    Nice video as always. I use Tigernuts and fake corn/maze on a hair rig and catch carp and cats. For boilies the best ones I seen work was a Peach/Shrimp flavor. My buddy slayed them on that flavor …

    Another great and informative video. Along with the Siracha nuts. My tuitty fruitty flavored ones work well also. This has been my first year using them. I also luv your "expensive" bait keepers. Another money saving tip.

    I have used these in various flavors, banana, almond and anise. I am going to try the hot sauce next. I have had some success but feel that boiled feed corn works best for my area. The tiger nuts seem to stay on the hair longer than the feed corn so that is a plus. I appreciate your instructional videos and have learned a lot from them. Please keep them coming.

    Hi Tom,
    Quick note: After watching this video I thought I'd infuse some normal canned sweet corn with sriacha. I just put some nice fresh and firm canned corn kernels in an old prescription drug jar with about a tablespoon of sriacha sauce. The prescription drug jar is totally leak proof. I've now caught a bunch of carp using the sriacha infused canned corn thanks to you!!

    Another good flavoring/preservative option is getting shooters of 99 brand alcohol at the liquor store. They have tons of flavors. Last time I went they had probably 25 different flavors to choose from.

    Tried chick peas this year. Cooked up like the tiger nuts. They looked good! But I never caught a carp on them. Hard to get away from something yellow that works.

    I would rather use well fermented tigers, just with sugar added after the boil, then let them soak again for, well longer the better. But good video, should help some people.

    Good stuff Tom. I see on UK sites that they drill them with a special little drill (that you buy) but I noticed that you didn't. I bought some flavored ones from ACS as a trial and had no trouble piercing them. (I think Brits just like to complicate things. I worked for British Aerospace, so I am not surprised. But, maybe stocked British carp are more sophisticated than wild American ones. ) So far no fish. Hope springs eternal. Next time, boiled Chufa seeds.

      We drill them to add cork so there neutral boyancy. It goes back easier then into the mouth. Could just use a normal drill bit

    I know when you're making pack bait you use lake water and say not to use tap, when you're boiling tiger nuts/feed corn does it matter if you use tap since you're boiling it? Or should I use distilled water? Thanks for the content

    • @OutsidewithTom
      @OutsidewithTom  Год назад +1

      The chlorine evaporates when you boil tap water.

    Thanks for sharing. Habe you tried soaking/cooking them in flavored water (eg almond or spicy) to improve the penetration of flavors?

    • @OutsidewithTom
      @OutsidewithTom  9 месяцев назад

      I haven't. The alcohol based flavors would just evaporate.

    • @OutsidewithTom

      Tiger nuts. Purely for the reason that they stay on the hair better.

    Particles have thier own flavour.
    Why change them

    • @OutsidewithTom
      @OutsidewithTom  6 месяцев назад

      Because the natural flavor is very mild. Adding bold flavor is intended to attract attention.
