tension from the straps. If you can zoom up/look at the connection between the cord, strap, and hammock. I hoped that helped.

      Try buying a double hammock for camping. The wider the more comfortable they are I have found. Good luck to you! Hammocks rock!

    How long do your hammocks usually last?

    • @nutisechaos4625
      @nutisechaos4625 3 года назад

      Pretty long from what I have researched, (currently into sleeping in one). Only thing to wear it down is a hole created by something.

    Rocket man,
    I love the video and I’m getting into hammocks. Okay, so the prussick ridgeline set at 9 ft...
    Can you explain that?
    Are you trying to find consistent tightness each time you set it up?
    How does the prussick come into play? How’d you do it?

    • @ChasingCornfields
      @ChasingCornfields  4 года назад +1

      You have that exactly right. You can set up a hammock so it is parallel to the ground, but that isn't all that comfortable. You want a certain amount of 'sag'.
      The hammock I have is over 9' but I experimented with where I hooked the biners into the straps I have. Once I found what is comfortable with me, that's when I measured from biner to biner, the ridgeline. With a rope set to the right length using the prusssick, when ever I set up the hammock, it wont extend past the distance of the ridgeline rope. This means I get the same sag, so the hammock feels the same every time I get in.

    Can i sleep on my side? Or do i must sleep on my back the whole time? Please someone reply to me. Greetings from germany. ^^

    • @ChasingCornfields
      @ChasingCornfields  5 лет назад +6

      Hello. I'd say hello in German, but I can't spell in English well as it is XP I do sleep on my side in the hammock so you can too. I do find that in a hammock I will naturally spend more time on my back than I would in a bed without being restless.

      @@ChasingCornfields Thanks for your reply. :) Yesterday i ordered my Mexican King Hammock from ebay. This hammock is ideal for any single user or two/three/four adults. I will sleep alone in it and hopefully, this hammock will replace our bed. Because since over a year i wake up with back pain and stiffness in my neck. Please wish me luck, that it will turn out great, because i'v spend 130€ on this hammock and i never slept in a hammock before. I'm not pregnant, but i wonder, if a pregnant women can sleep in it too, without getting hurt. Sry for my bad english.. :)
