      Well, the snail would be immortal, so it can't die from anything, I assume. And eventually, everything gives way. I imagine even a diamond can be eroded by a slow trickle of water. So I guess the snail would just pound against the thing encasing it until it eroded a snail sized hole in it.
      It'd give you a lot of time though.

    That has got to be the weirdest hypothetical question I've ever heard. I'd do it, but I think I'd spend a fair amount of time trying to kill the snail as well. Even if it can't die, but just to take out my frustration on it or something. There'd probably be times when I let it get close, then hit it with a golf club. Send the fucker flying. Or lure it over a landmine and blow it sky high. Actually, scratch that one. Knowing my luck, it'd fall on my head.

      I'm gonna assume that Gavin meant it can't die, otherwise the hypothetical becomes redundant. I mean, you could just step on it as soon as you receive the 10 mill. Wouldn't be much of a hypothetical if the snail can die that easily. It'd just be a case of handing over money really. Anyone would accept without hesitation.

      I can see why you ask the question, however there seems to be a set of very minute differences that have emerged thanks to the comic-book culture. Whereas Immortal once meant to live forever, it now often simply means living forever barring certain injuries (decapitation being a common one, like in Highlander), while Invincible/Indestructible means that they are impervious to harm and therefore live infinitely that way. Immortal typically involves the cessation of aging as well. The varient definition of Immortal that I have given as an example seems to have become commonplace nowadays, thanks to movies such as Highlander, as well as other movies, anime, tv shows, novels and comic books. Personally I think it's nit-picking, but that's the way the world goes. New definitions for existing words seem to crop up all the time.

      Over thousands of years, the snail would erode the cup with its slime and escape.

    • @hylianchriss
      @hylianchriss 8 лет назад +7

      +Matt Cubed Always goes directly toward you, in a straight line. No real intelligence to speak of, it is immortal and unkillable, never rests sleeps or has the need to feed - it will always move forward homing in on your current location. If you make a turn it turns with you, trying to follow the shortest route.
      But like Burnie later made up, 'What if the snail got to the guy first?' xD
      The base idea though is that you will always be hunted, that you can never feel truly safe and never truly sleep safely.
      Not that you have a foe constantly trying to out-smart you and trick you, that's a completely different issue :O

      The Mad Hammer But wouldn't you have to first have to find the snail, cause we're assuming that its just going to crawl toward you at all times instead of making an elaborate scheme, and then find some way of luring it into the sarcophagus? Then we have to assume that the snail is stupid enough to get lured into the sarcophagus, and not kill you while you try to lure it in

    Additonal penality, you cannot be more then 200 miles from the snail. If you are he will automatically teleport exactly 200 miles away so say your in a town and you go to another town that's 250 miles away..the snail is still in town 1 and will then proceed to teleport 50 miles and continue seeking you out at a distance of 200 miles because now it can fucking teleport in addition to being immortal.

    • @hylianchriss
      @hylianchriss 8 лет назад +6

      +Mark Zincke IMO that makes the snail MUCH less scary!
      The whole idea is that you can get a fake sense of security by going really really far away, being that you're immortal as well it could theoretically be centuries since the last time you even saw the snail. Maybe you start a new family at some point, watch your kids grow up, maybe you even forget about the snail.
      But it's always out there, always coming for you.

    • @LastTestament
      @LastTestament 8 лет назад +3

      +Mark Zincke Too easy, You put the snail in a box and travel with it at all times.
      it can't escape and you never need to worry about it getting you.
      You have to make too many additional rules to make it a real factor , that's why the "you're rich but have to kill someone every 2 weeks" is a harder thought puzzle

      Peter Daniels No, you're confusing longevity with immortality.
      Longevity is being immune to the effects of time, you don't age in any way shape or form.
      You are however right to say that immortality doesn't make you immune to physical effects. Being immortal means you cannot die. Period. Shot in the head? Still alive, though mental health may be called into question. Got your head cut off?... still alive, I think?

      FlunderingChipper yeah, people just hate it because the character was a native american.
      1. The story is just as good as history...LOL since 89% of the things in the game happened.
      2. The protagonist is exactly like altair but he actually cares about the world around him and fights something bigger then himself.
      3. Gameplay was the best AC at the time, no one can doubt that. (really at that point you are trying to hate it.)
      4. What was awful about the ending exactly? This is actually the first time I've seen someone complain about the ending of AC3.
      Their are afew things that the game has that are really weak and none of them are what you have listed. Like the Syns, Side missions, assassin followers, collectible and lack of sea missions. (which were so amazing they might stay in AC games from now on, they just lacked numbers in AC3)
      The game wasn't bad, i don't know what (lol) Soviet-Mustache is talking about. Probably just heard someone well known say the game is bad and like most drones just hopped on blindly.

      fakename712 But the snail is also immortal, so all you have to do to see if it's the correct one is drop a brick on it, and see if it's alive five minutes later. Then, if it isn't, the issue becomes finding it before it sneaks up on you...and the possibility there are other immortals with their own assassin snails on the loose, and them if you're catching the right one. Boom, full circle.

    Gotta give props to Jordan Cwierz. I find the snail to be cute. Especially when its curled up in the briefcase of money.

    I'd put that snail in a box, and then I'll put it inside of another box, and then I'll mail that box to myself. And when it arrives, I'LL SMASH IT WITH A HAMMER!

    Shit like this makes me glad I still read the comments section on RUclips.

    Here’s my plan: A welded shut Tungsten container molded around it that gets filled with melted Tungsten while the snail is in it. Then the Tungsten container is thrown in melted Rhenium. After it's solidified I have it sent to Venus Where everything but the Container melt and it's too hot for any human to be able to go. P.S. Tungsten Melting point-3422C, Rhenium Melting Point- 3180C, and Venus Surface Temperature 471C at night 475C during day. Even though the snails is immortal without any Oxygen or water it'll just be eternally passed out,or shriveled. And Even if by some miracle it manages to get out of the Rhenium and Tungsten, to be able to get back to earth it would have to not only replicate thousands of years of human Science, Engineering, Math, etc. that made modern day technology possible but also assembled the tons of metals, minerals, etc. needed to build computers, and the machines necessary to collect more materials, collect fuel, build, etc. And by the time it's able to accomplish half of that much it'll not only be noticeable to Earth but technology would’ve advanced so much that l'd be able to just send missels at it to incinerate everything and force it to start from scratch every time.

      @@qwizibo The snail will wait until the tungsten container is destroyed, then roam the surface of Venus until humans foolishly terraform it, at which point it will be free to pursue you.

      well it cant move when its in its shell, and snails dont have the best reaction times, so you could get some on his head before he goes back in, and once he is in his shell just put salt all around him so he cant move...and why am i thinking about this more than gavin is?
