  • In this video I build all the terrain pieces for my Oldhammer battlefield. Rivers, farms, forests and hills. All made to look like they did back in the day when I was a kid.
    Models are from the following companies:

    www.infinitedimensions.ca/
    / terrain4print
    Theme song by Jakob Oldenburg

    The nostalgia is so good. It brings me back to when I was 10 or so, when I started with warhammer. It was at the cusp of the edition with the plastic empire and orc starter box. What I loved about it is that it was a bit more cartoony and at the same time historic, depending on the faction. Low fantasy with a streak of humor in it. I much preferred it to the current high fantasy style. It was simple and easy to the eye, but at the same time endearing and gorgeous. This type of terrain fitted perfectly with it. beautiful but not overly complex. Just the right balance. I look forward to the next parts.

    way back when, 40k tables weren't too different to FB. Green grass, trees, hills, rocks etc are universal. Im quite happy for the odd tavern, cottage or old farmhouse to make it in to the 41 millennium too lol. This kind of terrain is much more fun to make, paint etc I personally find,

      @@Lybbansminiatures brilliant news, though even this video has already been very helpful indeed. I'll go a bit more naturalistic with the hills, but the basic selection of terrain pieces and the dimensions of rivers, hills and forests will probably be very close to the ones shown in the video to allow for use with both 28mm and 10mm models

    I love your terrain builds brother. You should really wear a respirator, or at least a mask when you cut and sand hardboard though. The binding agent for that stuff is made with formaldehyde and you don't want to be inhaling all that dust and embalming chemicals.

    Nice video. Did you experience any warping issues on your base boards? Since a lot of texture, glue etc is added on 1 side and the boards are very thin? Same question for the big table plate with the map. Any warp there?

    • @Lybbansminiatures
      @Lybbansminiatures  2 года назад +1

Sadly it's become a boring monopose hobby where passionate creative hobbyist are not only discouraged but openly punished!
