Chris is an absolute legend and a pure Gent. A true man of the people, one of us. I booked Chris for my mates 50th party and we were all truly blessed to get to meet Chris afterwards and have a beer with him. Chris is like your best mate you've always known. An unbelievable and unforgettable night was had by all. God bless you Chris and much love and big hugs. Legend
I could not agree more. Such a talented and underrated artist. The seahorses are unfairly criticised by those trying to compare to stone roses. Either way - one of my favourites of the decade. Extraordinary times. 4:12
Fucking love this guy.. saw him supporting Shed Seven in Holmfirth in 2019… they were great but he was amazing and I wish he’d done more hits that night! Bravo for fueling my youth ❤❤
Amazing. I loved this song when it came out, I really understood when I split with someone a long time ago and to this day still love it esp this acoustic version. Chapeau Chris
Amazing voice! Loved this band as a 15 year old in the 90’s. Still got the pipes on him. Quite fitting I'm now living in Brighton listening to this! Its funny how folks never seem to really listen to the lyrics of songs and understand what they are actually about!
On point with the wedding coming. I insisted the band play “ Grounds for Divorce “ by Elbow at our evening do in 2012. Divorced in 2017. 2 amazing daughters mind 😂
This is 'Chris's ' song, and I read that John Squire hated his version and insisted on changing almost every aspect of the song and even forbade him singing with his eyes closed (isn't that what SOUL is ?) Well the finished article was truly amazing but it is great to see 'Chris's' version here! Love dx
This song is brilliant. This version is what I think I sound like in my head singing along in my car. The truth is shocking of how bad the human singing voice can be.
I like this acoustic version with just him singing it alone... He looks different these days doesn't he ?! He was proper baby faced in 1997... How old is he, anyway ?..
It's a great song, but I will always remember seeing The Seahorses play live, and Chris Helme telling the audience to F off because he was aggravated at people chanting 'Squire'.
Eh??! It's an acoustic version. How is he supposed to play it when it's just him and a guitar?! If there was drums, bass and Squire it pretty much would sound like the record.

Amazing how his voice can sound when not drowned out by Squires amps
I was a massive seahorses fan and not because of John, but because of Chris. A real talent and this performance is flawless.

I love this song and Chris has gotten even better on vocals.
Absolutely amazing saw Chris in liverpool about 9 years ago. His voice gets better and better. His solo albums are just perfect ❤
Bloody hell this is good. Unbelievably so.
Bloody good song, and Chris' Voice has matured nicely.
Voice has gotten even better. Great performance
Never get sick of hearing this song. Once again Chris on top form.
I seen you in my hometown of Cumbernauld 👌 also was lucky enough to have seen the Seahorses at T & V festival's in 98 🍻
Magic performance
Fuck, we are getting old
Chris live is just magic , this recording doesn't do it justice. You have to see it live .
Fucking love this guy.. saw him supporting Shed Seven in Holmfirth in 2019… they were great but he was amazing and I wish he’d done more hits that night! Bravo for fueling my youth ❤❤
This is, and always has been an epic song...
What a song that is and Chris sounds even better now than he did on the record 👏🏽
This is Brilliant Chris, going through a divorce is hard and this is sooooo true! Literally pierced my heart ❤️ great lyrics, amazing voice x
Amazing singer
An accoustic album of all the Seahorses songs would be amazing
Extraordinary.
Just beautiful
Seeing him in Bristol 31st of May. Cant bloody wait!!!
Chris is unreal live, what a voice! Seen him twice at Shiiine On. Massively looking forward to seeing him again this year in Manchester
Wow! I confess I'd forgotten what an amazing vocalist Chris Helme is. It's been a couple of decades. But he's improved! This is awesome!
Incredible voice
Saw Chris in Great Yarmouth (with Nigel from Dodgy!) Great evening, great music and this song is so good that even my 16 year old daughter likes it!
Brilliant Chris! 🤣
Absolute class!!
Beautiful
Incredible voice, great song ,
Voice is bang on still 👍🏼
Amazing. I loved this song when it came out, I really understood when I split with someone a long time ago and to this day still love it esp this acoustic version. Chapeau Chris
great voice and wrote some damn fine songs for The Seahorses
Still just brilliant
Fantastic performance
I played the Squire noodling in my head whilst listening to this
Great song
Never grows old
This is an incredible live performance on one of my favourite songs.
Wow, love this song. The melody pierces my heart. Great version live. Chris still has a great voice.
Amazing voice! Loved this band as a 15 year old in the 90’s. Still got the pipes on him. Quite fitting I'm now living in Brighton listening to this!

