Hello again Fellow Christians, even though David and Bathsheba relationship began under a VERY dark cloud (murder and adultery) it is still one of the most popular from the old testament. David paid a heavy price for his wrongdoing, but the Lord forgave him, kept his promise, and placed his son Solomon on the throne. It just proves, though we fall down sometimes, God still loves us. Don't ever forget that!

      Isaiah 58:1
      King James Version
58 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.

David had also made uriah drunk! but God has forgiven him. David cried out to God, asked for forgiveness, repented, and fasted.

If God is about justice how does David still get what he wanted? He was even angered at the thought of someone else doing what he did so he knew it was wrong when he did it. God caught wind of it, kills an innocent child and lets David's next son become a king? Huh???

God is all for justice ⚖️ and david got what he wanted because that was God's promise, he took his child away because the evil he had done. we never truly understand what God does because in the meantime-- his ways and thoughts are higher than ours. (Isaiah 55:8-9) ask the Holy Spirit to help you to understand this story that had happened. i understand, we may have confusion alot and you're not the only one, i have questioned many things the Lord does but He is open to our questions and concerns, and He will help us.

@@ellastillson your answer actually makes plenty of sense sis. Thanks for replying and enlightening me. I think i understand it a lot more. Perhaps there are multiple lessons to learn from this story. From your explanation I pretty much took a few things from this.

God promised long ago that the scepter would never leave the house of Judah. David being his descendant was incredibly fortunate that he could benefit from God’s promise. And from here it may look like David gets off Scott free. He got the woman he lusted after got to remain king and as king no one was going to come after him for murder. But as we saw before God always keeps His promises and David life was ruined as his son tried to usurp his throne and after his other son raped his daughter and murdered him for it. Absolon would chase him and his supporters as David fled for his life. After all this he still loves his son and hoped that he might live through the war, but David’s general killed him when he got tangled in vegetation. After he retook the throne his sons spent years fighting over the kingdom, and God allowed Solomon to ascend even though he was not the oldest.
So you see David made his own love hell because of his own actions. God had compassion on Him true enough, but He did not spare him the consequences of his evil actions and his privileged situation was made very low at times.
