DId not know that the intention behind the upgradeable armor pieces was to emulate RPG-mechanics, but I suppose it makes sense. Games in general often went that way when it came to making their games feel "bigger" in the 16-bit generations, I figure that they saw how big and meaty RPG's were and when they wanted to go away from having their games be nothing but the action they could fit on an NES cartridge, they took inspiration from the bigger games on the market. Even if I certainly wouldn't associate Mega Man X with RPG's, I get why they'd want to make the game feel bigger as that was a frequent complaint about the OG games. But it does feel kinda silly when almost every single upgrade capsule after this game turns out to be Dr Light having TREMENDOUS foresight despite his alcohol issues, and just predicting X would need upgrade after upgrade after upgrade...
I played MegaMan X for the first time at like age 18 and it's become the most finished SNES game for me by far. Used to be my "in between classes" at college through the day. Just do a quick hour run of X and jam out to the OST every day for years. I'm really curious on your thoughts of X2 and X3 because I actually appreciate a lot of their design more than X overall, but I find myself returning to X more often than them. Also the step up in editing is making me feel sloppy. I gotta step it cuz brother, you making things look sexy good
The game definitely still holds up. Did you ever play Maverick Hunter? It remixed the soundtrack and it's not half bad. X2 and X3 vids are releasing this Friday and next Friday :) Thanks for the kind words friend. I always look forward to your new videos 👌😎
I don't know what you're talking about with an easy mode for the bosses. I've never been able to get into any of the SNES mega man games because all the bosses are ridiculously hard. In 30 years I've never been able to beat any of them to even get a weakness weapon, let alone known what works on who. Rather than look it up I just give up, say I hate the X games, and go back to the NES ones. I suppose if I followed a step by step guide I could play the game, but if the design is so poor it requires that, I'm not really having enough fun with it to bother.
What's your favorite Mega Man X game?
X4 is definitely the best
@@Rogerin777 I love X4, I wish the series had kept up the momentum it built with that game
@@WesDoesGamesyeah, x5 is also good, but that timer mechanic is really annoying
X4, some time ago I tried the hack that reinstantes the original japanese dialog with english text and the Japanese intro, it's pretty dope!
Sentimentally, X1. Objectively, X2.
I just came across your channel, your intro is insanely good! I love the MMX series, I hope Capcom brings it back at some point.
I hope so too!
🤌🏽 man I remember I was sooooo pumped when I learned the Hadoken was in then. After I got it, I tore up everyone

It's amazing the things Dr Light was able to accomplish despite being a staggering drunk, lol

@@WesDoesGames I have not! I'll have to check that out.
Love the new intro!
Thanks Pete

The production quality is obviously 10/10 but dear god you have to tone down the cringe level on the jokes please, lmao