Met him at a festival we were both playing at. Sound geezer
This upload is an absolute gift at I time I need it most. Thank you for taking the time to upload it, it really is a treasure.
I am glad you appreciated it thank you
Amazing song. Wife used to fancy him rotten. Now he’s turned into Miriam Margolyes 😂
😅👍
Sounds like someone’s a wee bit bitter over being cucked out.
😂😂😂😂
….not grotbags 😂😂
Harsh
His voice is amazing. Definitely going to try and catch a live gig
Que grande Milei!!!
Saw Chris do a short set in Manchester supporting dodgy. Best part of the gig.
Seeing him in rotherham on Saturday 8th July and can't wait.
Blinding version. ✌️
Amazing.
You've still got it mate X
Great stuff.
Really have missed live music in small venues,
Wooooow
The sound of my teens following chutzpah
round pubs in york
Fantastic writing and the guitar work on the studio version is outstanding, what else can one say lads. QQ.
Magnificent
Amazing Song, Amazing 'Supergroup', should have done more , but that's John Squire for ya! Amazing musician who doesn't hang around for long! dx
On point with the wedding coming. I insisted the band play “ Grounds for Divorce “ by Elbow at our evening do in 2012. Divorced in 2017. 2 amazing daughters mind 😂
Man, I miss the old days..
Still a f-ing amazing voice - and a great songwriter. WTF was Squire thinking going solo?
so excited that you are coming to our venue in Middleton on 26th April, can't wait as your songs are so beautifully written and performed
The guy is a gem but aint paying his phone bill legend
Quality

I’m right there with ya 😂
Sing loud and proud!
Saw the Seahorses live in 1998. I feel old. (Quickly does the maths) sh1te, I am old ☹️
Same brother same.
❤
I wish he’d release some new choon again…….
Superb,,,,,,,,,way before Ed Shearan......
And much better tunes!
It's the same with Paul Weller's 'You Do Something to me' but that's Women for ya! dx
I prefer this to the single tbh
I like this acoustic version with just him singing it alone... He looks different these days doesn't he ?! He was proper baby faced in 1997... How old is he, anyway ?..
I thought squire wrote that as in a ode to Ian brown after the demise of the roses
It's a great song, but I will always remember seeing The Seahorses play live, and Chris Helme telling the audience to F off because he was aggravated at people chanting 'Squire'.
i think Chris Helme should never have met John Squire, he had enough on his own to make it
Jesus he looks like a guy who owns an allotment compared to the 90's chris. Great song though 😂😂😂
I hate when artists do it completely different to what made it famous. This isn't blinded by the sun !
Eh??! It's an acoustic version. How is he supposed to play it when it's just him and a guitar?! If there was drums, bass and Squire it pretty much would sound like the record.
Yes it is. It's his tune that he wrote before even joining the Seahorses. Squire proceeded to noodle all over it aimlessly. This is quality.
@adam..you're mom.
@@MarioGomez-nd2mx thank you
He looks like a cross between Seth Rogan and Jonah Hill here.
Que interpretación tan chingona, llevo meses escuchando este tema sin parar.
I always enjoyed covering this song in and around York. I was, annoyingly, compared to Fletcher as a bass player. I'm not a big tosspot like Fletcher.
