Sorry to hear they are moving away from the fiberglass and gelcoat. That was a key feature for me. I'll keep my mind open to evaluate the new plastic material, however, i need to be convinced.
I wish you would not speak and let the interviewee speak. You kept interrupting him just to paraphrase what he already said. Please just ask questions and then listen quietly to his response. I still really appreciate the interview and the information, thank you.
Looks great - if you're an Oompa Loompa. At 6' 4" 230 lbs. I'd feel claustrophobic in that thing solo; +1 would be a joke. 39" vertical clearance?? Anyone much over 5' tall couldn't even sit up it, never mind someone my size. I don't get it. At six grand I REALLY don't get it. Not sure what market JB is aiming for w/ this tent - there must be a ton of very short, very lean, very deep-pocketed folks out there (without large families) gobbling these up. More power to 'em.... But they sure look cool - no doubt about that. Appreciate the content. I'll keep looking....
Thanks for watching and for your comments. We've sold and installed many many James Baroud tents to happy customers. Generally speaking the medium size James Baroud tents work well for folks that are under 6'2". It's a bit of a personal preference whether or not this style works for you in terms of the size and how the tent opens up. The 360 views, fit finish, ease of use, comfort and ability to take real world windy conditions is what sells people on the James Barouds. Most interested buyers are usually pleasantly surprised once they actually get into one of the demo tents at our shops and see much room there is inside. For reference, I'm 6'2" and I can sit up in the James Baroud and type on my laptop. With that said, the large size James Baroud RTTs are about nine inches wider and 9 inches longer. That may be a better fit for larger folks looking for more room. Hope that helps - I'm going to go watch Charlie and the Chocolate factory now! Cheers!
Thanks for watching! The specs we have show they weight about 155lbs. Next time we get once of these on our hoist, we'll look to weight it and report back as well. Thanks!
Thanks for the video. Amazing tent and refinement of the previous models. The fit and finish looks superb. I have heard they are going to release the XXL version of this, did they talk about that at the show?
Thanks so much for watching and the feedback. Much appreciated! Our understanding is the tentative release date for the XL (formerly called the XXL) is around May. This is tentative but it’s the latest we have from JB. Hope that helps - let us k ow if you have any other questions 🙏
Yes, our understanding is the falcon awning and tunnel are compatible with the new Odyssey roof top tent. 👍. It’s really the tunnel that needs to work with the tent. The awning will need to mount to. Compatible rack / cross bar system. 👍
Not worth it it is terrible if it rains you need to close everything otherwise you get wet. And if you do close everything you melt because the material is isolating. I regret getting it so badly
Hey James - thanks for watching. I agree that it looks like It’s not high enough to sit upright in, however I think there’s more actual room than it looks. At 6’2” I can comfortably sit upright… that being said everyone has their own threshold of what works for them and what doesn’t. We should have these in our showroom shortly. If your local we’d love to have you swing by and try it out. Alternatively perhaps a JB Space is better suited given its higher roof height. Hope that helps. 👍

James Baroud is still offering the fiberglass tents they always have. Those are tried and true with 25 years of experience under their belt 👍

I’ll do my best - thanks for watching!

Thank you for the interview. Do you know if the will make a tent in the Frontier series that looks like their "Space" tent?
Our understanding is that right now the Odyssey is the only one in the works. Let us know if you Uber any further questions. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the video! What is the weight of this tent? Vendors in Europe mention all kinds of different weights. From 60kg to 68kg

Any idea of RRP?
Recommended Retail Price can be found here. www.rhinoadventuregear.com/products/james-baroud-odyssey-roof-top-tent 👍
@@RhinoAdventureGear wow $8700 AUD! That’s about $2700 more than current model. I’ll pass.

It doesn’t look high enough to sit up in.

Its not. I have it. I only was able to sleep one night and now I am selling it. It was a terrible mistake
