1:48:16 I love how the updated Sad Song theme (which actually sounds pretty heartwrenching this time) makes what happens to Boomer actually pretty devastating…followed by the silly scene of the gang being taken to Exor.
Boomer is an old veteran soldier who tragically sold his soul to Smithy to regain his valor but he realizes his mistake and tries to redeem himself by allowing Mario and his team to reach Exor 😢
and unlike FF6 and 7 he STARTS with it but the OTHER Meteor basically a 4 turns Ultima/Mega Flare countdown not only does like 199 damage that damage is FIXED that NOT even the Lazy shell armor will reduce its damage at all only the Red Essence items can BUT the take no damage for 3 turns EFFECT of those items Peach's 2 healing FP moves WILL remove the invincibility effect those items cause so don't have her heal for 3 turns after they are used. But those items are SINGLE target only.

That is horrifying and you're praying he does Final Claw instead, which only hits one person for 9999 damage. Culex got a Superboss makeover!

However you can either1st fight Booster in his tower OR get the Amulet accessory but NOT both and for the 3 Jinx battles I waited until you can lazy shell weapon Mario and the armor on Peach to fight even the first battle on the SNES version. As for Cloaker/Domino you can only kill 1 not both so have Mallow Thought Peek both but still use Bowser and Peach for all the final dungeon bosses.
I have played the original on the SNES & I LOVE Super Mario RPG! Love the Remake too! There are, HOWEVER, some differences in the Remake compared to its original…including in Boss Names. For example, “Mack” is NOW CALLED “Claymorton” & “Yaridovich” is NOW NAMED “Speardovich”!
Mack was not suppost to be a knife but a sword, so a re-name makes sense Yaridovitch is SPEARdovitch name in japane written in English letters, so his name was always wrong since he is a spear
Flare makes more sense too since Corona looked like a Thunder move, but it is a Fire move, but that might be more an animation than name. It does leave me to wonder what Corona would be called if Sunshine got remade though.

I'm confused i sorta get yaridovich's name change, even though the new name doesn't roll off the tongue as well, but why was mack changed to claymorten? Now that im typing this, i guess like claymore even though I thought he was supposed to be a knife?
AMAZING game it looks like, and the only reason I'll buy a Nintendo Switch (maybe Zelda will be a secondary thing). But ya, what were they thinking with the music 'remixes'? What happened to Yoko Shimomura? It's not like she lost her edge on composing, she did the Kingdom Hearts games...I seriously don't get it. The song are so muted and lacking that energy/sense of urgency that the original had. I should know I played that game every morning before 6th grade grinding in the forest to get to ungodly levels super early. I am not and never was one of those "Oh let's see how frustrated I can get for useless clout by trying to beat this game with no leveling up or no upgraded weapons". To those people...just like Speedrunners, I ask..."why?". It's stupid in my opinion. If there is a monetary reason, which I know sadly speedrunner losers do get some portion of, then ya...I suppose. But there are many other more productive things in life that one could spend their time on. You know like trying to catch up with the last great generation and learning actual life tools and skills that will help them survive in a world where there is no power or smart phones. This is why we were the last great generation (born in mid 80's); we were on the cusp of technological advancement but it was expensive so not everyone had it (I did because I grew up in Yorba Linda/Anaheim Hills) in Orange County and had a Macintosh computer from age 7 in 1992 and then a PC in 1996 with Windows 95'. Both of which had internet (AOL 2.2 as my first one), and because of where I lived fellow kids I knew also had computers during that time. On a side side note, how did people not have high speed internet until the mid 2000's?? That's insanity. It was $80 for DSL when it first was available in our area of Orange County in 1999 and ya...no one ever went back to 28.8k/56.6k after. Man do I not envy kids these days complete unable to do anything without using a computer or their phones (which is also a computer). Seeing videos of brats "wishing" they got a cell phone at age 8 in their Christmas Present is pathetic to be honest. They don't need cell phone by any means and is opening pandora's box extra early. The gameboy-esque screens were suffice for us as Freshman in 1999 (another only in Orange County thing)...all 6 of us. The purpose of cell phone's initially was to communicate with your parents when you got your driver's license (and car) on the same day when out. I don't really have hope for the future of mankind, and they deserve what they get, and I'll be gone laughing from the heavens...because I'm not a heathen just outwardly hating western religion because I feel that somehow middle eastern religions are more "open" to homosexuality...to those, I invite to go to the middle east, I'll buy you a ticket no joke. You won't need a round trip ticket because that'd be a waste of money, since you wouldn't be coming back. But final claw would ONLY be used AFTER the 4 crystals are killed if you LIVE that long.
In FF9 that only happens in a cutscene AFTER those 2 to 3 Beatrix battles are over and she runs away afterwards.

Mack being a knife was actually a mistranslation; he was actually meant to be a sword too, a la Exor. So now he's named after a claymore sword.
