The sad thing is because of her age and everything she never knew this was wrong, she thought this is what her purpose was she thought it was normal, it hurt so much to go through this again I've and over but she thought that was life, her body didn't belong to her and I love how you represent that

Because giving favors could help advance the girls and the family as a whole politically and financially. If I remember where I read that, I'll come back to post my sources.
@Slenderboy J.R. We are talking about a child (she was about 17 when she was executed) who was repeatedly sexually assaulted by different men and neglected and abused by her family. Her being happy with these men is much like how a drug addict is always so happy and giddy when taking another hit that is going to make them feel horrible and sick a few hours later. That's not happiness. That's fucked up.

@@soifinallyhaveanaccountnow Yep Katherine's father was one of 17 (Yes, 17) children, so even though he was from a noble family he actually had very little money. He also had many children of his own (historians aren't sure of the actual number but probably at least 9) and complained in a letter to his own father that his wife "brought me every year a child." (Maybe Katherine's father should have kept it in his pants then?) So Katherine was brought up as part of a large crowd and as a result was pretty much ignored by her family, until Henry's eye fell on her, then of course they all came out of the woodwork.
Just to add more context, the Howard’s were close family of Anne Boleyn. Of course, when you’re related to someone the king accused of being a witch, that tends to put your family in a terrible light. When Katherine caught Henry’s eyes, her family encouraged her to pursue him. She was basically their ticket to the king’s favor
This could be incorrect, but I heard somewhere that while Henry hired a professional swordsman to execute Anne Boleyn to make it quick and painless, he hired a not so professional man to behead Katherine Howard, and it ended up going in her back first and took about an hour to get out and do it again. That is so disgusting.
Yikes. I read on wikipedia that she got beheaded via one swing on an axe but I guess that depends how much you trust wikipedia, honestly it wouldnt surprise me that Henry would do ssomething so vile
Before her beheading she was shown the two cut of heads of two of her previous lovers, yes it's speculated that those where actually her lovers even though they probably manipulated her (Francis Dereham and Thomas). No it was one swing. Forget the source but I think it might be the Anne Boleyn files. Most sources mention it was a single blow. Apparently the whole hit her back is likely a mix up with Mary Queen of Scots possibly or someone else.

This song always kills me when I see a new animatic for it, because everyone has a different interpretation of what happened, but the base of all of them is the same. A child who never had a chance to grow up is trapped, unable to find a fine line between companionship and romanticism.

Also a lot of those tiktok were American (so am I) and they weren't taught this in school so that's probably why they didn't know. It's still fucked up tho.
Eliza was emotionally destroyed by Hamilton as he violated their marriage bed and ruined their family reputation. Catharine was manipulated physically because she was young, naive ( in her abusers eyes) and was sexually assaulted. Sad thing is I don't think she was aware that her music teacher was abusing her ( analyzing based on the song did no research. ) with the others yes as she was older.
She reminds me a lot of Maria Reynolds. Maria was abused by her husband who she got married to at 15 and had a daughter at 17. At the age 23 she went to hamilton for help but only ended up making the situation worse
@@fawnx9544 whose feelings got manipulated in helpless? eliza liked alexander before they even properly met (in the song context of course, not sure about the historical context)
As someone with a similar childhood to Katherine; this is deadass one of the most emotionally powerful animatics I’ve watched Edit: thank you for all the really sweet messages of support and to anyone who commented to share that they also had a childhood like this I’m giving you all virtual bear hugs and cookies. We can all get through this!!!
I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I hope you're okay now. I know I'm a stranger but I'm wishing you strength, and I hope that now you are being treated with the kindness and respect you deserve.
With this song it makes the “lock up your husbands, lock up your sons” go from a warning that she will take them to pled for help asking to keep them away from her.
same, now I see it as both, cuz I think she really did cheat on Henry, and she was also affected by many p3d0s in her life and it’s the sad truth that back then she was expected to be a toy and let anyone do anything to her, and it’s really sad because I think she loved all of them but Henry the 8th (I don’t know much about history, or Roman numerals, this is all based off of what I heard from my parents and a novel I am reading)
“Playtimes over” sounds like a child phasing and it’s creepy but adds more lyrics and it’s perfect because her childhood was just pedo’s. If I was in the past I would have given her hugs.
This was absolutely gorgeous!! This is definitely one of, if not the best animatic I've seen for this song. All the little details, the scenes, expressions, the small animated bits. It was beautiful and very fluid. You did amazing!!
Sad fact: Apparently, Katherine was so scared of getting her head chopped that she was shaking and couldn't go up the stairs by herself and needed help walking up them.. :(
This is why I think she wins the competition. She had the most tragic life I could think of. Gets sexually abused by 4 MEN, that all started when she was only 13 years old. Then she gets beheaded at 17-19 YEARS OLD. AFTER SHE SUFFERS ALL OF THAT SHE JUST GETS BEHEADED AT THAT AGE. Rest In Peace Katherine Howard.
@♡Little cook1e ♡ yeah she was during the final part of the song (when she says “don’t care if you don’t please me…” and the other lyrics after that) were her screaming her innocence. But since it is the 1500’s women were treated very poorly so no one believed her
I love how you got her older self to get the spot light when the song goes going on 30, to show her childhood was taken away like that one movie, or maybe I am looking to deeply into this art you created
@@TheMochialVoid 13 going on 30 is an older phrase to talk about how a lot of younger teens think they know it all. It was later used as the title of a movie.
In the castle, tourist's have reported hearing screams coming from the library, and they claim it was Kathrine's ghost running from the guards who were gonna kill her.
And when she heard she was going to be executed, she ran down the hallway into his meeting room to beg him to spare her. Some say they can still hear running footsteps and her crying in that hallway.
I also heard that it took a couple tries for the axe to even hit her in the neck. Apparently it landed on her back the first time and it took an hour to get it out and try again because Henry was too cheap to hire an actual swordsman to aim better and cause less suffering before her tragic end
to everyone that's been sexually abused, raped or other things like that, i really hope you're okay, you didnt deserve that and i hope you're better now
The second one actually loved her, and if the first wasn't such a toxic person, she would have most likely be married to him. They called eachother husband and wife.
@@carolinemcgovern4488 Yeah, but apparently some people don't realize that part of the song they have on Tik Tok is from Six and just think it originated on the app. I've heard so many stories of people pointing out the real meaning behind the song to their friends and the friend being shocked about it.
Bro I think that it should just be common courtesy to check the lyrics of the song you're using to make sure that the purpose that you're using it for is appropriate. Idt the way they use this song is appropriate for its full meaning and it's sad that people don't look into it.
This is criminally underrated! I've seen a lot of animatics for this song and I think yours is by far the best I've seen. You really captured Kathrine's anger at being used over and over again throughout her life. I really loved all the portions with the disembodied hands. That was a really cool idea and you did it well! Also, the last part with the beheading? Perfect.
Hold up... I always thought that K-Howard fell in love 4 times and got rejected... but now, as I watch your animation, it seems to me she was taken advantage of by the men that she 'loved'. Wow, this song is so much deeper than I thought. What the actual fudge? How did I not realise this!?
Just an interesting progression that I noticed: her hair starts down but with each round of abuse her hair is in more of a ponytail(this probably wasn’t intentional but if it was then kudos to u I really appreciate it)
This is the best animation of the song I've ever seen! It describes her young abuse, how she always thought she could find a friend and how men shatter her live every time she meets them
The more I listen to Katherine Howard’s song, the more I see how this song really fits Sarah Lynn from ”Bojack Horseman.” For example, the scenes where Katherine has those hand prints all over her body reminds me of Sarah Lynn’s dress that had hand prints over her most intimate parts.
As someone who was abused by 3 men before the age of 18 and had the same "its love we have a connection" this song is devistating and my heart goes out to Katherine Howard she had a truly tragic story.
Okay this may be the best AYWD animatic to date. The way your drew the lusting hands was so sinister but amazing. It really made me feel for K Howard more than I already do. Excellent work.
