I’ll have to locate these towns on a map. I was in Fishkill in April & that area was way too hectic & busy. In October 2024 I went back to the Catskills, but this time Windham, Hunter & Tannersville & this area was exactly what I was looking for. The Stone Arch Bridge and that Coffee Shop look like they have my heart. Thanks for posting
Love the video. As you can see in my channel’s name I live in the NY Catskill Mountains and ❤it!!!! It’s nice to see someone visiting and enjoying the beautiful scenery too.😊
This video made me cry . I had a weekend house there in Jeff since the 80’s and went to high school there in the last 90’s. Seems like a life time ago . Miss Jeffersonville . Had some cool friends there .
I know how you feel my family had a summer house there about a mile passed kellams bridge i miss going down there when i was a kid.we used stock up on food at pecks.lol.good times
Jeffersonville looks like a cute small town! We love small towns and walkable towns. We have never been to the Catskills but it is on our list to visit. It looks beautiful!
Very nice video. I'd just like to recommend lowering the music over the video if possible. I could barely hear the narrating over. If I put the volume louder music was almost unbearable. Thank you for the video though.
Thank you for this short tour of two of my favorite Catskills towns. I think you hit most of the high spots in Jeffersonville, although you were a few years too late for Ted's Restaurant, which was a local favorite for decades with its unusual combination of standard diner fare and gourmet Turkish cuisine. Tavern on Main has now taken over as the more upscale eatery, rivaled by the Old Foundation Restaurant in Kenoza Lake 2 miles down Hwy. 52. A quarter mile farther is the Stone Arch Bridge Historic Park that you captured nicely, with its unique triple-arch bridge that was built by Swiss settlers in the nineteenth century. Callicoon is much livelier with a wide variety of restaurants, small shops, and of course the single-screen move theater where you saw Elvis (we call it the Callicoon OnePlex). The only time I have seen it full was for Barbie. Callicoon figured briefly in the 2005 movie Transamerica, in which it was inexplicably transplanted to Kentucky. Callicoon is also a great spot for fishing the Delaware River and renting canoes or kayaks. Some of the restaurants/bars have live music, and in the summer Weekend of Chamber Music gives a number of concerts in Jeffersonville and Livingston Manor, while the Delaware Valley Opera Company presents operas and plays at its theater in nearby Lake Huntington.
Thank you that was great information! I have another almost finished video of the area I’m trying to finish :) mostly of Callicoon. I love it over there very peaceful 😊
The little towns in the Catskills seem like your in a Hallmark movie. My sister lives near Rhinebeck, a lot of celebrities live in that area. The mountain views are like from a Bob Ross painting. I always enjoy visiting.
Oh that’s soon very true! Can’t even describe how pretty and peaceful it feels there. Having resorts world there makes it even more attractive to visit!
the murder location by the Heidts, on the stone arch bridge is at 5:07 although you see the location up ahead she does not walk show the exact spot on film.
At 5:08 is the location of the locally famous Hex Murder in 1892 by my Great Great Grandfather Adam Heidt but allowed his son Joseph who was 23 to take the prison wrap with Adam in the State Crax\at Middletown, NY. Why? Probably this happened Adam had a year old bay girl named Mary at home......and they had more pressing long term concerns other than eradicating witchcraft in the physical forms. Crazy Town
