- Mount Dana is the second highest peak in Yosemite, towering at 13,061 feet of elevation. It's a breathtaking hike (literally), with breathtaking, gorgeous views, including a 360 view if you reach the summit.
On this video I share my two adventures trying to reach the summit, one failed attempt in October 1, 2023, and the more recent success on July 28, 2024. I hope you enjoy the video and that it may be useful and inspiring.

Hey Daniel, this is Josh, the solo hiker that was on the mountain with you all on that snowy day in October. I even make a short cameo appearance in your video at 42:09 😁 I have followed your channel since we met that day, and I'm glad you uploaded the footage.
And I am super glad you got to go back and summit! And wow, what incredible views you get when you aren't hiking through the middle of a snowstorm. I moved back to the east coast earlier this year, so I won't be back on Mt Dana any time soon, but I am confident I will return one day and conquer the mountain like you.
It was great meeting you and the rest of your group that day and to have some company on the hike.

@crucified4me Absolutely, I'll definitely let you know. I'm in south carolina now, so we have the Appalachian's, Great Smokey Mountains, and Blue Ridge Mountains all within a few hours or so. They aren't the Sierras or Yosemite, but still beautiful in their own right. I'll be checking out Acadia in Maine in October, so that should be cool 🤗