I have a story: When I found out this song was being used to represent people's pErFeCt ReLaTiOnShIpS on straight tiktok, I told one of my friends what this song really means. All she said was "oh." . She dosent even realize that the trend is basically making fun of people who are victims of s*xual assault.
This song is so tragic but it’s my favorite song, I liked the “play times over” line because it shows that Catherine never had any time to just be a child because she was raped as a teenager.
this animatic. oh my god. it’s insanely good. i almost cried. it showed how truly terrifying and disgusting katherine’s experiences were the whole way through. this has to be the best one i’ve seen. the way the silhouettes changed at the end to show that she had enough gave me CHILLS.
i hate the fact that tic tok tried to make this song about "leaving ur ex and upgrading" when this song is actually talking about a girl who was used for men's desires. Its sad to know that she didn't even get to her adult life she was mostly a teenager during all of this and the fact she never got to find a REAL LOVE cause they beheaded her is just heartbreaking. i think this is one of the most powerful songs from the musical SIX tbh many people will relate to this song from its deep meaning.its sad to know that people didn't understand this meaning fromthis song while using it on tic tok. DiSgUsTiNg. >:(
I didn't realise what this song was about until I watched this animatic over then realised it was about rape. I watched it again and my eyes just opened. I really relate to her and am just disgusted at the world
Her backstory hurts so much.I never really realised what this song was truly about since it’s so covered with a talented tune. She was used in so many ways, and I did hear the corset part and was like,oh and didn’t think much of it.The poor girl...
I relate to her story so much. Her first experience (like mine) was when she was too young to know it was wrong. By the time she realised she should not have been doing it, it was too late and she was already doing it too much. And she finally gets a friend he turns out to be the same, her story resonates with me so much.
I like that you actually show her as a child, most animations show her as her older self in these stories and it really hits just how sad what happened is when you see her as a child.
Something I haven't seen a lot of people mention: Thomas has eyes when Kath is talking about him, but when he moves to touch her arm, his eyes vanish, making him just like the other guys that took advantage of her (they also lacked eyes). I've only seen that in one other animatic, and it's such an amazing little detail. FABULOUS work!!!
This songs makes me uncomfortable im so sorry for her And tiktok on the other hand has the audacity to make this song thats about sexual abuse and pedophilia a damn trend
You should be proud of this! Its the best animatic Ive seen for this song, you really feel her anguish and I love how you slowly incorporated more of the hair spike band as she got older. I especially love how you added you own flare to it like at 1:24 where you have her trying to reach out to her younger self and then someone restraining her from warning her younger self. You did a fantastic job with this!!! Keep up the good work!!!!! (and I totally get what you mean about struggling to keep interest in a big project and then just scrapping it when you don't finish it. I do the same thing with my amvs. So many just sit there half done and then I never finish them. Sigh. )
Oh my gosh this is such a beautiful video and i love how clearly that the animations convey Katherine's emotions from excitement to to utter betrail from mannox to thomas and how clear the sketch match the lyrics and when it got to thomas i felt like crying for her when her " friend" takes advantage of her and her vulnerable state from child hood to death it make me wanna cry such beautiful art
The part about Thomas hits hard, especially since I've been trying to re-learn trust. It all comes crashing down when your instincts not to trust someone were right all along
Man the actual story that they're even telling with the song is covered up by the catchy melody and tiktok, it hits me in the face every time I see an animation for the song, realizing the actual story again. Boy I'm sad
This. This has to be the best animatic of All You Wanna Do I’ve seen. I’ve been on the lookout for an animatic that conveys Howard’s trauma, and I firmly believe you captured it beautifully. The innuendos, the symbolism, the visuals, Howard’s mixed emotions both past and present, it’s all... **chef kiss** And it makes me even more happy to have this song as my favorite in the musical. So, I both applaud and tip my hat to you. 💗
This is one of my favourite animatics for this song! The purple hands everywhere.. that's what it feels like.. even though its only an animatic, that is exactly what it feels like..
I love the live version of this song the other queens put their hands on her and as the song progresses their are more hands and they get rougher this song breaks my heart
This was amazing! The small details you make really help it become more meaningful. I love how Thomas was the only one with eyes (besides her) and the disappeared as soon as he said “we have a connection”! It really helps you to understand what she is feeling
I love the subtle detail of how her eyes go all scared when Henry says “we have a connection” because of the trauma associated with that phrase, and the foreshadowing of her relationship with Thomas is just *chef’s kiss
Not only was K Howard sexually abused all her life, but she was beheaded at the age of 19. She didn't even make it out of her teenage years. Not only that, but before she was beheaded, she was shown the heads of two of her previous lovers. I also heard she practiced placing her head on the block many times until it was like pure muscle memory before she was finally taken to be beheaded, but I'm not sure if this is true. All in all, she had an awful life, and this animatic truly shows it. The art is amazing!
This is definitly one of the best ones ive seen! The expresions, the details, it turned out amazing! You made it so emotional, and i loved it. Great work on this! I look forward to seeing more!!
I love the animation and how it shows what she went through and what she was forced to go through. The story is still very sad because people are actually going to go through this or they already are.
Its so.. disgusting how social media consider this song for when your boyfriend/girlfriend leaves you, when the truth about it its about a girl that didnt even have a childhood because she was abused by pedos her whole life.
I won’t lie, this one hit different than most of the animatics for this song. Yours portrayed so well how young she was and how tragic her life was. And 1:22, gave me chills. As someone who’s had abuse that scene spoke VOLUMES.

Ah I see my fellow Hamilfans. YO!

Thanks for making this even more sad 😭👍
Imma be honest before I knew much abt Six and I heard that song I thought that line meant she was cheating...
same, now I see it as both, cuz I think she really did cheat on Henry, and she was also affected by many p3d0s in her life and it’s the sad truth that back then she was expected to be a toy and let anyone do anything to her, and it’s really sad because I think she loved all of them but Henry the 8th (I don’t know much about history, or Roman numerals, this is all based off of what I heard from my parents and a novel I am reading)
“Playtimes over” sounds like a child phasing and it’s creepy but adds more lyrics and it’s perfect because her childhood was just pedo’s. If I was in the past I would have given her hugs.
Playtime overs kinda makes me think that’s what the guys used to call it so in her childlike mind she would think of it all as a game or something :(
Yes. She was played like a toy. Tragic:(
This was absolutely gorgeous!! This is definitely one of, if not the best animatic I've seen for this song. All the little details, the scenes, expressions, the small animated bits. It was beautiful and very fluid. You did amazing!!
@sleepy ahhh thank you so much I'm glad you liked it!!
Mhm! I totally agree!!

In the castle, tourist's have reported hearing screams coming from the library, and they claim it was Kathrine's ghost running from the guards who were gonna kill her.
I went to Hampton Court and I can confirm that the screams are there. It's a heartbreaking thing to hear.

I heard she practiced laying her head on the block the night before
And when she heard she was going to be executed, she ran down the hallway into his meeting room to beg him to spare her.

Just an interesting progression that I noticed: her hair starts down but with each round of abuse her hair is in more of a ponytail(this probably wasn’t intentional but if it was then kudos to u I really appreciate it)
@Nora Sharp eye! Actually it was intentional, I wanted for her to look more like her musical theatre counterpart throughout the song
@@ArtsyFartsyAntics I'm really glad you did that. It is the little touches that really make this animatic a master piece.
1:24 is my favorite cause it shows Katherine trying to protect her younger self from being abused
This is the best animation of the song I've ever seen! It describes her young abuse, how she always thought she could find a friend and how men shatter her live every time she meets them
The more I listen to Katherine Howard’s song, the more I see how this song really fits Sarah Lynn from ”Bojack Horseman.”
For example, the scenes where Katherine has those hand prints all over her body reminds me of Sarah Lynn’s dress that had hand prints over her most intimate parts.

I love how all the other guys before Thomas didn’t have their eyes…means Kat really had hope for this one bigger then the others

i hate the fact that tic tok tried to make this song about "leaving ur ex and upgrading" when this song is actually talking about a girl who was used for men's desires. This is so well done! I could tell it was going to be heartbreaking from the moment I saw cutesy, babby 13-year-old Katherine.

This is one of the few animatics I’ve seen that really show the abuse she went through, so well done
Boy I'm sad

Not only was K Howard sexually abused all her life, but she was beheaded at the age of 19. She didn't even make it out of her teenage years.
