So I think that Wendell had to pay bills and and needed money desperately so someone offered him something like a job to kill people for money and since he was desperate, he did it.
After either he shot Wendy in the eyes by accident or they were in a car accident, Wendy needed a new pair of eyes and as the good big brother he is he made a surgery to take his eyes and give it to Wendy instead.
As we saw in the fast clip, the doctor replaced Wendell's eyes with mirrors but instead of the doctor giving the eyes to Wendy he took it for himself for research or stuff that's why she has these white bright eyes and Wendell has mirrors instead.
Again this is just a guess I may be wrong

From what I see, Wendall couldn't pay what he needed too ( bills or something) So whoever ( cowboy looking guy idk) was probably going to kill him/ his sister for his payment. Wendy was shot and died and now he blames himself for it. Also the therapist/doctor that he's going too isn't really Working.

Another edit: I noticed also that Wendy kind of has this split personality or 2 sides of herself. The one on the left keeps telling Wendall its "His fault" while the other one feels sympathy and tries to tell him its not his fault. Also Wendall keeps breaking mirrors when he thinks about her. There also how she lost her eyes too, and I think the doctor/therapist ( now it think a scientist idk) said he could help him with her eyes and gave her replacements. Idk

Wendy and Wendell parents left them at world war II with Wendell watching his sister Wendy had poor vision and when Wendell try to go to a special doctor but it ended up killing Wendy and Wendy has followed Wendell blaming him as Wendell use his mirror powers to try to manipulate people into telling him what happened so he knows how Wendy died he remember nothing so that basically the story

I have a theory. Wendell seems to be the one who mostly takes care of Wendy. Which should have been a role for the parents, but it looks lime they are out of the picture. Something must have happen to Wendy that cause her sight to be lost. This probably could have been the case of Wendell, seeming hitman job. Or possible hospital bills or surgery. But I more lean onto the side that the job cause her to lose her sight, as for one her eyes are bandage with signs on bleeding and two she said it was his fault. Then we get this blonde hair guy who, for spme reason, decided to try up Wendell. I did notice that the mirror is a picture of Wendell and Wendy which is odd. This may be symbolizing something, but I think that the doc or mad scientist replaced Wendells eyes with mirror pieces. Wendy's clothing does have a swap of colors and her eyes are blankless. And she seems to have a hug smile or a great frown. Probably seems like she never got her eye sight back, and seems to be a haunting reminder to wendell.
Edit: Wait! I think the mirror eyes also have an effect that makes Wendell see and be reminded of Wendy since the mirror came from a picutre frame.

God, your oc's are so amazing, I love the way that all three of them tie together, their backstories are just, aaa, flawless, and I can honestly never see myself coming up with good back stories, because, ah, creativity is not in my vocabulary?? After watching all the memes you made that surrounded the tale of you OCs, I've seen quite a few repeating themes throughout.
*Wendy's two contrasting sides, the sad one and the other that suggests a taunting expression. It honestly reminds me of those theatrical symbols. Ater a brief search, I had learned that they actually represent tragedy and comedy. The masks are also linked to a Greek god called Janus, who is apparently known as a two-faced god of new begginings.
*We see the reoccurring theme of mirrors, especially since Wendell literally has them for eyes. This is where your creativity and cryptic ways really get emphasized. In two of your animation memes, we see by the end that Wendell breaks mirrors quite often, at times wheras he is seemingly suffering from a traumatizing flashback regarding that scientist-looking guy that seemed to hold him hostage.
There aren't enough evidences to pinpoint the true meaning ang backstories behind this wonderfully crafted OCs, but damn, I am waiting by the edge of my seat to watch more of your gorgeous animations.
I'm sorry if this is extensively long, you may not be able to read this anyway, but I had been obsessing over the complexities you put into your work, a sign of a truly skilled artist. :>

How I view his backstory as :
I think that Wendell couldn't keep up with money, so he had to do illegal business. His "boss" told him to do something, to which he had refused. As a punishment for disobeying him, his "boss" was planning to hurt Wendell in the most painful way possible. He was sadistic, so he started torturing Wendy. First, her eyes, which caused her to become blind.(Explains her and Wendell's eyes which look like mirrors) The "boss" kept doing it until Wendell couldn't handle it anymore. He decided that there was no more life left for his little sister. Wendell shot her and then realized what he had done. He had murdered his sister. After that, he kept hearing Wendy calling out to him after she died, saying things such as "You could've helped me." Or "Your fault." That drove him to insanity. He would keep seeing Wendy behind him in mirrors, in crowds, and so on. (Sort of explains the doctor)

ok this will be my last comment but I think I understand Wendell's backstory (go to bottom if ur too lazy to read):
Wendell and his sis were probably living alone since its him who is settling bills. And desperate to get some cash, he probably did some dirty job, assassinating someone as we see him with a gun and afterwards a stack of money. Another reason to get that quick cash was probably due to his sister's eye injuries (she had bandages over her eyes). However, he probably got caught and was used as an experiment by some weird doctor who wanted to test something related to eyes and mirrors. And this turns out a bad idea. I think he can see his sister since the mirror used on him was from a pocket watch with a picture of Wendell and his sister probably died from her injuries as she repeatedly tells Wendell that it's his fault.
*SO SUMMARY: Wendell tried to earn money for he and sister by committing a crime, got caught instead and was used as a experiment for replacing eyes with mirrors.*

I think that maybe wendell? accidentally shot wendy like maybe around her eyes or head? So thats probably why she lost her eye sight,and bu the mirrors,I think wendell was angry because his eyes weren't looking maybe,so when the mirrors where broken maybe he was mad that HIS eye sight (reflection in a way) weren't paying attention. (This sounds dumb,it sounded better in my mind :/)

Doctor(maybe) shows us/wendall?? a piece of paper and then a locket with a mirror and picture of wendall and Wendy

Theory: Wendy (yellow dress) was very close to her brother Wendell. One day she had an accident, that gave her another personality (white dress). WD was a nasty person, and kept telling Wendell the accident was his fault. A doctor tells Wendell that if he transplanted mirrors to his eye sockets, Wendy would go back to normal. But this didn’t work, and Wendell started losing his mind.
Theory:
