The interlude is fantastic ... beautifully rendered with a piano ... the harmonies are gorgeous ... this treatment really shows their compositional strength for those who find the distorted guitar voice too grating ... this is a really symphonic piece. Beautiful, thank you!!!!

Many people tend to forget that the song Master of Puppets is about drug use, drug addiction, and the affliction it brings... and how you'll always "come crawling" back to it, as your life burns faster, it rules you, it is your master.. etc. So, this song is about one of the most ambivalent struggles a human can go through... and this lady really makes it come to life through her piano. Extremely well done !
This is the video that got me into metal years ago! Master of Puppets sounds so much like an advanced sonata or symphony transcription and it feels good to go back to this after all those years!

Does this refer to the technical complexity, the complexity of the meaning of the music, how difficult it is to perform, or something else? Besides that, these factors vary a lot between different songs. I would agree that a lot of metal is pretty simplistic and repetitive. But Metallica is a big exception. If you look at rock music in general, there are a few other good examples, like Queen.
Yeah, it is unbelievable that Metallica's songs sound like opuses composed by the classical music masters like Bach, Mozart, Liszt etc. It's the key point why they are so good.
I remember ,when I tried to play them riffs on guitar and I find them very unique. I mean special riffs appears in specific time and specific place in melody. Since that day ,wherever I listen Metallica's songs I just capture that special notes. That's why in my opinion Metallica is so special...and remind me my teenagers times :) Best wishes Kris

William Lockhart This sounds nothing like Beethoven. He had very simple repeating melodies from which he would extrapolate. This is a whole mess of power chords that's very hard to follow if you haven't heard the actual song before.

Obviously Beethoven's music is far more complex than Metallica's. I just find that the overall expression and structure of the song being played on a piano resembles Beethoven.

Obviously Beethoven's music is far more complex than Metallica's. I just find that the overall expression and structure of the song being played on a piano resembles Beethoven.
