That‘s what happened to me. At 18 years old I searched for about 3 months for a 190E. After some time I found a flawless benz for 3,000€, which was already sold unfortunately. A month later I found another one, 5 speed benzene 2 Liter Engine, very lucky found. At first, nothing seemed wrong with the car, until I took of the exterior. The chassis had way too mich rust in it, which resulted in me paying an extra 3,000€ to fix all of it. Even though I payed 6k for it now, I still love it way too much to be mad about it. It‘s the most gorgeous car in the world
People use to say "Old Mercedes last forever…" and I think they are right!
I have two W123 (one 300D and a 230CE) and they are excelent cars.
I drove the 300D daily during a couple of months in 2017 and it was a perfect car for me with its automatic transmission.
I just stop driving every day because it was in such a good shape that I prefer to use it only at weekends and long journeys (as I do with the 230CE).

Great video! :-D The car seems to be in very good condition and as long as you keep maintenance you'll see it will last for a long time :-) I guess the guy was just a dodgy bloke and the reason he resisted is because he didn't really want to sell the car. And I can vouch for what he said: women don't like the 190 ahahaha btw: I don't have stickers at the moment, but I will send you one when I do! ;-)
The part where you're slowly lowering your sunglasses...looked like it could've been a sequence from a Sergio Leone movie, with a short Morricone music piece!

I have 190E W201 2.0 model year 1988.
I think its great car
I just bought a 1991 190e 2.6. with 174,000 miles.. for $1200 USD.... She runs good when driving and shifts gears well, but when she is idling the engine is shaky and its almost like she has a heart murmur or something. I dunno, I need to get her checked out immediately... Do you have any idea what it could be?
Now I wonder was the star on the bonnet a optional extra, my parents have 1990 190E 1.8 with 4 spd automatic and the car never came with one.....i wonder did the previous owner take it and replaced it with a cap lol
+Trucker Stabbs the star on mine was stolen before I bought it, and I'm considering the cap too... the star replacement is like 100 euro and kids love to steal hood ornaments in Rome :(

BTW a shame I can't import one of these.
They actually made the 190D with 4 different diesel engines: 2.0, 2.2, 2.5 and 2.5 turbo! Unfortunately right now in Rome it would be impossible to drive a diesel one, cause of anti pollution regulations :/ Why can't you import one???
Well, I can only import cars that are 30 years old or older. I actually think I can import one. There are a couple of them for sale here in Brazil for something like 5600 euros LOL

@@AdrianosClassicGarage hi thanks for your question.. have a j reg 2 litre.two k reg two litre and apurple ltd edition 2 litre. The other three colours are white black and silver. Also have a 1984 black Porsche 944 and a1965 mk1 a bracket lotus Corrina .back in the 60s I owned a997 Morris mini cooper. Great little car.with best wishes.rog brown. Pacific sunset records.

I just got winter tyres today! The Merc is doing fine and nothing broke so far (touching wood). I will soon get a few things fixed before they break, tho, and I'll make a vid about it for sure!

La macchina la posso comprare, posso fare il passaggio, e posso anche assicurarla, ma avendo 22 anni non posso guidarla per l'assicurazione, quindi se per disgrazia mi succedesse qualcosa dovrei pagare di tasca mia, e al momento non mi posso permettere di pagare una cifra simile a quella che pago già per l'altra mia macchina, per un mezzo che userei solo qualche fine settimana.
@@ozpakko Porca miseria! E quando potresti guidarla? Hai sentito altre assicurazioni? Io a 18 anni guidavo una 500 con l'assicurazione da storica, ma non sono sicuro di che compagnia fosse...

honestly would of choose the car over the wife! if I ever get a mercedes 123 wagon im keeping it as the family car, and if I have a family and a wife, that car is gonna stay in the family lol my wife has to not only accept me but the car too!

Check out the seller & his house as much as you check the Car.
Usually buy from an older person who has owned it for a long time.
People who live in nice houses on nice streets own nice cars however old the car is. Stick to quality cars. Merc, BMW etc. they have Street cred at any age.

I was suspicious because he flipped it so quick... but all the talking about the wife throwing him out of the house because of the 190e sure didn't help xD
That is a very cheap car at 1350 e. Keep it & do every job it needs. 1 job each month until it is Perfect. Then NEVER sell it.
save 100 per month in a Secret place, to pay for any repairs. After a year it will be Immaculate.
It's getting a full respray at the moment! I will make an update video when it's back from the shop!
