As soon as I seen the title was Ogor vs Gloomspit Gitz I clicked right away!.

Safe to say this answers the age old question of
"who'd win in a fight, an Ogre or a Troll?"

Bad moon fangs only affects units wholly in its table quarter, so turn 1 that’s nobody bc it’s off the board. Also the rockgut boulder throw you roll equal or under the troll unit size.

@@d.davids1417 smatta84 is right, you go off the size of the unit of Trolls not the size of the target unit.
My favorite batreps feature the Beard and the Big Guy. Their individual senses of humor play off each other so well.
And issues ogres have: Objectives. Yes you count as 2 models. You still have fairly few units which makes issues as you are forced to spread thin. 1 unit for this objective, 1 for that. Opponent can then remove that one unit and control objective. Other weakness is if they get charged they SUCK and apart from gnoblars they don't have good screens. They also depend mostly on wounds as saves generally suck.

I'm also on the fence on which Mawtribes to play. I'm only a casual player who likes the modelling and painting so I've made my Ogors to look like Kossacks in service to Sigmar, his "secret army" so to say, but can't really decide on a good faction. Think i mostly played the Underguts thus far to bolster my Ironguts, but i wisch the Meatfists had better rules as they lore wise are the greatest of the mawtribes, something like a rule: "all ogor gluttons trample mortal wounds on a 5+ (making min units better), and always reroll wound rolls of 1 if in a unit of 12."
interesting lore, isnt that a throwback to the very early days of sigmar? One thing I wish they put into the sigmar battletomes was the ability to make your own factions, or in this case tribe. Give us some abilities to choose from to make a narrative and fun faction to fit our custom armies.
@@TT_Veteran Maybe they could make a rule that you can't take custom tribes to tournaments, or have like a really set amount of rules, something lika two buffs and a debut! (which i think should be a general rule for all sigmar factions)but i really like your idea of making your own lore. It would be on the same theme as the artefacts and command traits, they are in essens a way to get some custom lore into your army, eventhough they're nowadays more something of a list of buffs to choose. I'm always up for more lore and theme! :D
I love my Ogor Mawtribe army in AoS. So much fun to play.
I would say Steve's mistake was not bringing the shaman (as big as it is) to the frontlines. Those Fellwaters getting crushed instantly was a huge deal in an army all about buffing Troggoths.

Rockguts do 3 damage base and 4 damage with the battalion ability. Dont know why you guys keep forgetting that lol
Probably same reason why they keep forgetting the Rockgut Troggoth boulder ability; it's equal or less than the number of models in the TROGGOTH unit
As far as the after action report. The iron guts are actually pretty well costed.
The problem is you are comparing it to your bull gors which are actually straight up garbage because they hit on 4s and have poor support in the army. When comparing the iron guts vs rockguts the comparison becomes a lot closer, specially with the support they can receive.

Josh - I will say from my experimentation that I like choosing a custom Mawtribe for the footsloggers. I don't think that the benefits of the preset tribes is as good as having options for all Artifacts/Traits, but that is just me. Love those Artifact Pistols and the Trait that allows a Tyrant to count as a Monster for the Charge ability. :D
I usually run minimum squads of Gluttons so I can fill out my Battleline, but I am coming around to the larger squads due to more consistent Mortal Wounds on the Charge. :)
Not sure if you are still running things this way, but if you are playing footsloggers Bloodgullet is the way to go. They may be wizard focused but everything they do benefits gluttons and ironguts as a result. Trickle down allegiance abilities lmao.
It enables your casters to be more consistent with more spells (ribcracker, bloodfeast, greasy deluge etc) and the artifact and command ability just really support the playstyle.
If you are eligible to pile in 6inch you still can’t run and retreat and still pile in, only if you just retreat, it’s in the fire rules for when you are able to pile in
Gotta make the camera closer to the minis when doing the force intros, so people can appreciate them!

To anyone thinking about making an army for the competitive circuit, please be advised that the armies displayed here would be one of the worst armies in the circuit. 1-4 would be a spectacular success in these army configuration. The trogoths are an incoherent amalgam of destruction figures(great fun no doubt!) but not “tournament ready”. The gut busters list is far better, however still barely scratching the viability tier. Going for double chances at the buff slot machine that is the butcher is good, iron guts are very good(you must bully them and be on the charge for the value to stick. lead belchers are terrible in any configuration, the other butcher is bad as a caster, even next to the maw pot, his only saving grace is his melee profile... in this video he never moves. The beast claw radars version in erlbad battalion in one of the few mawtribes competitive configurations.
Research heavily before making a financial and time investment in these armies. If competitive is your goal. Beer & pretzels, local games, you can’t go wrong with these amazing and fun armies. :)

I really like the all ogre army. Looks tough. And against trolls is a really fun narrative.

Coalesced Lizards are a pretty good counter to ogors with their reduce damage by 1 to a min of 1 when a lot of Ogor weapons do 2 damage
Everything about this battle was pointing that it would be one sided from the start, seriously rough man.

So bad. This supposed GSG "Troll" player doesn't know the names of his troggoth units, how the moon works (turn 1 it is off the board) or even how the rockgut troggoth throwing attack works (there are only 2 types of troggoth troops, not much to remember).

"why lock relic/warlord trait?" Answer: BALANCE. You get FREE BONUSES. Obviously there has to be some price to pay so there's option. Either every unit costs more if they have subfaction, there's actual drawback(like -1 courage, have to reroll 6's to it or something) or there's locked relic/warlord trait. Otherwise you get advantage by simply taking free bonus rules with no drawbacks.
the goomspite army doesnt look like a goomspite army at all, or am i missing the 150 goblins that im searching for?

The squish has to be higher than their wound profile. The trogboss has another ability that does 1 mortal wound in combat

The ogres get countered by stuff like Ossiarch Bonereapers, because you don't have the rend to go through their infantry even with trampling charges you fall short
also a lot of ppl go for Bloodgullet as subfaction bc all of its features are good to ok, especially the 2 spellcasts for Ribcracker and Blood Feast

I'd love to see Steve play some Orges, I men the Mountains are full of them Orge Tribes. :)
I play both of these armies and man that GSG army is just such a sad build. Troggoths are already hurting this Ed, even with the white dwarf rules. The player keeps using the generic options and that seriously hurt as well, seeing as how the Gitz have so many options that are just plain better. Why use mystic shield ever? The Gitz have a ton of way to generate CP, and lots of uses for them, and when you can get a similar effect (guaranteed) for 1 CP, why not take advantage? If he had not taken the bounderz and instead taken a scuttletide and arachnacauldron, his army would have been better for it. The Mawtribes army is also mediocre because Meatfist Mawtribe is painfully bad, Bloodgullet does much more for a build like this is every way.
I get that it’s a casual game for fun, but I hope someone who is looking at these armies will benefit.
Maybe this will be corrected later in the video, but at ruclips.net/video/HI15t3FIeGI/видео.html you only did 2 damage (and 3 buffed) with your Rockguts, when Rockguts are 3 damage base.

"why lock in". If command traits and first artifact wasn't locked in subfactions what other bonus you would give to not taking subfactions? As otherwise it would be just free bonus rules...Which is super bad game design. There has to be some incentive to not take subfaction and their free extra rules.
